Escaping from Prison
Yes! Under Brazilian Law, escaping from prison is perfectly legal.
The rationale for that, is that the individual has the right to escape his captors, since he is presumed innocent until proven guilty. So, the person has the right to fight against the supposed humiliation of a wrongful detention.
So, until you are definitely convicted, you have all the right to escape prison. No joke!
Absolutely nothing will happen with that person when he or she is recaptured. Not a single day will be added to his or her sentence. Since, āEscapeā is not even contemplated in our Penal Code. But, āAssistance to Escapeā is!
Escaping is not a crime!!! But, aiding someoneās escape is!
