If you’re using MongoDB, I am tempted to start shorting your company’s stock (except I don’t have any money for stock speculation)… This is an ongoing trainwreck–I even had this conversation with a recruiter two months ago… 🙄 🙄 🙄
As I look through the virtue-signalling comments put out by the vast majority of companies on LinkedIn, I begin to despair… I am male, not female, straight, not LGBTUVWXYZ, over 60, not straight out of college, nominally Caucasian, not Black or Hispanic…
I’ve been a tax-payer since my first paper-route in 1974. I was in the Boy Scouts. I have an honorable discharge (but served in a time where neither the American Legion nor the Post Office recognize me service). I have excellent credit. I survived in-patient chemo, 10 weeks of radiation, and four painful surgeries to remove a high-grade stage 3 soft-tissue sarcoma (cancer) in my head. I have over 20 years of excellent work in Fortune 500 IT, most in customer-facing roles where many of my customers, leaders, and peers actually wrote recommendations for me on LinkedIn.
Makes me think I should start “self-identifying” or something…
Nah. God wanted to give me time to learn patience. When I’m ready, He’ll open a door.

And then, as I wandered back to my email and studying for another certification, I got an offer letter from a place I had applied to back in December and January…
Wow… All I can say is God is being merciful to me…
