“EVERY AUTHORITARIAN REGIME TODAY IS CHECKING THEIR MOBILE DEVICES”

I propose it is the authoritarian regimes that are creating these devices.

The people standing up to them are the ones who need to do the checking.

Haha! Don’t think for a minute that I am seeking pity for Hezbollah.

I am simply pointing out the history of Gaza demonstrates that Israel is an authoritarian regime.

Hezbollah is not really a traditional authoritarian regime, but they are standing up to one, so my statement is valid.

But that doesn’t make them the heroes of the story.

There are no heroes in this story.

The guys making the Zohan memes about the pagers are pretty close to being heroes.

The second wave of explosions have made the entire country of Lebanon, and Hezbollah, paranoid of all electronics, including their phones.

It would seem Israel needs to attack now while Hezbollah is in disarray and has no alternative communication… but, they are likely 100% on top of it and will do what is best.

This was one of the most clever things ever, on so many levels.

The most clever part is how people self-selected for attack by carrying a terrorist organization’s communication device.

What can we take away so far?

Let’s look at some numbers:

“The popularity of Hezbollah remains sharply divided across sectarian lines. Whereas 34% of Sunnis and 29% of Christians express even a somewhat positive view of Hezbollah, 93% of Shia do so—with 89% saying they have a “very positive” opinion.”

And what was the result?

“People used to think if they were affiliated with Hezbollah but not fighters, they were effectively safe. But this changes everything. The pager attacks happened in areas where you thought they could never happen – Christian areas, for example. But Hezbollah are everywhere in Lebanon and you can’t know who is who.

There is one small silver lining, perhaps. The attacks have brought a sense of togetherness across the country. People from Sunni and Christian neighbourhoods have been queueing to donate blood. Even those who loathe Hezbollah have condemned this attack. But as a Lebanese person, the last two days have left me deeply saddened. There is a sense of fear that I’ve never felt before. And if these attacks continue, that fear will only grow.”

Before, it was hard to know who was Hezbollah. Now you know.

And what happenened? Instead of using this information to build togetherness and take back the Paris of the Mediterranean, even people who “loathe Hezbollah” are condemning the removal of their yoke and licking the boot that kicks them.

People deserve what they accept.

Nobody should pity the Lebonese.

So the current labor government in England, the current government in Germany, the current government in Ukraine, the current government in the United States should all be checking their phones?
