The farmer in the dell.
The farmer in the dell.
Hi-ho, the derry-o!
The farmer in the dell.
The farmer takes a wife.
The farmer takes a… wait… what?
This definition of “take” really changes the mood of the song.
“Too soon, Chickenman.”
It is never too soon.
If there is one thing (the response to) covid taught me is that self-removing dysfunction is to be encouraged.
Less dysfunction is better.
Every noun and verb in this story is dysfunction.
The sun shines a little brighter today.
This article gives more details about how the father murdered his family with a knife and then killed himself by drink insecticide:

That is horrible. 🙁
Three sons who all have profound disabilities is strange though.
I have to wonder what the history is there.
Perhaps the couple had them later than was advisable. We all view disabilities differently. The farmer was possibly feeling guilty about burdening his wife after getting convicted.
People are often irrational under pressure.
Pesticides are known for causing birth defects and even autism. Farmers today know this and are able to take precautions to mitigate risks, but this man had his children back in the 90s to early 2000s when Korea was still pretty behind in some regards. It is very likely he inadvertently poisoned his family. Suicide by pesticides is coincidentally thematic. Perhaps he was looking for some type of penance, catharsis. Of course this is speculation.
The mystery deepens!
“Police found one knife and a bottle of insecticide in a search of the family’s home.”
If the police found a bottle of insecticide, how did he die?
Unless…
…they actually found an insecticide bottle…
…which leads to entirely different conclusions.
Do you think the media is in on the coverup?
Still too early, CH …
But a limerick about Mao or Xi might be appropriate.
