It was great! Got to work on time, worked hard and fought traffic jams from rain induced accidents. Oh yeah forgot to mention the Netherlands doesn’t observe Thanksgiving… it wa a good Thursday though!
My wife made chopchai (sp?), I made green bean casserole, the neighbors provided the turkey, mashed potatoes, yams, and a Portuguese variation on stuffing. We had chocolate cake for Paul, homemade apple pie, and rocky road icecream.
Somehow, we all managed to stop before hurting ourselves; but we shared stories about our families and the things we had to be thankful about for several hours.
It was almost like when I was growing up, except the green veggies weren’t bitter. The pie sure was good tho’…
I think we should all try to do stuff like that, to celebrate the good and encourage each other to be better.
It’s not about the food but the fellowship. It not about what we have but what we do with it. And whatever we have, we should thank the One who made it–and us…
One day, maybe, we’ll meet and have such a party for those associated with the RoKDrop. Even the trolls will be welcomed, as long as they bring a seasonally-appropriate side dish or dessert, a thankful heart, and a polite appetite.
@ Set you know the trolls won’t show, they have bridges to hide in, or mothers basements to demand toll…I always get those confused…but with enough notice I might see what Dutch treats I could make/bring. It will all be legal, including my Beautiful Wife…her ESTA was renewed this morning.
