Korean Cafe Owner Beaten By Mob In Turkey

A mob of about 20 Turkish nationals attacked a Korean-operated cafe in Istanbul because alcohol was being consumed at fan meeting there.
The store owner was taken to hospital with minor injuries after being beaten at the meeting, which was held to mark the release of rock band Radiohead’s new album.
The fans were drinking beer while enjoying music.
“You should be ashamed for drinking during Ramadan,” said one attacker.
During Ramadan, Muslims worldwide fast for a month during daylight hours to commemorate the first revelation of the Koran to Mohammed.

I guess this is when someone would try to defend by saying “Only a small percentage of Muslims are extremist.” at which I would reply “Yes but an extreme percentage of extremists are Muslim”. 😆

Why was this mob of 20 out on the street at the night during Ramadan? Aren’t they supposed to be home praying and being spiritually connected to their families after the dawn to dusk fasting?

It would seem Donald Trump and maybe Jeff Sessions are trying to keep out undesirables, but most Republicans will fall in line with whatever the Chamber of Commerce wants. That’s usually not the same as what Donald Trump proposes.
I believe there is a group of Republicans still trying to push an overthrow at the convention. They are just waiting on a misstep or miscue from Trump that pushes enough people away from him for them to swoop in and replace him with a “hero” of the party. Paul Ryan is most likely a key player in this plan.
I also believe you may have missed CH’s sarcasm or his extensive posts on the disadvantages of admitting low skilled immigrants in to the country when there are already a shortage of lower-middle class jobs for U.S. citizens.
JB – I am well aware that CH uses sarcasm as a tool in his arsenal and also his crusade to help the disadvantaged masses. I do get your point about an undercurrent of dissatisfaction in the Republican mainstream for Trump but I think personally that it’s time for a little unconventional thinking on the part of the good ole’ US of A so as to keep our enemies on their toes and our allies guessing what we will do next. 😆

Trump is speaking out against these unnecessary “refugees”, illegals, and “skilled worker”/cheap labor visas… while Ryan openly condemned his truthful (and nationalist) speaking as “racist” and refuses to support him.
Keep in mind, the Republican party I loathe is not the Republican party of a generation ago… and no amount of nostalgic voting or hopeful vocal support will make them suddenly return to being the party representing and protecting self-sufficient Americans while supporting infrastructure and social order necessary to create independence rather than chronic dependence.
While the current Republican party waves the threat of gay marriage and other meaningless nonsense to prove their conservative credentials, they are really alligned with the Democrats and their shared corporate/Wall Street paymasters to do the bidding of the multinationals… (intentionally) poorly negotiated trade agreements designed for maximum wealth transfer, no action on open borders for cheap labor, privatization of profit/socialization of risk, corporate welfare, etc.
While it must be hard to throw away decades of Republican support, you must understand the Republican party has gone bad and needs to go away to be replaced with something which looks out for long-term American interests rather than (frequently short-term) corporate interests. Republicans are no longer Republicans. No amount of wishful thinking will make them so.
