Kim Jong-un Meets with Russia’s Defense Minister

It is ironic that North Korea is claiming imperialists are threatening Russia’s territory when it is the imperialist Russians that have taken Ukrainian territory:

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has met Russia’s visiting defense minister and expressed his support for Russia’s war against Ukraine, state media reported Saturday, amid deepening military cooperation between the two nations.

Kim had a “friendly and trustworthy” meeting with Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov in Pyongyang on Friday, according to the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).

Belousov arrived in North Korea the previous day for a visit that came as North Korea has sent thousands of its troops to Russia in support of Moscow’s war against Ukraine. (……..)

He affirmed that “the DPRK government, army and people will invariably support the policy of the Russian Federation to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity from the imperialists’ moves for hegemony,” the KCNA said, using the acronym of North Korea’s official name.

Well, I still don’t like Ukraine; but this and the similar meeting with a Rooskie in China are leading up to more attempts to intimidate South Korea, Japan, and the Philippines from sidingbwith Yaiwan.

Russia has plenty of stuff for defense; but they’ve proven rather poor on offense.

China keeps showing their panty lines as their banks are starting to collapse and Xi is having to run more purges in the CCP and PLA.

Norkistani Pasha is having his moment in the sun, tweaking China’s nose for the moment; but he’s on a short leash.

I wish them all they deserve; but I hope for peace because in war it is the poor who suffer the most.

The media has certainly marketed Russia’s slow advance as weakness/inability/etc.

Another way to look at it is through the known strategy of rapidly taking enemy territory, fortifying it, and letting the enemy emotionally try to get it back.

Russia did this and Ukraine sent wave after wave across minefields to attack entrenched Russians.

Since Russia contols the air and has better ranged weapons, this has been a good plan that appears to have resulted in disproportionate Ukrainian losses. This is more important in the long run than territory.

It appears now that the Ukranian military has been weakened to the point Russia can advance more quickly without unreasonable losses.

The war is going to end as we always knew it would, at least for Ukraine.

It is unclear about the rest of the countries nearby who keep escalating.

CH, my only “real” critique of the Rooskies military tactics was their failure to provide resupply of fuel, ammunition, and so on, while also missing out on medevac capabilities in their initial drive on Kiev.

Nowhere near enough trucks for offense were supplied.

I was forced to conclude the Russians were just trying to kill off Chechans and reduce their stock of 2nd rate tanks and other AFVs.

As I stated earlier, I don’t really like Russia or Ukraine, so my only concerns about the so-called war is how many innocents are slain and how much of my tax dollars are laundered to the Biden and Romney crime families.
