North Korea Claims to Have Tested an Underwater Nuclear Drone
Sounds like more North Korean propaganda to try and strike fear in South Korea and impress their own domestic audience with something that probably doesn’t even work:
North Korea has tested a new nuclear-capable underwater attack drone, state media reported on Friday, as leader Kim Jong Un warned joint military drills by South Korea and the U.S. should stop.
During the test, the new North Korean drone cruised underwater at a depth of 80 to 150 metres (260-500 feet) for over 59 hours and detonated a non-nuclear payload in waters off its east coast on Thursday, North Korean state news agency KCNA said.

You can read more at the link, but North Korea claims they can make underwater nuclear tsunamis to destroy naval fleets.
This is the equivalent of a petulant two-year-old child claiming they were going to hold their breath until they died (“And then you’ll be sorry!”).
I don’t know why; but I expected something more clever, more sophisticated, more nuanced from the Norkistani government.
I don’t know about everyone else, but I would be a bit concerned about something that can’t be shot down, has a small acoustic signature, can creep to its target, can loiter for a long time, and can expload next to a city or navy base… or under a carrier group.
It is likely true that this can be equipped with a nuclear warhead.
This is exactly the type of weapon NK should develop.
America needs to stop building targets and start building terminators and anti-terminators.
America would kick the world’s àss if we had to fight WW2.
America is not ready to fight drone asymmetry we are seeing in Ukraine.
That is the future of war.
