Six Armed North Korean Soldiers On the Run in China
Here we go again with rogue North Korean soldiers on the run in China. Hopefully they don’t kill anyone this time:
A total of six North Korean soldiers armed with weapons crossed into China, prompting Chinese authorities to track their whereabouts, a source said Thursday.
The North Korean soldiers deserted their posts along the border area with China and illegally entered Changbai County in the country’s northeastern province of Jilin on Tuesday, according to the source.
“Chinese authorities notified residents to be on alert and immediately report their location if they are observed,” the source added. [Joong Ang Ilbo]

So how come China isn’t boycotting North Korea, like they are doing with South Korea? China just banned all Chinese tours to South Korea, and making life miserable for Lotte group doing business in China. China is also threatening economic trade war on South Korea to teach South Koreans a lesson for putting THAAD in, according to China’s People’s Daily.
Basically, China has portrayed THAAD as being a threat to China and something for which it must retaliate. If they were to back down and not follow through with their retaliation – they would look weak and lose face. So they have to follow through with all these BS retaliatory measures.
I suspect that once THAAD is deployed to Korea, China will (quietly) give up and stop making an issue of it. In the meantime, however, China will continue to act like a complete idiot about it.
