Cho Joong-pil, the mother of a college student who was stabbed to death at a Burger King in the popular international district of Itaewon in 1997, leaves the Seoul Central District Court in Seoul on July 26, 2018. The court ordered the state to pay 360 million won (US$321,113) in compensation to the family of the student who was killed by two Americans. (Yonhap)

Well, she buried a son and now after 21 years she will finally have enough to bury herself when it comes time. (For all of you who are satirically or ironically-challenged, this is a comment on how long it took to finally get some money for this woman for the loss of her son and the age she was then versus the age she is now). I am no good with Korean ages but she looks to be in her late 60s at least which means her time is closing in fast.

wonder if south korea will now compensate the family of the doctor killed in itaewon, or the female officer who was raped but the judge let her rapist taxi driver go since she “didn’t fight back enough” or the Soldier who killed by the taxi running the red light in front of CP Casey….the list goes on and on…

Flyingsword it won’t happen. Americans are allowed to be raped and killed by Koreans, but Koreans can’t be hurt by Americans (see this and the whipping up of anti-American sentiment over the two girls who were killed by the track in Area-I)
