Black Protester Beaten And Kicked As Trump Says ‘Get Him The Hell Out Of Here’

Trump sics supporters on black protester who gets beaten and kicked.

This can only make Trump more popular with his racist GOPers ~
http://www.rawstory.com/2015/11/get-him-the-hell-out-of-here-trump-sics-supporters-on-black-protester-who-gets-beaten-and-kicked/
“CNN reporter Jeremy Diamond posted video to Twitter of a black protester being shoved down, punched, kicked and tackled during a political rally for Trump in Birmingham, Alabama — a city with a long history of racial violence.

In the video, Trump can be heard continuing to speak in the background, then can be heard saying, “Get him the hell out of here,” as the crowd jeers.

According to Diamond, the protester seemed to be saying, “Black lives matter,” to which at least one Trump supporter responded, “All lives matter.” He was tackled to the ground, punched and kicked by white Trump supporters.”

Mess with Trump and you get your azz beat and thrown out on your tin horn.

Trump is a refreshing breath of fresh air after watching Obama… best described as a wuss in both domestic and international settings.

It is hard to know if this is the best way to deal with the Black Lies Matter crowd… but it certainly beats the helplessness and easy acquiescence by both Hillary and Bernie… an indication how they would let a small number of the lowest but loudest of the inmates set the agenda in the national asylum. Obama has simply encouraged and empowered this disorder.

One can only hope, after the election, there will be the same treatment for illegals and anti-American “refugees”… while America concentrates on employing Americans while reducing dependence… and putting resources into rebuilding physical infrastructure instead of building an increasingly intrusive security infrastucture to solve self-created problems.

To bad they didn’t let Trump be president.

Louisiana Bar Stamps N-Word On Black Woman’s Hand(Photo)
Who would even have a hand stamp made this way?
http://www.opposingviews.com/i/society/louisiana-bar-stamped-n-word-black-womans-hand-photo
Taylor Ward, a freshman at Louisiana State University, joined her friends for a night out on Nov. 17 at Reggie’s Bar in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
When she entered the bar her hand was stamped with an acronym that read, “REGGIN.” If read backwards, it spells out the N-word, LSU Reveille reports.
“The bar stamped our hands at the door, and shortly after I noticed that the stamp spelled n-gger backwards. I immediately showed my friends,” Ward told CLUTCH.
When she brought the stamp’s backward spelling to the attention of a manager he was not sympathetic.
“It’s just a stamp,” the manager said…

Syrian Refugees Are NOT A Threat To America: The Numbers
http://www.forbes.com/sites/katiesola/2015/11/20/syria-refugees/
“The days following the Paris attacks have seen a backlash against Syrian refugees. The governors of 31 states have refused to accept Syrian refugees, citing security fears. But the numbers don’t back them up.

Here are a few powerful statistics. Only 2 percent of Syrian refugees admitted to America are males of military age. 50 percent are children, and 25 percent are above the age of 65, according to the the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants.

There are very few Syrian refugees in the United States. Since Oct. 1 2012, a total of 2,128 of the world’s four million Syrian refugees have been resettled across the United States, with 4,900 more in the pipeline. That’s hardly the unmanageable torrent some Republicans are fearfully describing. Six of the states that are refusing to accept refugees have not had a single refugee settle there since 2012.

For comparison, the U.S. State Department issues visas to tens of thousands of tourists and students each year. They go through some security checks, but they avoid the stringent refugee screening process.

It takes at least four years for refugees to be approved to enter the U.S.. The United Nations High Commissioner For Refugees (UNHCR) puts refugees through its own two-year screening process before referring them to the U.S.. The American screening process takes about another two years as well.

Lavinia Limon, the chief executive officer of USCRI points out that that’s a long time for undercover terrorists to wait. ”It seems to me that terror networks are better funded than to keep someone in a refugee camp for four years to hope that they’ll be the half of one percent that will get to come in,” she said. “That’s not very efficient!” She pointed out that some of the attackers were French citizens, so they could have come to New York without needing a visa.

Once they get that UNHCR referral, refugees are vetted by a high number of American agencies. Lee Williams of USCRI names a few. “We know they go through the CIA, the FBI, the national counter-terrorism database, and the Department of Defense,” he said. Then they’re vetted by “agencies with acronyms that none of us know about,” he added, describing the process as a “black box.”

GOP governors are racist
G.O.P. Governors Vow to Close Doors to Syrian Refugees
http://www.nytimes.com/2015/11/17/us/politics/gop-governors-vow-to-close-doors-to-syrian-refugees.html?_r=0
“Republican fury over illegal immigration and border security took on a new dimension Monday as a growing number of governors, presidential candidates and members of Congress rushed to oppose or even defy President Obama’s plan to resettle 10,000 Syrian refugees.

Twenty-five Republican governors vowed to block the entry of Syrian refugees into their states, arguing that the safety of Americans was at stake after the Paris attacks by terrorists including a man who entered Europe with a Syrian passport and posed as a migrant. Among the governors were those from Illinois, Massachusetts, Texas and other states that have already resettled relatively large numbers of refugees from among the 1,900 Syrians accepted by the United States in the last four years.”

Elle Magazine Tells Women How it is, unlike most other media outlets as they’re hungry for war just like the GOP WAR HAWKS & WAR DOGS ❗
http://www.elle.com/culture/news/a32006/dont-block-syrian-refugees/
1. It’s the wrong call on the facts. So far, all the Paris attackers identified are European nationals. No one was an actual refugee. A falsified Syrian passport was used, but so far there has been no evidence that a radicalized refugee was involved.

2. It’s the wrong call on the merits. Refugees are “the single most vetted population” entering the U.S., according to International Rescue Committee CEO David Milliband (never mind that it is a long and arduous process to even be considered) As The Economist puts it, “If a potential terrorist is determined to enter America to do harm, there are easier and faster ways to get there than by going through the complex refugee resettlement process,” an extensive vetting that “can take up to three years.”

3. It’s the wrong call on the context. Syrian refugees are fleeing the exact sort of violence that we saw in Paris last week. (“No one puts their children in a boat unless the water is safer than the land,” goes the poem by Warsan Shire.)

4. It’s the wrong call on the players. Syrian refugees are not members of ISIS. In addition to running from Assad’s Syria and the civil war that has torn apart their country for the past four years, Syrian refugees are also fleeing ISIS, opting to risk the perils of smuggled border crossings to life in the so-called caliphate. ISIS knows this and resents the refugees for it, calling them out in its propaganda. ISIS and the refugees are not on the same side.

