Mr. Rashid, with so little to say, must manufacture news with hyperbole and auxesis to generate clicks that maintain his freelance journalist status.

This would not be his first time.

This event in no way “threatened the state of democracy”. Saying such a thing is the language of clowns.

Was it some sort of assault on the freedom of expression?

Let’s consider.

Was inturrupting a graduation ceremony protected expression in a decent society?

If it is, I know the perfect venue to express my desire to bring attention to my new line of ássless leather chaps.

If only the lefties think this was appropriate, I will be happy to help strengthen Korea’s demonstration of support for domocracy and freedom of expression at lefty events through rude and inappropriate disruption.

Suddenly the left will be against democracy and freedom and even Santa Claus.

I love to tell the Man to eat a bag of dícks, but there is a time and place to do it. Inturrupting the graduation ceremony for a bunch of students who worked very, very hard to be there is not the time or place.

Bonus:

It was the other students who grabbed this inturrupter and carried him out of the area…

…though they did so with such speed and purpose that, perhaps, this was planned.

Fake news spreading Chicken Head, those were presidential bodyguards in disguise.

But you probably don’t want to accept that since that won’t fit with the narrative that you want to spin.

https://www.koreaherald.com/view.php?ud=20240216050525

A clip of the student being carried out with his arms and legs lifted by bodyguards has gone viral in online communities. The video appeared to show some of the bodyguards were clad in graduation gowns.

“Fake news spreading Chicken Head, those were presidential bodyguards in disguise.”

Let’s consider this.

The source for this is the opposition party, which certainly has a motivation to encourage thoughts of secret police disguised as students. This allowed them to followup with visions of past dictatorships. Well played, lefties.

The news article qualified that statement with “appeared” rather than stating it as fact. This was not out of journalistic integrity. This is typical news bias when they want to leave an impression with low-comprehension readers without actually lying.

If it is shown they were unquestionably fellow students, the news can say, “but we never said they weren’t. We just said they appeared not to be.”

If there is no follow-up, which there won’t be, low-information dipshíts will be yapping for decades about Korea’s assult on democracy when they dressed up jackboot thugs as students to oppress free speech.

Trump’s collusion with Russia to get píss hookers should have taught somebody something.

Now, let’s look at reality.

The guy disrupted the speech. What “appeared” to be a presidential bodyguard was on him quickly becasue there were guys in suits stationed around the area. Just as quickly a group of students were on him and took him out.

Here is what you would have to sell for these to be convincing presidential bodyguards in disguise.

– there was a group of bodyguards who just happened to be right by the action

– their proximity was either luck or there were equal groups throught the crowd who did nothing

– a group of disguised bodyguards all together is a better tactic than bodyguards spread out with areas of coverage

Now here is some situational evidence for this:

– Koreans, especially students, are more likely to pretend they don’t notice, tolerate, wait for someone else to take action, have a stupid look and wonder what to do. Foreign students are likely not to want to get involved in a domestic dispute.

So we have a few choices:

– They were bodyguards disguised as students who were far more efficient at taking care of business than the suited official bodyguard who tussled with the guy’s mask.

– They were smart KAIST students who identified the problem, formulated a solution, and executed the plan withiut hesitation or fear.

– It was a pre-planned setup because nobody at KAIST is happy to see a cut in research funding. The plan was for him to make his point and then the other students would grab him and carry him out in a quick and efficient manner.

I am going to look at the video again, but in my one viewing (and upon further consideration), I saw something that looked planned.

I am making a mental list of clues to look for and I will have a better idea after i watch the video again.

Not yet sold on the idea they were bodyguards disguised as students.

But…

…if they were…

…so what!

Their job is to protect the president and ensure he can work without disruption.

Excellent and efficient professionalism!

The issue that should be concentrated on is where a decent society considers the line between disruption and protest.

It could also be considered if a 15% cut is a problem.

