Boycotting Japanese productsA retail outlet in Seoul posts a notice stating that is neither selling nor buying Japanese products amid signs of the spreading of a boycott campaign in the country on July 5, 2019. Such moves followed the Japanese government’s recent steps to restrict the export of key chemicals to South Korean semiconductor and display manufacturers. (Yonhap)
Idiots, issue was settled in the 60’s ; now commie moo just dredging up the anti japanese thing to distract from his failing economy

Anyway, Japanese occupation was in reality due to bad decisions made by Korea. Korea refused to modernize, refused to move forward, looked backward insread of forward and clung to old fashion ways.

Japan probably deserves all the flack they get for their atrocities; but none of the leaders in East Asia is behaving like adults… And none of the nations are innocent bystanders…
In the 1940s, Japan committed terrible war crimes (often using Korean troops), Stalin was still purging kulaks, and Mao was making his great leap forward.
In the 1950s, Kim Fatty I killed South Korean civilians who resisted Communism, Rhee killed civilians who didn’t resist, Mao killed civilians who might have been friendly to UN forces, and Stalin directed all the commies as they killed civilians…
Before and after the official wars, the “intramural” Asian animosity can best be described by pointing out Japan still has that “nose/ear tomb” shrine in Kyoto. They’re all guilty of hatred and a lack of forgiveness. Something we of a Western, “Judeo-Christian” culture should try to include in our calculations to avoid disappointments…
“Such moves followed the Japanese government’s recent steps to restrict the export of key chemicals to South Korean semiconductor and display manufacturers. ”
And now, boys and girls, we see why paying higher prices to maintain domestic production in strategic industries is clever long-term plan.
Being at the economic and technological mercy of another nation’s political whims is a poor position to be in… and the loss of institutional knowledge and leading technical ability requires a generational commitment to overcome.
Keep this in mind when you hear complaints about Trump causing higher prices for the consumer with his trade war and consider part of the plan is to permanently move key industries back to America.
Of course much of the work will be done by robots instead of middle class workers… but that is another story.

Isn’t it funny that the media and analysts all squeeled when Trump raised national security concerns when placing tariffs on “Canadian” steel. No one seemed to want to provide any information on how much of that steel is actually produced in Canada.
What happens if you end up in a shooting war with a country that provides a large portion of your steel and your domestic production capacity has been decimated over the past 20 years?
It would seem that the tariffs were a strategy to lean on Mexico and Canada to adopt the USMCA as the tariffs have been dropped, but the concern is still valid.

My oh my!
Japan’s attrocities to whales. As opposed to other nations’ attrocities to puppies, I suppose.
I am not a fan of Japan; but ineloquent trolls of Chinese and North Korean extraction are less-favored in my estimation.
Besides, the Japanese are polite, publicly, when they hate you. This current tantrum is ill-timed, ill-conceived, and will hurt only South Korea.