5. It’s the wrong call on the history. The White House Instagram points out that Sergey Brin, founder of Google, and Madeleine Albright, former secretary of state, both came to the United States as refugees. So did Albert Einstein and Sigmund Freud. And just three decades ago, in 1975, President Gerald Ford set up a task force to resettle 130,000 refugees from South Vietnam in the United States after the fall of Saigon. Thirty years later, we’re willing to allow only a fraction of that figure, just 10,000 Syrian refugees—and somehow Republicans can’t even stomach that.

6. It’s the wrong call on the logic. ISIS wants to paint itself as the heroic protagonist in the epic war between Islam and the West. “The more the West treats [the refugees] with suspicion and fear,” notes Vox’s Zack Beauchamp, “the more it supports ISIS’s narrative of a West that is hostile to Muslims and bolsters ISIS’s efforts to recruit from migrant communities in Europe.” This is only reinforced by Jeb Bush and Ted Cruz carving out a special exception for Christians. Which, incidentally…..

7. It’s the wrong call on the logic, again. As Fusion’s Kevin Roose points out, there have been no incidents of domestic terrorism committed by refugees since 9/11. In comparison, since September 11, 2001, in attacks on U.S. soil, “nearly twice as many people have been killed by white supremacists, antigovernment fanatics, and other non-Muslim extremists than by radical Muslims, reports The New York Times.

8. Again: It’s the wrong call on the logic. As the LOLGOP Twitter account put it:
“If you think fertilized eggs are people but refugee kids aren’t, you’re going to have to stop pretending your concerns are religious.”

Or, another tweet making the rounds ~

“So you think an unadorned Starbucks cup is a war on Christmas, but then close your borders to refugees from the middle east. Ironic? Tragic?”

Or, because Texas state Rep. Tony Dale argues that Texas shouldn’t take in Syrian refugees because it would be way too easy for them to buy a gun. You’ve got a nice selection here. Take your pick.

9. It’s the wrong call, morally. Period.

There are probably lots more reasons why the position of the GOP on blocking any safe haven for Syrian refugees is reprehensible. It comes down to what kind of a nation you want to be. As an immigrant, I guess it’s not for me to say how this country should go. But as an immigrant, I can hope. And then I can make a donation, write this article, and include a link to contact your elected representatives.

And then I can look at my daughter, and hope a little more.”

So why aren’t other CNN(FoxNOTnews etc…) journalists suspended for fear-mongering and more?

http://www.adweek.com/tvnewser/glenn-greenwald-says-media-hungry-for-war/278101
“The journalist Glenn Greenwald believes cable news has an incentive to encourage conflict in the aftermath of the Paris attacks. “The American media benefits immensely from war,” Greenwald said in an interview with Democracy Now.

Journalists are hungry for war,” Greenwald said. “You can basically see them drooling.”

Greenwald said “a huge number of people watch CNN and MSNBC when there are wars,” and pointed to President Obama’s news conference in Turkey, “where (journalists) tried to badger him into sending ground troops.”

Greenwald suggested journalists can’t resist the lure of war:

Xenophobic gun nuts stalked Muslims at a Texas mosque worried about refugees and Sharia Law.
Texas Mosque Stalked by Armed Protestors ‘We Want To Show Force’
How about those in the Mosque go kick and punch those white men to the ground ❓ You know, like how those white men did the same to a black protester at a Trump racist speech ❓
http://www.rawstory.com/2015/11/armed-protesters-stalk-peaceful-muslims-at-texas-mosque-we-want-to-show-force/
“The group, calling itself the Bureau of American Islamic Relations, stationed itself outside the Islamic Center of Irving carrying signs with messages like, “Stop the Islamization of America,” according to the Dallas Morning News. A video taken at the mosque shows a man dressed in black with his face masked carrying a rifle.

The group’s leader told the News they were upset because they had heard rumors of a Sharia court at the mosque and the prospect of letting Syrian refugees in. They also claimed members of the local Muslim community had made death threats against Irving’s mayor, Beth Van Duyne, earlier this year. The News found no evidence that this claim was true.

When asked by the News why his group was armed, organizer David Wright said the weapons were “mostly for self protection,” but then added, “But I’m not going to lie. We do want to show force. We’re not sitting ducks.”

He then added,“We don’t want people to think we’re out to kill people or shoot people. It would be ridiculous to protest Islam without defending ourselves.”

“Show us two [anti-American “refugees”] in America right now”

How about TEN?

…so far this year.

http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2015/11/17/here-are-10-major-terrorism-cases-brought-against-refugees-and-legal-immigrants-just-this-year-in-the-u-s/

Though, technically, the one that was killed after killing four military personnel in Chattanooga may or may not be consideted to be “in America”.

Let’s replace him with the surviving Boston Bomber to keep it an even ten.

Do you need more examples from other years?

“Here are a few powerful statistics. Only 2 percent of Syrian refugees admitted to America are males of military age. 50 percent are children, and 25 percent are above the age of 65, according to the the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants.”

…more like powerful lies.

The U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants is a private organization that makes its money keeping the refugee pipeline open and flooding. The media ran with these numbers as fact… but the actual numbers from a primary government source have been kept conspicuously obscured. This is one of many tricks the government uses to lie directly while being able to honestly backtrack if found out.

In the end, America has some serious social and economic problems which need to be solved before assisting those who would rather flee their problems than deal with them… and, in some cases, bring their problems with them.

Limbaugh: Trump Doing A ‘Great Service’

What “attacks” has Trump been taking on ❓ Questions on Racist Trump tweets/comments etc… don’t count as “attacks.”

Trump rarely does anything but FoxNOTnews and they treat him with kid gloves ❗

…Trump is, I think, doing a great service,” Limbaugh said on “Fox News Sunday.” “He is showing that you do not have to fear attacks from media.”“He’s showing you do not have to fear being politically correct or violating political correctness,” Limbaugh added.
The radio host also weighed in on other 2016 candidates. He said Ben Carson is “one of the most decent human beings in the country,” but not equipped to be president “at this stage.”
“But any of these Republicans running would be better than Hillary [Clinton] or what we’ve got now,” Limbaugh said. “So based on that comparison, yes, I’d vote for him if it were up to him and Hillary.”
He praised Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) as “brilliant” and “conservative through and through.”

