Anyone know how to communicate with retired Navy officers? I have a friend from my high school who went to Annapolis and then into history… I’m pretty certain he’s still alive; but some people just aren’t easy to trace…

If you know how, ask GI for my email, send me a note, and I’ll send you the name.

And all I’m asking is that you send them the name and email address I give you, not give me their contact info. If they want, they’ll contact me.

If you haven’t done it yet, contact your old high school. Mine has a pretty robust alumni association that does a fairly good job of keeping up with graduates To be fair it’s a private school and they want money…

That’s one good thing about Facebook. Since being strong-armed into joining, I’ve been able to catch up with a lot of people I haven’t seen in years. If the other options don’t work, setnaffa, you might want to give it a try? You might even have luck with a relative of his (maybe a daughter or something) if you reach out to them, they could put you in touch with him. Good luck! 🙂

As a side note (on old friends) looks like Shags (O’shaughnessy, he’s been mentioned here at ROKdrop before) will be the next chief of staff. My husband once humped his leg at a bar in Zaragoza, Spain, at 3 am. 😆

Thanks Doc, JoeC, and Liz! As he graduated HS in ’75, I’m not certain they have much in the way of records. I’ll call the Navy Worldwide Locator Bureau of Naval Personnel, and I’ve already searched through various social media sites.

Liz, you mean Terry the Fighter Pilot?

I like what O’shaugnessy did as 7AF/CC and would be my first pick for CSAF. Don’t know if anyone else followed the 7AF > COCOM > CSAF path since Folgleman. Mr Liz’s leg humping only reinforces why no pictures are allowed after 7:00 PM among my small posse.

Same as it ever was:
http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/us-spy-agencies-north-korea-is-working-on-new-missiles/ar-BBLhxFf?ocid=ientp

U.S. spy agencies are seeing signs that North Korea is constructing new missiles at a factory that produced the country’s first intercontinental ballistic missiles capable of reaching the United States, according to officials familiar with the intelligence.
Newly obtained evidence, including satellite photos taken in recent weeks, indicates that work is underway on at least one and possibly two liquid-fueled ICBMs at a large research facility in Sanumdong, on the outskirts of Pyongyang, according to the officials, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe classified intelligence.

The findings are the latest to show ongoing activity inside North Korea’s nuclear and missile facilities at a time when the country’s leaders are engaged in arms talks with the United States. The new intelligence does not suggest an expansion of North Korea’s capabilities but shows that work on advanced weapons is continuing weeks after President Trump declared in a Twitter posting that Pyongyang was “no longer a Nuclear Threat.”

More at the link of course. But I do like this line, as it seems to be more of less agreed upon by most ROK Heads:

“We have this backward. North Korea is not negotiating to give up their nuclear weapons,” Lewis said. “They are negotiating for recognition of their nuclear weapons. They’re willing to put up with certain limits, like no nuclear testing and no ICBM testing. What they’re offering is: They keep the bomb, but they stop talking about it.”

I guess Fatty isn’t going to let his WMDs be loaded onto a barge to be shipped to Oak Ridge National Laboratory. I suppose watching Gaddafi get butt slammed with a dagger left an impression.
