In retrospect, if I were in charge I’m not sure I would have released information that there was a lab leak initially either. It’s not hard to fathom what the internet would do with that information (and we likely didn’t know for sure anyway…China was certainly not going to be forthcoming, and Xe was already threatening to not give us our medications).
People were already crazy. Can’t forget the image of some Mr “Coexist” with his Subaru packed with toilet paper in the parking lot and the store was out.
Didn’t help that the geriatric decomposing candidate and then president Biden kept talking about the “winter of death” we were going to receive.
Seems appropriate it is at least coming out now though.

Under Yoon’s extremely weak incompetent but despotic anti-democratic rule, Korea’s press rankings fall to Third World levels.
Liz, any idea what that document is that supposed to be? An email? a bank check? And what could possibly be redacted (top right) especially considering the bottom note was NOT redacted? What is left to redact!
Just add it to the ever-increasing pile of stuff from Bizarro World.

Pie in the sky by and by, if you don’t look too closely at the math… Kudos to Brian Wang for pointing out 1 < 548.
“In retrospect, if I were in charge I’m not sure I would have released information that there was a lab leak initially either.”
But everybody with two brain cells to rub together knew it was a lab leak almost immediately.
The first clue was that a bat corona virus that infects humans made its first appearance 100 meters from a laboratory that published papers on how to make bat corona viruses infect humans.
If that doesn’t make you think, you can’t think.
What we demonstrated is that:
– governement lies about everything, even when they don’t need to
– government lies too protect our enemies… in this case becasue our government was working with our enemies to make this virus fir reasons that are still not entirely clear
– most people can’t think… and they get angry if you try to get them to think
What would people do differently if the government said, “yes it clearly came from a lab” instead of “but animals”?
Nothing.
Except, they would ask questions. And the answers would have to be lies instead of “yes, we funded this and the funding decisions were made by the same guy telling you masks are useless, masks are good, two masks are correct, one shot of Safe & Effective will keep you from catching and spreading covid, blah blah blah, i meant boosters every 6 months means you won’t die as hard.”
The greatest thing about covid is it demonstrated how completely ignorant and stupid the average person is… and half of them are more ignorant and stupid than that.
Bonus: with a day of research on the internet combine with middle school microbiology knowledge, it clearly came from a lab and the vaccine could never work as promised.
Look back through everything i wrote from the beginning of covid and see nothing but correct predictions… except a more deadly strain… because more mild omicron suddenly hit… and it is very very very clear it was also made in a lab.
It was either a second lab leak of a mild strain intended to be used as an informal vaccine among insiders or it was intentionally released to head off a more deadly strain.
While this can be clearly demonstrated with science, most people don’t understand science. So good luck.

McGeehee…
egg is on my face on this one (though it was retweeted almost 2k times)
Apparently this is a parody account. It got me.
My apologies…though, yes CH, the fact it was a lab leak was pretty self evident from the beginning.
There are currently 1000 of our soldiers and 5000 contractors on the ground in Niger, unable to leave (the junta won’t allow airlift). This is a serious disaster that is getting essentially no attention whatsoever in the media right now.

A naturalized Korean citizen from Albania with a Korean wife was arrested, stripped of citizenship, and deported back to Albania for murdering a taxi driver back in Albania in 1995. There’s the picture of him in 1995, and the story of him after being deported.
Did you hear the one about the American soldier stationed in Korea who went to Vladovostok on his own and got arrested for stealing from a woman?
No opinion on this event yet, but my observation is that, from North Korea to China to Russia to Iran, everyone who has been arrested and “held hostage” was up to something clearly and stupidly criminal, even if we would consider it trivial.
Looking at the hundreds or thousands of Americans who are there at the same time and don’t get arrested and “held hostage”, one can’t help but think there is a behavioral lesson there.
We all knew this was true.
But honestly, I never thought I’d see the smoking gun. But here it is.

The guy’s mom says his girlfriend set him up.
Which…actually is pretty easy to believe.