US military helicopter crashes in South Korea, killing 2

SEOUL, South Korea – A U.S. military helicopter crashed in South Korea on Monday, killing two people on board, police said.

The AH-64 Apache helicopter crashed on a road in Wonju, about 80 miles east of Seoul, a Wonju police officer said on condition of anonymity because he wasn’t authorized to speak to media about the accident.

Two bodies recovered from the helicopter were severely damaged and officials couldn’t immediately confirm their identities, the officer said.

He said there were no reports of casualties on the ground, and that he had no further details.

South Korea’s Yonhap news agency cited unidentified officials as saying the helicopter may have hit high-voltage power lines or a nearby steel tower because wires were found near the crashed aircraft and the upper part of the tower was damaged.

The fourth verse pf the Star-Spangled Banner isn’t often sung; but it is part of our national character:

“O thus be it ever when freemen shall stand
Between their lov’d home and the war’s desolation!
Blest with vict’ry and peace may the heav’n rescued land
Praise the power that hath made and preserv’d us a nation!
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto – “In God is our trust,”
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave.”

I wish someone would read it to President Stompy-foot McMom-jeans.

White Police Chief: ‘Ni**ers Gotta Learn How To Read’

I’ll have another white police man murdering another black man video soon ❗

The highly educated and erudite new police chief of Farrel, PA used this language during a book drive.
http://www.rawstory.com/2015/11/nrs-gotta-learn-how-to-read-white-pennsylvania-police-chief-uses-racial-slur-in-book-drive-fundraiser/
“…the email was discovered just days after Thomas Burke was sworn in by the City of Farrell as the new police chief last Monday. He is scheduled to begin the job in January.

“Good morning,” the email begins. “Please click and review. Even $1.00 will be greatly appreciated. Them [Town of] Sharon n****s gotta learn how to read.”

Burke reportedly sent the letter to about a dozen friends and colleagues while working in the security department at a local steel mill.

City of Farrell Councilwoman Stephanie Sheffield said that Burke showed up at her home with a written apology after the letter became public.

“I immediately said dismissal,” Sheffield told WICU. “He came and knocked on my door this morning with an apology letter, and how he is very familiar with our community and our area with some of the issues that we have going on here.

Sheffield said that Burke explained “that he does use the N-word very often because that’s just the way that it is here our area.”

Trumps Racist Fantasy which EGGHEAD and EGGHEAD Jr. believe ~

http://thehill.com/blogs/ballot-box/presidential-races/261044-trump-doubles-down-thousands-in-nj-cheered-on-9-11
“Trump said at a rally on Saturday in Birmingham, Ala. that he watched as the World Trade Center “came tumbling down.”“And I watched in Jersey City, New Jersey, where thousands and thousands of people were cheering as that building was coming down,” he added. “Thousands of people were cheering.

ABC “This Week” host George Stephanopoulos asked Trump on Sunday if he misspoke, noting that “police say that didn’t happen and all those rumors have been on the Internet for some time.”

“It did happen. I saw it, “ Trump said. “It was on television. I saw it.”

“George, it did happen,” Trump persisted.

“There were people that were cheering on the other side of New Jersey, where you have large Arab populations,” he said. “They were cheering as the World Trade Center came down.”

You don’t care about black people. If you really did, you would be against illegal immigrants who take away their job opportunities and you would be against squandering the obscene amount of resources needed to import and settle non-Americans that could be better spent improving healthcare, education, or living conditions of disadvantaged black Americans.

Tbone, I will start believing that black lives matter when the people that tell me black lives matter start acting like black lives matter.

Right Wing Media Launches New War on Reason, Reality
When I dared ask conservatives to tone down violent rhetoric after Paris, they responded with death threats

I like this Chauncey DeVega guy 😎

http://www.salon.com/2015/11/16/after_paris_right_wing_media_launches_new_war_on_reason_reality/
“…I concluded with the following basic suggestion. In the face of real terrorism in the streets of Paris and elsewhere, with broken and bloodied bodies, families in mourning, and a country in a state of emotional and psychic shock, perhaps America’s right-wing media, and conservatives en masse, should seriously reconsider their casual use of violent rhetoric.

The right-wing media and its supplicants responded with apoplectic rage.

Right-wing websites such as Breitbart, Twitchy, The Blaze, and NewsBusters featured headlines denouncing Salon and my essay on the Paris terror attacks.

Right-wing thugs threatened to kill me and blow up the offices of Salon. Beyond their violent rhetoric, the right-wing cretins who were outraged by my essay also showed themselves to be profoundly delusional. Some of these confused souls even believe that I am an ISIS “sympathizer” or “agent” (quite odd given that I have long advocated for a far more robust and aggressive military policy than has been taken by the Obama administration).

This is not a surprise. America’s conservatives are in the grip of an infantile and reactionary ideology that causes them to respond like bratty children, throwing temper tantrums in the political and public sphere, whenever they are faced with basic facts and truths that cannot be reconciled within their deranged and fantastical world view….”

“…At bond court, prosecutors said Van Dyke opened fire six seconds after exiting his squad car as McDonald was walking away from him at 41st Street and Pulaski Road.

Van Dyke then fired 16 rounds at McDonald in about 14 seconds and was reloading when another officer told him to hold his fire, prosecutors said at bond court.

Judge Donald Panarese Jr. ordered Van Dyke held without bail until the judge can view the video Monday.

“I believe it’s pertinent for a bond hearing,” Panarese said of the video. “I’m sorry, but I’m holding you no bail until Monday.”

Clad in a brown sweatshirt, a white shirt and bluejeans, Van Dyke showed no emotion as he was led from the courtroom in custody.

Prosecutors sought to have the veteran officer held without bail until his trial. But Van Dyke’s lawyer, Daniel Herbert, objected, saying the officer was not a risk to flee.

“We believe we have a valid defense in this case,” Herbert said.

After court, Herbert, who has previously said Van Dyke feared for his life, questioned the filing of first-degree murder charges.

“Despite what you heard in that courtroom, this is not a murder case,” he told reporters.

The one-page criminal complaint lodged against Van Dyke charged him with shooting McDonald “without legal justification and with the intent to kill or do great bodily harm.”

