Picture of the Day: Korean Air’s New Airplane Branding
|
A Boeing 787-10 aircraft of Korean Air Co., South Korea’s flagship air carrier, bears the airline’s new aircraft livery, or the exterior insignia for planes, during a publicity event at its hangar in Seoul on March 11, 2025. The new design prominently displays “KOREAN” in large lettering on the aircraft’s forward fuselage but without “AIR” from the company’s full name. (Pool photo) (Yonhap)
Updated advertising is often a great thing.
Looks good.
Seems like a lot of airlines are rebranding these days.
American airlines need to rebrand these days for sure. Everyday there’s an accident on the runway. There was another near mishap yesterday. 12th such accident since Donald Trump got rid of the FAA people.
There were apparently a lot of kids in KM’s family dropped on their heads, making them unable to use Google.
I was able to google this news from yesterday.

Airline accidents and incidents result of DEI hiring during the Biden admin by both companies and government. DEI Hiring of pilots, flight crew, mechanics, controllers….None merit or ability based, only based on skin color and/or sexual kinks. We will suffer from these policies for years to come.
you didn’t have 12 airplane incidents in a row within two months, during the Biden administration, even with the DEI. Is it a coincidence that this many air accidents are happening right after FAA cuts, after Trump took over? We still got 9 more months before the year is out. How many more accidents to come?
This is probably not the topic for you, KM.
Yes, there were airplane accidents when Biden was president (more even…Biden’s first month in office saw 61 aviation accidents and incidences, 12 of them fatal. National Transportation Safety Board has recorded more than 1100 aviation accidents and incidents each year for the past decade.
They didn’t fire air traffic controllers, they are attempting to hire more.
The accident that happened in DC was undermanned because they were using 2021 covid guidelines that allowed them to be understaffed. Which was obviously a mistake. Thanks Biden. Or perhaps the bootyjudge guy in charge of transportation.
I’ll bet Korean Man is a real fun guy to be around at parties. Oh wait, he doesn’t get invited to anything. He’s so delusional from sniffin’ the fumes from the benjo ditch he lived next to all his life.
Compared to 85, right after Donald Trump took power and fired all those safety inspectors and air traffic controllers. And there’s still 9 months to go.

The NTSB doesn’t classify aviation accidents in terms of “crashes,” but its data show that former Presidents Barack Obama and Joe Biden each had more aviation accidents in their first month in office than Trump did in the first month of his second term.
Cassie Baloue, Swalwell’s spokesperson, told PolitiFact he was referring to “the two major commercial air disasters that occurred in the first month of Trump’s current presidency.”
During the first month of Biden’s term, there were 61 aviation accidents and incidents, 12 fatal. Two of them involved commercial air carriers, but neither was fatal nor involved a crash.
In the first month of Obama’s first term in 2009, investigators recorded 88 aviation accidents and incidents — three involving commercial air carriers — with 19 of them resulting in a total of 89 fatalities.
One New York crash killed 50 people.
When my father in law was an airline pilot, it took a minimum of about 18 years as an FO to become a Captain for a major airline. Now it is 6 years (IIRC). That’s because there has been a very big pilot shortage. This started in the military as they cut pilot slots and RIFed them out. When my spouse applied for the airlines about 12 years ago, they had so many pilots it was rare for them to hire. Then all the Vietnam era pilots started retiring enmasse. They didn’t have enough military pilots to fill the gaps and viola…pilot shortage.
The individual airlines have their own schools now but it takes a lot time to train and it is expensive since they no longer have the military pipeline like they used to. The pilot shortage in the military will continue because they don’t have the instructors. At first, they tried to get a lot of new student pilot slots but then realized that just resulted in a lot of LTs sitting around with nothing to do because they didn’t have the instuctors to train them. Then there was the problem with the new trainer planes (know someone who had to wait 2 years after graduation to start his class, I think this is common).
Everyone in the aviation industry knew for years this would be a problem.
Shoot, first comment is awaiting approval. Probably the link.
I’ll just post the text portion of my comment here:

It is true that DEI didn’t help at all. Hiring unqualified people based on their physical attributes is not a recipe for success obviously.
But we would have had the problem of inexperienced pilots either way, primarily for the above reason.
Yikes. Definitely a DEI air traffic control hire.

On a similar note, this on the TSA:
“TSA has more people doing full-time union work than we have performing screening functions at 86% of our airports. Of the 432 federalized airports, 374 airports have fewer than 200 TSOs to perform screening functions.
Nearly 200 TSOs are paid by the government but work full-time on union matters. These people do not retain certification to perform screening functions. Additionally, in a recent TSA employee survey, over 60% said poor performers are allowed to stay employed and, not surprisingly, continue to not perform.”
This month, collective bargaining for the TSA was just eliminated.
This is exactly what I voted for. I just didn’t think I’d see it this fast (or ever, I was just hoping).
The TSA is one giant DEI dumping ground filled with dark skin, surly attitudes, and incompetence.
That is clear to any objective observer who flys a lot.
On the other hand, my last trip through LAX was quite unexpected, as everyone was super friendly with no obvious incompetence.
I know a guy who went to work for the TSA. He said it was a toxic cesspit and went on to be a smalltown cop.
