Ambassador Harris Urges Seoul to Join Security Alliance with Japan, India, and Australia

Good luck trying to get President Moon to ever agree to this even though it makes sense from a national security perspective. The fact that Japan is part of it is just one reason why the Korean left can never agree to do this:

Ambassador Harry Harris speaks with The Korea Times at Habib House in central Seoul, Jan. 20, his last day as the top U.S. diplomat in South Korea.

Harry Harris, in his farewell to South Korea as the U.S. ambassador, expressed the hope that the Asian country will join the U.S. and its other allies to stop China’s “malign influence” although not necessarily in the form of an expanded Quad.

Harris hinted that the door still remains open for the South to join the Quad, a security coalition of the U.S., Japan, Australia and India, which he described as a “natural grouping” based on shared views and therefore can be expanded.

“I believe the People’s Republic of China (PRC) is a malign influence in the region and the world,” he told The Korea Times in an exclusive interview, Jan. 20, at Habib House, the official residence of the U.S. ambassador. “And I believe that it’s important for democratic countries to call out China when China does things that are contrary to democratic, accepted rules to the world.”

They’re moving along inexorably toward a terrible disaster… It’s like watching a trainwreck in slow motion, unable to do or say anything to change it…

Of course, I see the same thing here; but probably a few years more slowly… I mean, for example, Canada doesn’t want to invade and steal our snack cake factories…

Don’t mind me asking. What does this quad group really do, other than romping around the Pacific with naval ships? All four of this quad group, depend heavily on trade with China. Are any of them willing to put their mouth where their money is and stop trading with China and cut off China? Nope. Useless group.

Well then. That certainly justifies a South Korean aircraft carrier that won’t ever actually be used outside of kpop videoes.

You haven’t answered my question setnaffa. What does this quad group do other than meet once a month and slap each other on their backs? The only country out of those four which has the least amount of dependence on China economically is India. But the other three, US, Japan, Australia have a lot more to lose. Just face it, you depend on China for everything, whether you like it or not.

Why should I care, if South Korea doesn’t? I mean, South Koreans don’t even care much about other South Koreans, based on who they keep electing.

And why, if you really want to know, my repugnant bridge-dweller, don’t you ask them? I have no influence or insight into the Harris/Bidet regime–nor did I with that of #OrangeManBad or those of the SCOAMF, the Shrub, Slick Willie, Bushdaddy, or Raygun…

And the other “quad” members are merely countries willing to spend the time and treasure needed to keep themselves free in the event Winnie gets a lower digestive tract itch. And try to give him a reason to use his own meds, not raid a neighbor’s medicine cabinet.

So go project your pusillanimity to the reflection in the mirror, not men and women willing to stand up against genocidal evil. Don’t you have some Uighur children to kill? Or 12yo girls in Hong Kong malls to beat up?

Now run along before a goat catches you up on the road.