White Masked Racists Shoot @BlackLivesMatter protest in Minnesota, injure 5 while 2 of the white racists were caught/are being held ❗ Cops were aware of the white man racist threat(BlackLivesMatter informed them) but didn’t take it seriously. 🙄
“Black Lives Matters Activists Vow Not to Cower After 5 Are Shot’
http://www.nytimes.com/2015/11/25/us/minneapolis-shooting-protest-police-jamar-clark.html?_r=0
“…Activists remained critical of the police, saying that officers did not properly respond during the shooting and that they had lost trust in the department.

“Despite earlier statements from police about the impending threat from white supremacists, the police instead Maced citizen journalists and peaceful protesters” after the shooting, Miski Noor, an organizer with Black Lives Matter Minneapolis, said during a brief news conference on Tuesday. “They made disparaging comments to those at the protests instead of taking the threat seriously. We reiterate that we have zero faith in this Police Department’s desire to keep our community safe.”

Tbone, I have developed such a severe case of afrofatigue that I no longer care if police kill yet another drugged-up unsocialized ghetto rat for waving a knife around in public even if there is a less violent solution… or even if the trouble-stirring media and politically-motivated legal system would have everyone belive so.

There is nothing to defend or condemn.

From all appearances, that video looks like it depicts a very bad shoot.

If the kid really did have a knife and wasn’t complying, I could understand the officer shooting to stop a threat at that range. I don’t understand why he continued to shoot when the kid was down and likely no longer posing a threat.

I’m not speaking for Chickenhead but I am guessing he won’t defend this.

The police may not have been the (only) ones sitting on this case though I am sure they would have been happy if it had been successfully swept under. The city of Chicago seems to have been fighting to keep this one under lock and key. This did happen 4 months before Rahm Emanuel was up for re-election.

Hey CH,

What do you make of the Russian fighter jet shoot down?

Turkey trying to assert their airspace or get some payback for border towns with Turkmen residents being bombed? Russia trying to test the waters or possibly start a broader conflict?

Either way the prospect of Russia and a NATO country in conflict doesn’t sound good to me.

“What do you make of the Russian fighter jet shoot down?”

It sure sounds intentionally provocative… meaning Turkey had no real reason to feel directly threatened by a Russian aircraft straying into its border for a few seconds.

There are levels of response to this… from quietly calling in the ambassador and asking for an apology to expressing indigence and outrage in the media to chasing the plane into a third country and shooting it down. This response was on the high end of that scale for reasons that are not fully clear right now.

It could be that Turkey, not pleased with Russian meddling to begin with, wanted to send a very clear message that its limits should not be tested.

…or it could be the USA wants to generate larger and more open conflict in the region and would like to draw in as many other countries into the conflict as possible via the entangling alliances of NATO.

The end goal here is likely to establish very clear sides to this conflict and a well-defined battleground that has little effect on the major players… meaning everything from Syria to Pakistan can be carpetbombed by NATO and the Russians… to even things up and prolong the conflict while the inhabitants all fight each other to the point of exhaustion… but, apart from a few terrorist attacks whenever domestic support for perpetual war starts to slide, the conflict can’t spill out into more civilized areas.

Turkey (perhaps with US encouragement) has now clearly defined where the Russians are allowed to play and where they cannot.

Of course the entire situation is not simple… as there are many micro-conflicting alliances based on religion, culture, and history… but that will mostly work itself out via apathy, secret support, or outright betrayal. The Kurds is a good example… there are others.

Whatever the case, the Russians likely understand their limits in this respect but will be eagerly looking for a chance to demonstrate their own proposed limits the moment Turkey, or perhaps other members of NATO, do anything where an attack can be thinly justified.

This is how things escalate.

Everyone wants things to escalate in a controlled fashion.

“What is your real name EGGHEAD so that I report your racism to the authorities?”

…because “authorities” have nothing better to do than track down those expressing First Amendment-protected non-threatening thoughts on culturalism that can be somewhat warped into racism by those looking for trouble.

Let me help…

http://www.unitednations.com/racismdirectoratest/whinycomplaintsbywhinybiitches.html

“I’m not speaking for Chickenhead but I am guessing he won’t defend this.”

Yeah… maybe.

One one hand, it sure seems excessive, and perhaps even unnecessary, at first glance.

On the other, it has become so tiring to see dangerous drugged-up sub-humans with long repeat-offender criminal records caught red-handed engaged in crime and then completely disrupting society though threatening public actions… and those are just the first-order effects that make the country a more miserable place to live in. Second-order effects, from erosion of resources to focus of attention away from more important issues compound the situation.

While due process through a clear legal framework overseen by wise, knowledgeable, and impartial managers is an important legal concept for a civilized nation, it only works when everyone is on the program. That includes politicians and the media.

Breaking into cars while on drugs and then brandishing a weapon is so divergent from civilized society that it seems the protections of the legal system were not designed for it… perhaps should not be designed for it… as it falls into the category of unnecessary bureaucracy… a parody of itself that dilutes the merits of its good intentions… as if one needed to apply for a permit prior to stepping on a cockroach.

With this in mind, it is hard to find sympathy for the “victim” who openly and intentionally engaged in activity in which there is no ambiguity over its destructive effects on individuals and society. It is hard to condemn the officer who, speaking realistically, has likely saved any number of Americans from becoming a crime statistic and has saved untold resources that can be better directed to those more deserving.

The legal system recognizes immediate threats… and the officer would have been fully in the right to use deadly force had he been directly threatened… but the legal system does not recognize the use of deadly force in secondary threats to society… at least to individuals.

…own an “arsenal” of “illegal” guns while espousing anti-government views and deadly force will unashamedly be used despite no victim, no action, and no actual threat.

But that’s all philosophical. Let’s look at the incident.

Little Laquan was engaged in numerous felonies. He was openly carrying a weapon with the very real possibility of having a concealed gun. He had demonstrated that he was fearless and would attack by slashing the tires on a police car. He would not comply with commands. He was demonstrating behavior consistent with drug use, making him a higher level of irrational, unpredictable, and dangerous.

Police are trained to recognize signs of different types of drug use and police are very aware that “PCP causes ordinary, law-abiding citizens to engage in extremely violent, psychotic behavior”.

In the situation presented in the video, Laquan could have turned on the police, run the short distance, and fatally attacked them with the knife even if they had all been shooting at him. There are numerous cases of this both with and without drug use… and police are VERY aware of this… as it is a big part of training. It was also why the FBI went from 9mm to 10mm after a guy got shot up yet still managed to kill FBI agents (1986 FBI Miami Shootout).

