From Taiwan’s point of view, there’s no point for Taiwan to fall in line with the US, when they’re not militarily allied.

Why does America want to ban TikTok?
Sure, it is a great spying platform to know what American kids, skanks, and smoothbrains are up to.
Maybe in 20 years when little Billy runs for dog catcher, the Chinese will come to him and say, “Remeber this video where you said ‘tard instead of mentally differently abled? We own you, William. Always remember the Golden Dragon Buffet. And always remember, cats don’t go to the pound.”
But maybe the real reason is that unlike most other platforms, in which paid government cooperation is part of their business model, TikTok gets “paid” by creating doubt and disorder in American society…