Plot Twist: It is not a problem. It is a necessity. KAIST, IBS, etc., are overfunded. To keep the budget high, they spend it even if they don’t need it… at least 15%. You would cry if you saw the stuff they throw away after one experiment because everybody wants new equipment to ensure perfect results (instead of sending used stuff out for calibration).

Chickenhead, you certainly do have a lot of reasons that you create out of your bird brain. Now explain this fact:

Since Yoon took over, South Korea’s press freedom and democracy ranking has tanked down to the far lower levels near Japan (defacto one-party state) and the United States where Trumpian rightwing racial nationalism (for example, look at yourself in the mirror) is on the rise. If everything’s hunky dory with South Korea’s democracy, why have South Korea’s freedom rankings tanked since the Moon administration?

Government have to live with in its means, can’t keep deficiet spending like a drunken sailor. Anyway, under commid moon most of the so called r&d spending was just bribes or payouts to the South Korean commies’ friends and family

So…

During the Moon juanta, small business was shut down, I was denied a social life, and there was a serious attempt to stop me from buying food if I didn’t submit to a failed medical experiment.

Yet I should be concerned becasue some anti-Korean cryptocommunists find it harder to spread their lies?

Yeah. Freedom and domocracy is suddenly at risk.

Gonna have to sell that one a bit harder.

Be aware, I am of the firm opinion that all parasitic collectivists, intrusive leftists, lying journalists, corrupt corporatists, grasping statists, greedy central planners, controlling globalists, and other destroyers of the productive middle class and debtslave traders, should be thrown from helicopters.

But give it a try.

Show me how freedom and democracy have hit a crisis between the Moon and Yoon administrations.

If Moon was that bad, what makes Yoon so much worse? The press freedom and democracy rankings by third-party international organizations don’t lie.

Korea Man, I watched the video, along with leftist commentary, of the last politician who got kicked out by Hitler Yoon.

Oddly, the video was selectively edited to hide the valid reason he was kicked out.

So what kind of press freedom are you saying is repressed? The freedom to lie?

No sympathy here.

Does anyone remember how Yoon’s Threat to Freedom and Democracy started?

When Yoon met with Biden, MBC subtitled an unintelligible hot mic from a distance and just made stuff up to make Yoon look bad.

The other lazy/leftist/lying media ran with the story as if was fact.

Freedom of the press is not freedom to lie.

Cracking down on a lying corrupt anti-Korean media is not cracking down on freedom and democracy.

Let’s see what the court had to say about this last month.

@Korean Man

Engaging in debates with these staunch Setnaffarian proponents is futile.

Their singular focus revolves around maintaining the perpetual presence of USFK in Korea, and they see Yoon as the linchpin to secure that objective.

They turn a blind eye to Yoon’s potential corruption, disregard for democratic principles, and the detrimental impact his leadership might have on the lives of ordinary Koreans.

Their loyalty remains unwavering as long as Yoon pledges to sustain USFK’s presence, regardless of the consequences.

However, it’s evident that their allegiance is shortsighted. With the impending presidency of Trump, a potential shift in policy could lead to negotiations with Kim Jong Un and the eventual withdrawal of USFK from Korea.

In this scenario, Yoon’s credibility will plummet, and the Setnaffarians, having no further use for him, will discard him without hesitation.

Then it will be us, the Koreans, who will have the last laugh.

During the Moon administration journalists were jailed for reporting facts. MBC should feel lucky they only were forced to retract their report for their fake news about Yoon.

I’m afraid that is continually showing that he does not understand how things in Korea work, which begs the question on how can he run a credible blog about Korea.

Simple fact checking may be the order of the day here.

In Korea, as in any other country, an individual can file a complaint against another person for defamation and libel.

If a settlement is reached, it ends there.

However, if a settlement is not reached, then the case will go before a judge, and if found guilty the person being sued can go to jail.

Libel and defamation cases are treated as criminal cases here, not civil cases, which means the police and prosecutors will be involved.

In the case of Byun Hee-jai, Sohn Suck-hee, currently the general director of JTBC, filed a complaint against him while Cho Kuk filed a complaint against Woo Jong-chan. Obviously the courts found them both guilty.