So that is what the cops, not the armchair quarterbacks, were up against on that dark and stormy night.

Two questions… was the shooting correct and was the number of shots fired correct?

The media and BLM want to discuss the number of shots as much as anything else to demonstrate “brutality”. It really has little bearing on the shooting being justified or not. While the armchair quarterbacks like to focus on this, it is hard not to side with a cop, actually facing the threat, that he might be justified in insuring the threat was completely neutralized once he made the decision to neutralize it. His partner gingerly approaching and kicking the knife away indicated that other cops felt threatened. The signs of drug use, probably recognizable by the cops as one that makes user more dangerous rather than more mellow and sloppy, add to this threat.

Was the shooting justified? Good question. While Laquan didn’t do anything specific at that moment, he was an existing deadly threat to those around him. This is not a case of “unarmed man shot by police for jaywalking”.

Was it first degree murder? Of course not. Every time these charges are made, it is like the entire legal system is winking at each other and laughing behind the public’s back. The media dutifully goes along… fluffing up FIRST DEGREE MURDER with no explanation that the requirements for first degree murder are clearly not satisfied. The uneducated masses are happy with the charges… as there is so often a confusion between charges, guilt, and conviction.

Was it poor policing? Maybe. Perhaps the police should not have put themselves into a situation where they felt threatened… keeping more distance so they had time to respond to a direct threat instead of moving closer where the potential threat could uncontrollably become an actual one.

…which begs the question… what should they have done?

Should they have kept distance until… until… until Laquan curled up and went to sleep? As is frequently the case, everyone is quick to condemn the actions of the police but are completely unable to offer reasonable alternatives… or any alternatives. It would be nice if anyone could make some suggestions how they would have handled this with officer/public safety as the primary concern.

In the end, this is a problem because it is sloppy… a cop driving up and quickly opening fire with no overt threat in the presence of cops who were seemingly managing the situation. Emptying his gun into a (still moving) body on the ground adds to the appearance of lack of control.

With this in mind, he probably should not be a cop. The degree of criminality is unclear. It is not first degree murder.

This situation is not a flashbang-fueled no-knock warrant at the wrong address because little Laquan had a dime bag of pot… something the media never seems interested in… and something the police seldom are held accountable for. This was a dangerous felon with very real victims who presented a continuing threat to the order of society and a somewhat immediate threat to those around him.

Society should have less toleration for serial scumbags than for sloppy cops who solve these problems with good outcomes. Society should have less toleration for institutionally bad cops doing premeditated bad things.

Instead obvious career criminals get championed, usually based on race, and average cops thrown into sudden stressful situations with fascist-tinged and somewhat paranoid-based training get demonized.

CH: “It sure sounds intentionally provocative… meaning Turkey had no real reason to feel directly threatened by a Russian aircraft straying into its border for a few seconds.”

Yes. During the Cold War they had some very strict rules in place designed to prevent WWIII inadvertently from something like this, which could obviously escalate. I wonder what sorts of rules are in place now, if any?

I think the worst part of the video is that he keeps shooting for a significant amount of time after the kid was on the ground. The defense might have been able to justify the initial shots, but they will have a tough time getting anyone to believe the continual firing on a downed suspect is justified. That just doesn’t sit well with most people, I believe.

You are right though, Chickenhead. Probably doesn’t warrant first degree murder charges. Court proceedings will be long and drawn out. Chicago will still try to let everyone forget about this and move on to the next outrage. There will surely be one within a month or so.

“I think the worst part of the video is that he keeps shooting for a significant amount of time after the kid was on the ground.”

A significant amount of time watching and a significant amount of time doing are not the same thing. Einstein had a clever way of demonstrating this when explaining relitivity.

This could be compared to swatting a spider after it is dead and continuing on because its legs were still moving.

Upon consideration, there may be more to this story… such as radio traffic that indicated a very serious and immediate threat… making it reaonable to pull up on the scene, immediately empty your weapon and reload to do it again.

I can think of several scenarios where his action was correct.

In the end, police safety is more important than criminal safety… and courts (and common sense) have constantly affirmed much less due process is necessary for those obviously caught comitting a serious crime or those who present a threat in the thinking of those present.

As the facts are unknown, all of this falls between speculatuon and rationalization… as it is hard to sympathise with the career criminal on dangerous drugs brandishing a weapon in public with a history of causing nothing but trouble in society… meaning it would be trivial to run an ice pick through his eye with no emotion in a consequence-free environment.

The cop could be a violent dirtbag looking for trouble… but in this case, he solved more problems than he created… hence society should move along and investigate some of the premeditated abuse done by cops who jump on the tank, smash down the door, throw flashbangs, shoot the puppy, and tear the house apart looking for insignificant amounts of personal-use drugs… which generally is done against the middle class… as they have more assets to seize than some poor brother in section 8 housing.

That is a much larger injustice that plays out every day.

“RACIST EGGHEAD ANSWER ME THIS, at which point was your Racist Cop Lover “lunged at” or where/when was the “threat” that the cop faced/felt?”

As I explained before, at that distance, someone with a knife poses a threat by their existence. The use of certain drugs amplify this immensely.

Police training includes awareness of this… both past cases where LEOs were injured or killed in situations like this and signs of drug use that make an attacker more unpredictable, less reasonable, and more resistant to the effects of non-fatal bullets.

Your lack of education, Tbone, is no basis for an argument.

The defense will give the jury an education in this. It may or may not overcome the emotional “emptied his gun into the body on the ground” tactic of the prosecution.

“EGGHEAD is condoning the killing of black(not white) teenagers who slash tires.”

Actually, after owning some nice cars, a few of which were messed with, I could condone the killing of anyone who slashes tires. The pride of ownership is severely diluted by the stress caused by those who will never have anything of value but compensate by destroying the hard work of others. These animals should be put down based on actions rather than race.

Having never had much of value, this is all pretty meaningless to you, Tbone. I get that.

“EGGHEAD is a RACIST”

I am a culturist… as I like people who think and act correctly regardless of race and I despise people who act incorrectly regardless of race.

The concept of “correct action” has a wide range… but most reasonable people would agree that breaking into cars, slashing tires, and brandishing a knife in the middle of the street while high on PCP is not “correct action”. Race plays no part of this.

