KCTU Conducts Protests Against Ulchi Freedom Shield Military Exercise

The KCTU might as well as just say they get their marching orders from Pyongyang:

Representatives of South Korea’s largest trade unions are warning that Ulchi Freedom Shield, the largest military exercise by the U.S. and South Korea in five years, runs counter to their members’ interests.

The Korean Confederation of Trade Unions and the Federation of Korean Trade Unions together claim more than 2 million members working in government, schools, public transportation and the automotive and food industries.

Their street demonstrations against the large-scale drills have been frequent sights outside the presidential office in Seoul and U.S. bases like Camp Humphreys since the start of Ulchi Freedom Shield on Aug. 22.

“If a war breaks out, those who will suffer from the war are our people: workers and laborers,” Lee Jihyun, spokeswoman for the Federation of Korean Trade Unions, told Stars and Stripes by phone Thursday.

You can read more at the link, but I find it interesting that not once has the KCTU held a major rally to protest North Korea’s various provocations, missile launches, or nuclear tests. However the ROK holds defensive drills with the U.S. after suspending them for five years for nothing in return and they have a problem with that.

There goes KCFU practicing paralogism yet again. Ulchi is to stop NK from invading SK ever again, not to start a war.

Unions in the USA at the beginning of WW2 engaged in numerous strikes, slowdowns, stoppages, and even sabotage…

American unions, in my lifetime, have always been nominally patriotic but fully supportive of unamerican goals.

Over and over and over.

BTW, in China’s Tiananmen Square in 1989, union members joined the peaceful student protest, killed a police officer, and disappeared, leaving the students to face the government’s wrath.

Pardon me if I can’t work up anything but contempt for them.

Flyingsword, while I appreciate your attitude and I know your heart is in the right place, jailing them may make you feel good but it won’t solve the fundemental problem.

Interesting.

The majority of the Setnaffarians are blue collar workers and lower middle class.

Yet they oppose the very organizations that will protect them from the exploitation by greedy management.

Which makes me think that they are indeed funded by the Russians and the Chinese who do not like these labor unions, or at the least unions who do not submit themselves to the supreme leader.

I can’t speak for the rest of the Setnaffarians…

…but I crave exploitation.

I want the government and large corporations to tell me what to do.

I want to eat bugs and live in a pod and shoot up with the latest ineffective experimental booster that real science says cannot work any better than the vaccine did.

I want people who fly in private jets to scold me over my carbon footprint and I want people with beachside mansions to lecture me on sea level rise.

I want social media to protect me from my own words that might offend those pushing for more crime and child trannies.

I want government to remind me there is no inflation so I quit listening to my own lying empty wallet. I also want government to not arm the border patrol to protect the border but to arm 87,000 new IRS agents against American citizens… especially ones who can’t afford lawyers.

I want nothing more than to be told want to do, just like roughly half of Americans…

…which oddly is pretty much how a bell curve of intelligence works.
