Korean Priest Punished After Asking Nation to Pray for President Yoon’s Plane to Crash

How did someone like this ever become a priest in the first place?:

This photo released by the Daejeon Diocese of the Anglican Church of Korea on Nov. 14, 2022, shows a document on the disqualification of Father Kim Gyu-dong.

A priest of the Anglican Church of Korea has been disqualified for openly wishing for President Yoon Suk-yeol’s plane to crash during his ongoing trip to Southeast Asia.

The Daejeon Diocese of the Anglican Church of Korea announced the disqualification of Father Kim Gyu-dong as a priest Monday after he called for a nationwide prayer for the crash of the presidential plane in his social media post.

President Yoon Suk-yeol accompanied by first lady Kim Keon-hee began a trip to Southeast Asia on Friday to attend the Association of Southeast Asian Nations and Group of 20 summits, and they are scheduled to return home Wednesday.

Kim recently uploaded a social media post about Yoon’s Southeast Asia trip, saying he wants the presidential plane to crash and wishes the entire nation would pray for the accident. Kim deleted the post later after his church was flooded with protests, explaining that the post was intended as a personal memo but was disclosed by mistake.

The question we must ask ourselves:

Was this the act of an evil false priest wishing annihilation upon another son of God over petty and inconsequential earthly matters?

Or…

Was this the generous act of a true believer hoping God would call home one of his humble servants who would no longer need to be exposed to the stresses brought on by his horrible detractors and instead could experience eternal joy in the Kingdom of Heaven.

If I was the priest, I think I would claim the second one and then ask which hypocrite didn’t want to see the beloved president basking in eternal glory at God’s side.

Yeah? Nobody? Thought not.

See you guys on Sunday.

The fact is, CH, that while we of the Cross wish good on others, we typically don’t also wish a violent death on them and their retinue.

Perhaps a minor point; but the Anglican Church in England and the USA has long ago dropped any serious pretense of being Christian. They’re as pagan and evil as the Canaanites God had Israel destroy.

And they’re not alone.

We all need to examine our own religion, see what it’s based on, how it manifests itself when we get frustrated, and “pray without ceasing.”

Setnaffa, I very much respect your sincere attitudes and your true desire to follow the good spirit of the very best of Christianity.

Protip: if you feel the need to test a Christian, make an intentionally crappy dig at Christianity.

If they come back at you with hate and the old and tired, “Yeah, but you are going to hell” stuff, you know you are dealing with a nutjob who found miniscule meaning and false power in their sad little lives… like global warming scolding, mask enforcement, fat ugly chicks screaming about right to an abortion, standing with that place they can’t find on a map, supporting adults to have sex with other adults of the same gender and making sure you must know about it and express approval… etc.

Being around a hateful Christian spouting weaponized Christianity is worse than having a 35 year old drag queen at your party.

But if they come back with kind words, you have found someone who uses Christianity to enrich their lives and give good structure to their attitues and behaviors. This person can probably be a good and trustworthy friend.

(There are also the mentally ill on the good side of Christianity… but they are harmless and sweet in a sad way.)

This protip also applies to Christians who aren’t sure about their relationship to Christianity.