I dislike the Black Grievance Industry because of their opportunistic destructive criminal-promoting racist agenda rather than their skin color. I equally dislike the whiny misguided white people who support this for their attitude rather than like them for their skin color. Attitude, rather than race, is the issue.

Tbone, you must make some better points than screaming RACIST if you wish to hold my interest… or I will stop responding and you will vanish after a week of being ignored.

“I think a sex strike could really work on college campuses where there’s an abundance of sexual harassment or date rapes,” Lee told Stephen Colbert on The Late Show on US television. “Second semester it’s going to happen. Once people coming back from Christmas and some stuff jumps off, there’s going to be sex strikes in universities and college campuses across this country.”

A recent survey of US college campuses found that nearly a quarter of female students had experienced some form of unwanted sexual advance. More than 10% of respondents said they had been physically assaulted or threatened with physical assault by men in pursuit of sex.

The director was discussing his new film Chi-Raq with Colbert. Based on Lysistrata, a satire by Aristophanes, the film follows a group of women on the south side of Chicago who decide to fight gun crime by withholding sex from their men. In real life, the film has reportedly inspired a group of 37 women to follow suit.”

Thanksgiving Obama must’ve gotten to you with his Thanksgiving address…

Before you read, listen, and/or watch your President of the United States of America Barack Obama’s Thanksgiving Address ~ I’d just like to remind all you servicethemselfmembers that after you serve your mouths on Thanksgiving, yourselves on Black Friday and Cyber Monday but to also think of others for once on “Giving Tuesday”. 💡

Listen/Watch the Obama Thanksgiving Address ~ [Administration Says States Can’t Block Them]
Obama compares Syrian refugees to Pilgrims on the Mayflower in Thanksgiving address as he urges America to show generosity to migrants fleeing the war-torn country
http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/president-obama-compares-syrian-refugees-mayflower-pilgrims-states/story?id=35431907
President Barack Obama:
“In 1620, a small band of pilgrims came to this continent, refugees who had fled persecution and violence in their native land,” Obama says. “Nearly 400 years later, we remember their part in the American story – and we honor the men and women who helped them in their time of need.”

The Obama administration said Wednesday that states can’t legally block the resettlement of refugees, according to a letter from the HHS Office of Refugee Resettlement sent to state officials.

In the letter, the agency said states are bound by the Refugee Act of 1980 to provide “assistance and services” to refugees “without regard to race, religion, nationality, sex or political opinion,” and cannot cut off ORR-funded services to Syrian refugees.

Additionally, the letter says refugees are protected by Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which “prohibits discrimination on the bases of race and national origin” in all programs that receive federal financial assistance.

More than 30 state governors have indicated they will attempt to block any future refugees from settling in their states.

Obama said he’s been “touched by the generosity of the Americans” who have written letters and emails in recent weeks offering to open their homes to refugees fleeing the Islamic State, ISIL.

“Nearly four centuries after the Mayflower set sail, the world is still full of pilgrims – men and women who want nothing more than the chance for a safer, better future for themselves and their families,” the president says. “What makes America America is that we offer that chance. We turn Lady Liberty’s light to the world, and widen our circle of concern to say that all God’s children are worthy of our compassion and care. That’s part of what makes this the greatest country on Earth.”

Here is a question…

There is a shooting of an “unarmed black man” by a “racist white cop” which is documented on video and appears to be far less necessary than previous shootings where the suspect was clearly a threat.

There is good cause to believe the police tried to cover this up and the city spent a great deal of taxpayer money to keep this away from public attention.

This is probably the best example the Black Lives Matter industry can come up with to complain about the Man.

Yet there isn’t even a peep out of the usual agitators such as Sharpton and company.

That is very odd…

…until you think about it.

Chickenhead,
Assuming you are talking about the Laquan McDonald video, it couldn’t be because of the political affiliation of the city government in Chicago could it?

ChickenHead

That’s what I was thinking, Johnnyboy.

When you are a credentialed liberal and good buddy with “the first black president”, black lives don’t have to matter so much… as long as you make sure everyone involved gets a hand into the public purse.

Apart from that, it is still disappointing that the national conversation is on everything but the real problem…

…nothing good can (or should) happen when you steal, vandalize, threaten, menace, disrupt, and refuse to cooperate which those empowered to keep order in society for the good of everyone.

There needs to be a true cultural shift in addressing and changing this.

Police shooting active black criminals is a RESULT of a social problem more than a social problem itself.

One could justify the shootings as a crude but effective solution to the social problem… perhaps even a form of society-scale Stand Your Ground.

It is easier to justify the results of poor culture and behavior by blaming others… especially for unrelated factors that nobody can control, such as race… than actually taking responsibilty for oneself.

Politicians encourage this as they like to dumb down issues to easy concepts that may or may not reflect the reality… and frequently would rather present an endless cycle of outrage and fake solutions while skimming the resources… than actually reavealing unpleasant truths and tackling difficult problems with complex solutions that will exchange immediate bruised feelings for long-term gains.

I will start believing that black lives matter when those who tell me black lives matter start acting like black lives matter.

I think people of all colors in certain parts of the south recognize a lot of your points to an extent.

There is definitely racism in many places. For my part, I notice that most (adult) people in my proximity treat all people with respect and courtesy. Most people are too busy trying to pay bills and keep it together to mistreat another race or advocate for anything for their own race.

I gather that was the general attitude in Charleston after the Walter Scott shooting. People in the community were hurt, but mostly responded with prayer and unity. The usual suspects came to town to advocate their agenda, but if I recall they weren’t very successful.

Active White Man Shooter At Planned Parenthood In Colorado Springs
Just another violent white male GOPer stamped off the right-wing paranoid assembly line.
Hey johnnyboy, isn’t Colorado Springs run by GOPers ❓
http://www.denverpost.com/news/ci_29172660/colorado-springs-firefighters-respond-active-shooter-at-planned
“At least three police officers have been injured in an ongoing active shooter situation at or near a Colorado Springs branch of Planned Parenthood on Friday afternoon.

Lt. Catherine Buckley, a Colorado Springs police spokeswoman, said she was still trying to confirm other details in the fluid situation.

“We still have a gunman that is out there,” she said.

A Colorado Springs police commander told The Gazette that at least three officers have been hurt. It is unclear whether there are more injuries or fatalities.

The city’s fire department tweeted about the situation about 11:45 a.m. The branch is located at 3480 Centennial Blvd., just north of West Fillmore Street.

