A legislative move to ban the consumption of dog meat is losing steam as rival parties have yet to reach a consensus over the issue amid fierce opposition from dog meat traders.

According to political circles and animal activists, Sunday, the anti-dog meat bill is still pending at the National Assembly, as the main opposition Democratic Party of Korea (DPK) is refusing to cooperate with the ruling People Power Party (PPP) over the legislation at the Agriculture, Food, Rural Affairs, Oceans and Fisheries Committee.

For the bill to pass in the 21st Assembly as promised by both parties, it needs to pass the standing committee and the Legislation and Judiciary Committee before finally winning a majority of votes by present lawmakers at the extra plenary sessions, slated for Dec. 20, 28 and Jan. 9 next year.

The ruling party stressed that the legislation must pass during the extra plenary sessions next week.

Seems like a lot of asshats trying to force other people to follow dietary rules.

While I would never eat dogmeat, it’s not my job to tell anyone else what they can/cannot eat.

Tell the illegitimi to go to the devil.

None of the political parties dare to do what is right. They always end up doing nothing just because they don’t want to offend a few minority of crazy old people in a dying industry. And it’s not just this subject, it’s every other critical issues that are facing ROK.

“They always end up doing nothing just because they don’t want to offend a few minority of crazy old people”

So now you are against minorities.

And you practice agism.

You are such a bigot.

Don’t forget your Klan robes, Exhausted Cyclops.

While I am no Marcus Gavius Apicius with 100 million sestertii to spend on food, I do in shared spirit enjoy exotic dinning. I ate dog, dolphin, and whale in Korea. Even fermented skate. It all paired well with soju, dangerously well.

Food is what helps keeps cultures distinct from each other. Keeping Korea Korean means not allowing McDonald’s to take over the food supply. Figuratively speaking. I liked Korean McDonald’s.

Of course I am American, and I hear eating whale is a mighty scandalous, horrifically sinful even. Thankfully God got me covered.

Genesis 9:3
“Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things. ”

Hopefully I’ll get a Havardian dispensation just like the Makah Tribe seeks. Probably will go about as well as my request for a vaccinesad exemption on religious grounds. No dice. Sad.
