37,000 Scouts Relocated from Jamboree Location to 128 Locations Around Korea Due to Poor Weather

What a fiasco the Scout Jamboree has turned out to be. It is not like it couldn’t have been predicted that the weather in August in South Korea is miserable:

About 37,000 Scouts participating in the 25th World Scout Jamboree left their campsite in Saemangeum for Seoul and seven other regions across the country on Tuesday ― four days ahead of schedule due to the rapidly-approaching Typhoon Khanun.

Interior and Safety Minister Lee Sang-min said the government mobilized more than 1,000 buses to relocate about 37,000 people from 156 countries.

The global youth event initially drew over 43,000 Scouts from 159 nations, but the 1,500-member U.S. and 4,400-member U.K. delegations, along with participants from Singapore, pulled out of the campsite earlier citing risks posed by a heat wave.

“Four police helicopters and 273 patrol cars were also mobilized for the safe movement of the participants,” Lee said during the last media briefing held in Saemangeum, a reclaimed tidal flat in North Jeolla Province that has served as the venue for this year’s World Scout Jamboree.

According to the government, the participants were scattered throughout 128 accommodations across the country, including 64 in Gyeonggi Province, 18 in South Chungcheong Province, 17 in Seoul and eight in Incheon.

Most of the places are college dormitories or government and corporate training facilities.

You can read more at the link, but maybe the government should have let the military plan this instead of civilian authorities who seemed more interested in taking lavish trips abroad.

You mean this military?

[단독] 해병대 1사단, ‘안전로프 필요’ 건의도 묵살 (tvchosun.com)

At the time, the battalion commander who was in charge of the scene suggested, “In order for the marines to wade into the water up to their waist, safety ropes are needed.” However, the headquarters of the Marine 1st Division dismissed this suggestion, which has been investigated as an attempt to cover it up.

Furthermore, the on-site recommendation to have soldiers wear military boots instead of risky footwear in the water was also not accepted.

In the investigation record of Corporal Chae’s death incident, there is testimony that Marine 1st Division Commander Im Sung-geun emphasized the “uniformity of attire to make the Marine Corps t-shirts visible.” It also includes the content that a female division commander instructed, “When wearing a black wetsuit, unzip the zipper to ensure that the red Marine Corps shirt and letters are visible,” which poses a risk as unzipping underwater could cause the wetsuit to inflate in the current, leading to being swept away by the stream.

The Marine Corps Investigative Unit intended to report to the police that there were charges of ‘negligent manslaughter’ against 8 individuals, including Commander Im, but the Ministry of National Defense has halted the referral of the case, stating that “further legal review is necessary.”

Jeolla Province taking a big hit from this. The preparations were inadequate and largely inept, and the folks in charge were busy taking European trips to irrelevant places. Moon did them a favor, and they made the most of it. Not sure how much the new administration is responsible, but it would have been good to check the drainage plan. Anyway, that is not a good place to gather in August, and the heat was the big problem.
But I thought the relocation of over 43,000 scouts was amazing. The transportation, lodging, and feeding were all accomplished at a moment’s notice…instant logistics. And then they had tours, visits, and lessons all arranged, as well. That looked very impressive to me.

An accounting of the handles the Setnaffarians use for their sockpuppets.

The known handles are;

I’m tempted to add FlyingSword to the list, but although he fits the MO, his style is a different to the Setnaffarians.

Excellent detective work.

Once your investigation is complete, be sure to file a report.

Not fully decided:

Based on the coincidence of them always popping up at the same time, it is unclear if Korea Person and Korea Man are socks or just gay lovers.

I’m going with socks.

They both write like takers and that wouldn’t work out in the real world.

I’d say they are socks (accusing others of what they are guilty of is the leftist go-to after all).
But they are doing it so badly they might be FBI.