Simply put, these were cases involving individual complaints and not part of a government effort.

As for MBC, they were sanctioned by the Korea Communications Commission, a government organization, which is why no one went to jail.

The filing of defamation and libel complaints also works both ways, in the case below, where the ruling party(PPP) filed the complaint in question.

This has devolved into attacks on the moderator, a standard tactic.
Back to the leftist protestor: Why does he have priority over the official speaker, the person the audience was there to hear? He doesn’t. Would he go willingly? Obviously not. It took 4 males and a female to carry him away. Disgraceful.

Two points.

If a judge finds the Youtube journalists, who are being sued by the PPP, guilty of defamation then journalists will also have been jailed during the Yoon administration.

Of course you would state in the case above that they deserve to go to jail since they spread fake news about Kim Keonhee.

Which brings me to my second point that since the judges found the two journalists guilty of defamation and libel and sent them to jail as per Korean law, then obviously what they said about the tablet and Cho Kuk and such was fake news.

TOK, which law book were you reading when you came to the conclusion…

“that since the judges found the two journalists guilty of defamation and libel and sent them to jail as per Korean law, then obviously what they said about the tablet and Cho Kuk and such was fake news.”

Was it in one of those countries where the definitive defense against defamation and libel is… was it true?

…because it certainly wasn’t a Korean law book.

CH,

As per Article 310, the part about “public interest” is a bit of a bummer, but had those journalists proved that what they were claiming is true, with hard evidence, then they would’ve gotten off the hook.

If you can’t prove and back up your claims with evidence that means it may be all made up for the sake of gaining attention and clicks and subscribers to one’s Youtube channel.

ChickenHead

Very well, TOK.

What untrue claim did the reporters make and what was the actual truth.

Korean Person

It is interesting to note that and CH haven’t refuted Yoon and his cronies using the same tactics to silence their critics and the truth.

We can thus conclude that they aren’t interested in democracy and freedom of speech in Korea.

Instead they are interested in propping up a right wing dictatorship so that their precious USFK can stay in Korea forever.

It is also no secret that the reason that and setnaffa do not like Moon is because he denied them the opportunity to wank while viewing photos of joint ROK-US military exercises.

Do you seriously think they are interested in and understand Korea?

Heck, one of the Setnaffarians even use anti-Asian racial slurs!

GI, keep in mind, the anti-Korean and its socks are not here to improve its thinking by working through thought excercises, consider the validity of different points of view to improve its own, or expand its knowledge about how the world works.

It is a disruptor.

With no ability to create, it can only get attention by being a clown.

You can ask for the basis of its opinion. You can ask for it to disprove your statements. You can encourage it to introduce facts followed by its analysis.

But you won’t get any response beyond lies and irrationality. There is no other response it can give.

Engaging it is pointless.

However, it serves a valuable, if unintended, use. It gives openings for rational people to discuss important topics in useful ways.

While its intention is to destroy, it encourages a level of creation that would not exist if it stayed silent.

And the internet is forever.

For this, we should give thanks.

if Yoon is using the defamation law to jail people for reporting things that are true, just like the Korean leftists did, than I will criticize him as well.

The comment made by suggests that he will criticize the Yoon government if journalists are jailed for reporting true information.

Let’s take a closer look.

Firstly, the latest defamation case was brought forward by the PPP, and there is no evidence of Yoon’s direct involvement in it.

Therefore, may argue that Yoon is not using the defamation law to jail journalists.

However, that would imply that the Moon administration was not involved in using the defamation law to jail journalists, since those cases were brought forward by individuals.

Secondly, if the journalists are found guilty in the current case, may argue that they were spreading fake news and thus deserve to be jailed.

However, this would imply that the journalists who were found guilty during the Moon administration were also spreading fake news.

In essence, ’s statement about criticizing the Yoon government for jailing journalists has some deniability planted in it, which means that he can continue to claim that the left jails journalists while the right does not.

But at the end of the day, he ends up shooting his foot.
