@MTB Rider, thanks for the link. It is pretty strange that the ROK is blocking that webpage because in my opinion is not promoting North Korea.
As far as the rokdrop.com site going down that all had to do with a shady web hosting company. When Rokdrop was originally built on WordPress I read the book “WordPress for Dummies“. The book’s author promoted Blogs-about.com as a preferred web hosting company. I would later find out the owner of Blogs-about.com was her husband. So I ordered my webspace from them, built the site and things were fine for a few years. Then in 2014, rokdrop.com crashed. No one from Blogs-about would respond to any of my phone calls or emails. Even tried contacting the WordPress for Dummies author Lisa Sabin Wilson via email, Twitter and Facebook to find out what is going on with her husband. She did not respond to any of my enquiries.
I bought webspace from Bluehost who is the largest web hosting company for WordPress sites; so hopefully I won’t have any future problems with them. Working with their tech support people they tried to get the rokdrop.com site moved over to their servers but they had they same problems of not being able to contact anyone from Blogs-about. I cannot even use my rokdrop.com web address because it has to be released by Blogs-About to Bluehost. The tech folks at Bluehost were telling me to take legal action against them in order to get them to respond.
Looking at the cost of a lawyer and the time already wasted dealing with the issue I decided it was easier to just make the new web address rokdrop.net and just move on.
Wow, what a pain in the butt! I was thinking about setting up a BlogSpot of my own, to post short stories and novels in progress, to see if my writing has any sort of market appeal. I’ll keep your problems with blogs-about in mind…
1. Rattle the Sabre
2. Commit some small scale attack
3. Seize something owned by the South
4. Threats and bluster, kill many fishes in the East and West Seas
5. Hint about peace.
6. Offer to return something stolen
7. South sends the North food
8. Summit
9. North drums up some excuse to throw away everything from Steps 5-8
10. North pops a Nuke
11. Back to Step 1.
Since the DPRK had so much practice making U.S. $100 bills, it looks like they have branched out into another currency! I wonder if the Chinese will have anything to say about this: http://www.upi.com/Top_News/World-News/2016/04/06/Report-North-Korea-circulating-counterfeit-Chinese-bills/2891459966113/?spt=slh&or=1
Talk about biting the hand that feeds you! I wonder if this was a Fatty Kim idea. Uncle Jang was all about copying U.S. C-Notes, but seemed to prefer avoiding antagonizing China. Fatty seems to have Poor Impulse Control Issues…
@setnaffa, when the whole thing happened I sent her Facebook and Twitter messages as well as emails asking for assistance with no response. It was the same thing for her husband. I have since moved on from that mess but it does make me wonder how many other website owners lost their data besides me from Blogs-About going under like that? If they were having trouble keeping the business going they should have at least warned their customers to move their websites to anther server.
So now North Korea goes into China, and arrests and extradites two (or more) assassins, just in time for the 7th Congress or People’s Meeting or whatever they want to call it? Totally sounds legit, and not like some Action-Adventure movie.

I received a ROKDrop email………
Is new ROKDrop member Tina Abuzer spamming, errr, I mean, looking for love?
I know North Korea has beefed up security along the Tumen River, but they still send people to work at their money laundering operations restaurants in other countries. Looks like they will have to update their vetting procedures.
North Korea is known to be strict about vetting and selecting people to work in its overseas restaurants, knowing they will inevitably be exposed to information about the outside world that they are mostly protected from in the North.
“From what we know, there is some competition for being deployed to overseas restaurants. We believe that in order to win the competition, they must be from relatively good families,” Jeong said.
The article mentions that the restaurant folks haven’t been getting paid, but have been asked to increase their remittances back home. Hmm…
I’m thinking when the North finally falls, people will be surprised how hollowed out the country really is.
I am tracking the spammer now and have deleted her profile. Thanks for the heads up. Dealing with spammers is one of the most frustrating problems of running a site like this.

@12, these days one has to assume overly friendly folks met on the interwebs are either sick or predatory…
A newly arrived NCO to Korea was responsible for inspecting common areas. In formation, after the inspection, he proceeded to chew out the soldiers responsible for cleaning the latrine, stating that there was water all over the f’n place, all over the counter , the floor, and even all over the god damn mirror. He says April fools day was last week, and if they think they are going to make a fool out of him, that he will have them cleaning the barracks this weekend.
Finally, a fellow soldier speaks up and says thats what the Korean civilians do- they do bird baths. The NCO goes off, Oh you got fkn jokes, now we are just blaming the Koreans for everything! LOL
@JoeC, that is a huge accomplishment that many people probably won’t even take notice of. The potential for reusable launch vehicles could really drive space travel costs down to make it affordable for more industries to pursue space ventures.
Just like doing the Ronald Reagan years, Reagan mind was the same or worst but the cabinet with the help of his wife, Nancy covered it up. This is a very dangerous diversion the administration is playing, this type of maneuvering leaves the office of the POTUS open for the following; exploitation, mess around with, toy, horse around, by those around him.
Believe me, you do not want any of those Synonyms in the white house. If the Vice President and a majority of congress and senate members agree that the President is incapacitated, then the President can be relieved of all power. So what gets me, Is why is the government waiting for crunch time.
No disrespect, but this POTUS is not dealing with a full deck. The vice president has his suspicions about the POTUS, so do the speaker of the House, everybody’s knowes. i’LL knew from the get-go that his son-in-law and daughter would be the President. He really did not want to be president, his campaign just caught fire and he just went with it.
Probably got browbeat with someone says “you don’t have to do it we’ve do it for you, you just sat in the chair” And guess who has already sized Trump mental-state up, are the Russians Chinese and the North Koreans. This is a surrender in the making before the war even get started. This is a clear and present danger to the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. write you congressman write your senators: Now we’ve got a dragon with many heads, and it’s not a French fairy tales.
This site often has articles from Andrei Lankov, but what about this guy:
http://www.stltoday.com/business/technology/uk-journalist-to-appeal-as-seoul-blocks-his-site-on/article_2ac76db2-468a-597d-a792-6ce98e1d499d.html
North Korea Tech is being blocked by the ROK for “reasons.” The article doesn’t give the South Korean reasons, just that it’s blocked. GI Korea has North Korea Tech as a Must Read site in the sidebar.
I’ve always been curious as to what happened to rokdrop dot com? Was the original site hacked and forced offline, or something else?
What’s up with the pic in this article? Strange Photoshop job. Looks like Fatty Kim is one with his car:
https://www.yahoo.com/news/china-announces-restrictions-trade-north-korea-091310046–business.html
I mean they included the reflection of both Fatty and his aide on the roof, but did they custom fit the hole? And where is his lower body? 😛

On a RON/DPRK note, I wonder if the North is running low on food again:
http://www.upi.com/Top_News/World-News/2016/04/06/North-Korea-says-it-seeks-improved-relations-with-South/4751459949049/
No, I don’t wonder. I’ve read in several places that they are indeed running low again, so now comes the Charm Offensive to get more food. Let’s do it by the numbers:
1. Rattle the Sabre
2. Commit some small scale attack
3. Seize something owned by the South
4. Threats and bluster, kill many fishes in the East and West Seas
5. Hint about peace.
6. Offer to return something stolen
7. South sends the North food
8. Summit
9. North drums up some excuse to throw away everything from Steps 5-8
10. North pops a Nuke
11. Back to Step 1.
Same as it ever was.

@Andy, what email address was used for the spam email?
It’s Tinaabuz at Yahoo dot com. I saw her profile pic go up yesterday, and knew she would be a scammer.
Cute pic though. Too bad there is no such thing as a cute girl who just wants to be friends and then bang your brains out…