“The area is NOT secure,” police said in a tweet.

“We were looking out the window and we had an officer wave us back inside,” said Brigitte Wolfe, who works Jun Japanese Restaurant next door. “They have everything blocked off.”

Wolfe said there are roughly a dozen police vehicles at the scene. She said officers have guns drawn and are facing the Planned Parenthood branch.

A photo from the scene showed officers in the area hiding behind their vehicles with their weapons drawn. SWAT officers have been called to the scene.

Colorado Springs police have shut down Centennial Boulevard between Garden of the Gods Road and Fillmore Street. Some businesses in the area are being evacuated. Patrons and workers at a nearby shopping center have been told to shelter in place.”

Meanwhile, the WashPo writers displayed their biases nearly as gormlessly as tbone. They admit not knowing anything about the shooter and then conflate his actions with the “light-hearted” videos suggesting PP was selling baby parts which brought on threats and violence, without mentioning who was doing the violence. Or where. Or to whom.

For the record, I don’t think the officer was justified in continuing to fire on McDonald once he was down.

Also, he appeared to be holding a knife as reports have indicated, so he probably isn’t another unarmed black teen killed by police. We likely won’t know more until the FBI releases their investigation.

Agreements can be found between two mature adults, even if they are opposite on many other issues. I find that Chickenhead’s sentiments on responsible behavior ring true with me and probably most reasonable people.

Tbone,

Who is to blame for withholding details of the investigation into Laquan McDonald’s death? Is it all the police’s fault? Did Rahm Emanuel’s administration have anything to do with a slow investigation and slow release of information?

I also wonder why people are in the streets asking for justice when the officer is facing first degree murder charges. Until the trial starts there is no more justice to be had.

“For the record, I don’t think the officer was justified in continuing to fire on McDonald once he was down.”

He should have reloaded and kept shooting until the punk dropped the knife.

With better training and teamwork, they all could have concentrated fire on his wrist until the threat was separated and neutralized.

But seriously..

Who cares.

This really is a case of Stand Your Ground… for civilization.

This little turd has a long record, was actively engaged in a number of violent felonies, and clearly demonstrated to a VERY patient group of police that he would not cooperate with the reasonable requests of a functioning civilization.

Everybody who has ever been a victim of crime should be cheering… especially those who live in high-crime neighborhoods where the majority of unarmed aspiring rap star gentle giants who where just starting to turn their lives around are shot by racist white police.

Instead, they champion the criminal who victimizes them and condemn the cop who protects them… so screw ’em. Chances are that attitude is why they are poor and dependent to begin with.

It is too bad the taxpayers had to pay off the ghetto Frankensteins who created this little monster… but that will all be back in the local economy in a few years… if they don’t OD before they buy a couple of Chrysler 300s with the Ghetto Bently Grill upgrade.

Of course Obama never leads the nation to say things like ghetto behavior is unacceptable or militarized policing should be rethought. Instead it is all about individual racist cops and “guns” which mostly belong to people who are the exact opposite of those who are causing the problems.

If this stupidity keeps up, there are going to be a lot of sad liberals who have to live with this expanding pool of idiocy when they cant afford to live in a gated community with legally armed guards.

Actually Tbone, I wasn’t referring to you and I agreeing on anything. I said mature adults. However, since I don’t toe a party line, you and I probably do agree on a few things here or there. One thing I can think of is criminalization of marijuana. You and I probably aren’t too far apart on that issue. If you and I agree on something, it isn’t a bad thing. Liberals and conservatives intersect on a few more issues I can think of.

I am curious though, if you were a police officer how would you have taken Laquan McDonald into custody? Would you tackle a knife wielding individual? Keep in mind, I am not defending this officer. I just wonder what your approach would be. I am happy to discuss this more with you and offer the approach I would hope to take if you like.

johnnyboy

CH,

I must respectfully disagree with you on something.

While recognizing that the young man would likely continue to be a net drag on society, I still feel the officer went too far. I can agree that the officer was probably justified to initially shoot. I think at this point it is almost universally accepted that the kid had a knife. He also wasn’t complying and was within lethal distance of the officers.

My issue is that the officer continued to fire even after McDonald was down and almost certainly incapacitated. I don’t know what Chicago’s rules of engagement are for use of deadly force, but in some cities I believe they follow a shoot-assess model. An officer is to shoot a set number of times, stop and then re-assess the threat before shooting again if necessary.

In this case, I think the threat was neutralized to a controlled level when McDonald was downed and incapacitated. At that point, I feel the officer should have stopped firing, attempted communication with the suspect again, and cautiously approached.

I realize that it’s easier to say all that than actually do it, and that no one can say for sure how they will perform when the adrenaline is pumping.

CH, I appeal to you. I know you have many reasons to feel the way you do about people who are probably never going to contribute to society being gunned down. I do understand your point of view.

My rebuttal is that this isn’t the way law is supposed to be enforced. Whether for better or for worse, the law isn’t supposed to be able to kill someone once they no longer pose a reasonable threat. In the current state of affairs, the common citizen is rapidly losing their rights. Even if this kid was a dirtbag and probably wouldn’t care about the rights of others, he still had rights. I’d like to think his rights mattered, because if not mine either don’t now, or probably won’t soon.

It should not be standard protocol for police to keep firing on someone who is downed and no longer posing a reasonable threat. I get that he had a knife in close proximity, but looking at the kid, I don’t think he was still capable of using it at the same time the officer was continuing to fire.

I’m no fan of a culture that tolerates or encourages this type of behavior, but I also fear law enforcement being able to kill people in this manner. I know you will have a good response to this, but please try to keep an open mind to my point of view.

I recently watched a new series on Amazon (stream video) entitled “The Man in the High Tower”. I’ve never read the book on which it is based, but the series shows an alternate reality where the Germans and Japanese won the war. America was about three parts dictatorship and one part lawless “neutral” region between the two totalitarian governments. Of course guns were banned under both and difficult to get and so forth, but what struck me most was the idea that the entire thing would be far less believeable in today’s setting of modern technology than the 60s, on which it was based. The “rebels” would have absolutely nowhere to go, in a world of constant monitoring.

I’m glad they caught the Boston bomber, for example, but look how quickly they did it…via all the video monitoring through “private businesses”. There are definite implications to this. I don’t want our officers of the law to be targets, but I see danger, too, with these sorts of LEO rules of engagement.

Johnnyboy, I fear you are right.

