The 2nd Infantry Division dedicated its new headquarters building on Camp Humphreys Tuesday, officially opening a new chapter after moving from its decades-old home north of Seoul.

It’s really weird to think of 2ID being anywhere except in the heart of “Warrior Country” up north of Uijongbu. Up until fairly recently, an assignment in 2ID really was a remote / hardship assignment. It’s truly the end of an era.

When are they going to change the division song? No longer “today along the DMZ…”. Now will have to be, ‘today hanging at cp hump with no mission…..’

With the exception of John Lennon anyone I saw with a 2ID patch I know had served along “Freedoms Frontier”. End of an era, and as Flyingsword said they no longer have a mission, they are in the rear with the gear…
