So, any bets the Federal Government ends up burning the place to the ground, like Waco?
Time is on the side of the Government Negotiators. Cut power, cut access in and out, and this will be over peacefully during the next cold snap. But were’s the fun in that?

Peaceably standing up to the Man for moral rather than material gain is a very American thing with a history of positive results…
…and a very big difference from looting and burning the private businesses of fellow citizens and destroying useful public property.
Without further study, it is hard to know if their cause is correct and just… but, the federal government has been hassling a lot of established hard-working people lately while supporting illegal immigrants, the professionally dependent, and the perpetually crimimal.
When Gentle Giants and Clock Boys are promoted as heroes for obvious and pointless criminal activity while ranchers are persecuted for activities that may not really be criminal in spirit, it gets harder to support the Man.
A lot of average Americans are rightfully pissed off right now. It might not be in the best interests of the Man to pull a Waco at this time… especially when the victims may be peacefully supporting a better society than the recent batch of thugs who were openly given “space to destroy”.
I have not read up on this Oregon thing to really have an opinion on who is right, but I think the CNN analyst is correct that the authorities will handle this differently than looting protesters because they are not destroying anything. They are basically occupying a building in the middle of no where. Cut the power and water and I think they will eventually give themselves up after they feel their point has been made. I don’t see any reason to send the MRAPs in yet.

Just watched a documentary on Waco from 1999 the other day after I heard about the Oregon incident in the news.
Pretty sickening the things the government just passed off as facts when experts contradicted the official story.
Bet you anything some Delta guys were pulling triggers on day 51. Seemed like they gassed the place and then posted gunmen at the exits to shoot anyone who came out.
Pity what they did to the women and children holed up in the concrete “vault building” as well by directly pumping in the CS for a couple hours. Then there’s the matter of all appearances pointing to a bomb blast on top of the same structure which then probably ignited the propane tank causing the larger explosion. I’m not sure how far bomb residue disperses and how long it remains on concrete, but apparently the piece of concrete with the hole in it was missing a few years later when someone finally got around to an attempt at testing it.
I’m no expert, and the documentary could have been biased, but the video evidence appears damning doesn’t it?
Does anyone think they would pull another Waco? At this point, I don’t believe so. I think Waco went the way it did because the agents on the ground had lost friends in the first assault and wanted some payback and possibly because the Clinton administration was embarrassed and was putting the heat on the DOJ to get it over with. You guys probably have studied it a lot more than I have.
As of yet, no gunfights have erupted in Oregon and no federal agents have been killed. I guess the real question is: what will Bundy and his guys do if the feds come knocking forcibly. Maybe the question should be will the feds take it to that point. If something like that happens and the feds don’t resolve it immediately, then I could definitely envision something like Waco taking place.
The propaganda is already trying to paint these guys as nutjobs. News reports talk about how the other militias who participated in a march and protest had no knowledge of Bundy’s intent and how they disavow them for it. They might be a$$holes, possibly grandstanding, or they may have a good point. It looks like the feds in Oregon were vindictively going after this family. For what, who knows? But the patriarch and his son were sentenced to 12 months and 3 months respectively, which they served, and then the prosecutor appealed the judge’s ruling to get them back in prison. All for backburning to prevent a wildfire from spreading, and maybe or maybe not to cover up poaching some deer. Heavy-handed, no?
What’s really sweet for the government is that they got these guys to agree to give them first dibs if they ever decide to sell their land, and then on top of that levied a $400,000 fine on them, which if they can’t pay they will have to sell their land……………..to the government……………..for a drastically reduced price because the value has dropped dramatically since their public land access for grazing was terminated…………….by the government…………
See the common thread here?

Former Marine Montel Williams: Shoot and kill Oregon militia
I saw today Obama is talking about taking executive action on gun control because Congress isn’t playing ball for him. It has been pretty much standing room only at the gunstores for the last couple of months and this should about sell them out of ammo. I wonder if Obama could do this for some other industry.
Wish there were more options to buy stock in the firearms, but the companies don’t seem to be public.
Per the Oregon militia, after reading this, I can understand why the militia is acting as it is. And I think Montel is a bleeping moron.
Hey maybe Montel can do a Geraldo (Ruby Ridge) and fly a helicopter over the Wildlife Refuge and claim they were shooting at him. He’ll have to pay off the pilot to back his story though. Geraldo didn’t tie up that loose end.
@13- I agree. The comments section has improved since Tbone’s departure. I am beginning to wonder if he is holed with so called militia sit in guys in Oregon. 😉

Five years in prison seems like overkill for starting a grass fire. A child molestor got 60 days in jail in comparison.
Here is a pretty good balanced read about the legal situation with the Hammond family:
http://www.oregonlive.com/pacific-northwest-news/index.ssf/2015/12/ranchers_fight_with_feds_spark.html#incart_story_package
The article says the Obama administration has no plans to pardon these ranchers, but if there is a case that warrants a pardon this is it.

Things might not be as interesting around here as they were a few weeks ago, but it isn’t normal to live in a near constant state of conflict.
The quantity has dropped, but the quality has improved.

If those GOPer Evangelist groups were Muslim and/or black they’d have been taken care of(ousted) by now 🙁
For some reason, I am thinking about Voldemort, Beetlejuice, and Bloody Mary. Specifically how if you mention their names they pay you a visit.
I blame GI for reinvoking the spirit of clowncars past…