In a perfect world, in a situation-by-situation case, actions and reactions would produce the maximum possible justice that represented the greatest possible benefit to all those deserving.

In this case, I propose that happened… even if by chance. In fact, in most of the similar cases that have been pushed into the public spotlight, true large-scale justice seems to have prevailed.

In the real world, there must be clear rules that hopefully average out to the most possible justice and societal benefit… as those directly involved are not always capable of determining the perfect response and its chain of effects.

With that in mind, the cop’s actions were not correct… and the danger lies in these same actions producing a great deal of injustice if used in slightly different circumstances.

That is why there are rule that attempt to balance justice for society and protections against injustice for its members.

On a side note, there is a great deal of injustice being produced my America’s militarized police force which the government and media conspire to deflect attention away from by promoting incidents such as this where blacks show outraged solidarity with a violent career criminal due to shared skin color while non-blacks feel outrage over the promotion and idolization of an individual and culture that should be eliminated from society if judged by any reasonable standard. This manufactured conflict deflects attention away from important issues that affect all Americans and promotes larger-scale injustice.

Focus on true issues with the stucture of government and law enforcement is quickly and intentionally lost.

I propose the current system for upholding justice is so broken there needs to be some major changes.

Clear and just rules need to be formulated which allow animals displaying anti-civilization actions to be easilly culled when caught engaging in those actions… a society-level Stand Your Ground… as society is not currently standing it… and ground is being lost on many different fronts.

In this case, the animal had a long record of clear crime and violence, was in the process of acting out more clear crime and violence, and willingly maintained the potential to commit more clear crime and violence. There needs to be a thoughtful legal structure with a clear progression of determinations which allow this animal to be easily put down… while protecting those who are not clearly so bad.

There needs to be a cultural shift, starting at the top, to demonize rather than promote destructive and self-destructive cultures. Obama has done more to hurt future generations of blacks, and all Americans, by supporting and promoting all this nonsense than if he had come out and said, “If you don’t want to get shot, stop being a career criminal and quit being threatening to everyone around you.”

There also needs to be an honset look at how these animals are created and there needs to be some real solutions generated.

In the end, Johnnyboy, you are right that this cop’s actions did not fit the current framework used for promoting justice… even if justice was seeningly the result of his actions.

We should explore what correct path should be taken to promote justice to be truly served on the animals while quality of life for those without destructive intent is protected… and what should be done with those who fall in the middle.

Some contrarian who could introduce clever and insightful criticism of what ideas we formulate would be very useful… but I fear Tbone is quite incapible… being a distraction rather than an addition… ergo, it is probably time to ignore him… as his involvement dilutes the conversation with idiocy rather than stimulate better thinking with intelligent challenges.

CH,

I agree that there needs to be a shift in attitudes on “thug life” and any culture celebrating lawlessness and violence towards functioning members of society.

I still disagree on methods of justice. People are still people, even if they are behaving as animals. Though it would likely be a quicker way to accomplish real results, culling people from the population to the benefit of the majority is a method of a society I have no desire to live in.

You are right. Political leaders should be clear in their message, that almost all confrontations with police could be avoided if people behave responsibly and in a reasonable manner. Many of the “victims” in the cases portrayed in the media played a large role in what happened to them, if not completely responsible for their own deaths.

Hi Tbone,
I don’t recall supporting a specific party or candidate to run Cook County. Incidentally the candidate you are referring to was running for representative in the U.S. House which doesn’t directly administer or govern individual districts. So even if she had won, she wouldn’t be running Cook County or Chicago.

What I did speak on was Chickenhead’s comments about Rahm Emanuel’s administration seemingly getting a free pass early on in coverage of the events, with the media and community leaders instead focusing on police actions. It appears that the stink is finally catching up with him and the state’s attorney. Many protesters are calling for the mayor and the prosecutor to step down for whatever their roles may have been in any attempts to prevent release of information and video to the public.
I don’t believe the police would have been able to suppress the video and details of the shooting for so long without support of the mayor and other officials. I think Emanuel may have been trying to protect his re-election campaign. Perhaps Chicagoans will prefer another Democrat candidate for mayor in the next race.

Do you think Emanuel has any culpability in the slow release of information on the shooting? Do you think he tried to delay release of information until after the mayoral election was over earlier this year? Do you have any position you would like to share on this aspect?

Tbone,

I find it’s better not to align with either of the two majority parties in American politics for reasons I highlighted earlier. Reasons that you and I could probably agree on.

My suspicions of wrongdoing in Chicago aren’t based on the fact that the incident happened in a Democrat run town. Violence happens everywhere. Corrupt or underhanded politicians are on both sides of the aisle. It just so happens that Rahm Emanuel is a Democrat and Chicago just so happens to be one of the worst cities in America and is also run by Democrats.

That wasn’t the point I was making though. I was simply saying that Rahm could have been trying to keep the whole thing quiet right before his election and that early on people who are aligned with him politically seemed to be focusing only on the police. Would you agree that is a fair assessment?

You imply that I am silent on the Planned Parenthood shooting because Colorado Springs is supposedly Republican run. I don’t have much of an idea what the politics are in Colorado Springs.

I am not comparing the two situations because with the McDonald shooting I was inferring wrongdoing in the attempted suppression of the details. I don’t see any evidence of a cover up in the Planned Parenthood shooting. It neither confirmed or disproved the point I was making.

Laquan McDonald Shooting Leads To Chicago Top Cop Firing
Mayor Rahm Emanuel has fired Chicago’s chief of police.
http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2015/12/01/reports-garry-mccarthy-out-as-chicago-police-superintendent/

“Saying public confidence in the Police Department “has been shaken and eroded” in the wake of the Laquan McDonald controversy, Mayor Rahm Emanuel announced Tuesday that Police Supt. Garry McCarthy is out as the city’s top cop.

The mayor said he and McCarthy began discussing the future of the department on Sunday, and on Tuesday morning, he asked for the superintendent’s resignation. First Deputy Supt. John Escalante will serve as acting superintendent while the Chicago Police Board conducts a national search for a permanent replacement for McCarthy.

McCarthy’s ouster comes a week after Police Officer Jason Van Dyke was charged with first-degree murder in the October 2014 shooting death of 17-year-old Laquan McDonald. Hours after Van Dyke was charged, Emanuel and McCarthy released police dashboard camera video of Van Dyke shooting McDonald 16 times.”
