John Bolton Calls for U.S. Deployment of Tactical Nuclear Weapons to South Korea

Here is the latest person to call for the redeployment of tactical nuclear weapons to South Korea:

The United States should redeploy its tactical nuclear weapons on the Korean Peninsula to make US extended deterrence credible against escalating threats from North Korea, said John Bolton, former White House national security adviser, on Tuesday. This strategy would also enable South Korea to buy time to weigh up the gains and losses of nuclear armament, he added.

“I’ve refused to give up on the possibility of stopping North Korea from getting deliverable nuclear weapons in the first place. That should remain (at) the center of our attention. This is not over yet,” Bolton said at the Asan Plenum 2023 hosted by the Asan Institute for Policy Studies in Seoul.

You can read more at the link, but the redeployment of nuclear weapons Bolton says is also a way to hold China accountable for allowing North Korea’s nuclear weapons program in the first place.

John Bolton should just STFU and go away.

South Korea doesn’t need nukes to whup the parasitic runts up north.

They don’t need us or the Japanese, either, except to keep those nose-picking CCP goons out of the game.

Bolton must be short of cash or something

tactical nukes are not going to do the job, when North Korea or China bombs South Korea and everyone and everything is already dead. Battlefield tactical nukes won’t deter mass nuke attacks.

The whole idea of getting nukes is for deterrence through a statement that if they attack, they will also ensure their own mutual destruction. This is not just for North Korea, but also for China.

To ensure this is in place, South Korea needs two or three nuclear-powered subs with SLMB capability, carrying nuke missiles roaming around the Pacific, submerged for months, keeping an eye on North Korean infiltration subs as well as Chinese nuke subs who are surely operating underneath the ROK navy ships in Korean waters. It should be let known to the enemy that if they destroy South Korea, those surviving ROK submarines in the seas, will fire off their nuke missiles.

No more need to be depended on the question of, will the US president endanger or sacrifice one of his cities for South Korea.

You do know setnaffa had John Bolton did that in Hanoi, Kim and Trump would have made a deal and we wouldn’t be in this mess right now.

Be careful what you wish for setnaffa.

I agree with Korea Man.

Korea needs subs, a carrier, lots of jets, tanks, artillary, bombs, drones, satallites, and everything else… and lots of it.

Why?

Korea builds good cars because it encouraged a domestic car culture, with all the lessons learned from that.

Korea is going to be a defense leader in 10 years. Using and testing this equipment is key to making it competitive. Showing the world hiw it is used is the best advertizement.

But this is not for the taxpayer to subsidize.

Nooooo… this is not America.

The military-industrial complex must give what the military industrial complex taketh away.

They can use the taxpayer-subsidized military for free but they must provide the hardware.

After a few years when the bugs are worked out, they can supply Korea with free updated and refined hardware and sell the previous version to the third world, still at a profit.

With proper management, and lots of excercises, design cycles could be crazy-short.

Unlike other “Korean” companies that are now multinationals and only talk Korean patriotism to the Korean market, there is no shame in keeping your defense companies within your borders and contributing to the local economy.

America can’t pressure Korea to move their missile factory to America and Korean companies can’t move production to China to cut costs.

So, Korea need to militarize as much as possible… as that will be the key to helping the world militarize.

Korea also needs to send observers to Ukraine and Russia to study how to conduct some of the emerging aspects of 5th generation warfare so they can design the right hardware for this…

…as the war in Ukraine has shown the future of unmanned systems collecting information, assisting in targeting, and lurking in the sky for a chance to strike. This doesn’t need a 10 million dollar aircraft. It needs 10,000 one thousand dollar aircraft… all automated, AI enhanced, and coordinating their information so good decisions can be made from a platform in space.

If Korea continues on this pathway, it will remain a successful economy exporting lots of products once all you dummies own nothing and are happy about it.

(Bug farming could be a side gig to keep you all fed.)
