Let’s see…. what kind of storm can I stir up this week??? Question: How many of you will be getting the Wuhan Virus “vaccination?” I intend to treat it like the seasonal flu shot and avoid it if possible. However, if the Philippines mandates it in order to go back to normal, I’ll put my affairs in order, take the shot, and hope for the best. I’m 59, I’m overweight, I have medically-controlled high blood pressure, cholesterol, and a hiatal hernia, along with chronic sleep apnea. So… getting this shot is not high on my list of priorities.

I’m undecided about the vaccine. Typically, I only get those my oncologists provide, though I did get the pneumonia vaccine last March (in the hospital for a procedure and needed to be on my back for about a week).
My best guess is that those who took the early vaccines are guinea pigs; but we’ll see how many get infected. It’s interesting that India has a steadily-decreasing COVID-19 problem. Could it be related to HCQ being widely used for malaria in that country?

I tend to agree with Setnaffa. Before Desert Shield in 1990 I gave shots to the 1st Cavalry Division, bottles with nothing more than a code number. “Doc, give yourself the other medic a shot of this, then everyone we send to you.” No idea what I was given and never entered into my shot record. Being a bit younger (50s) and in good health I suspect I’ll have the choice of 4 vaccines to choose from in 2022, if I choose to get the vaccine. I have to lean toward getting something as my wife is borderline diabetic & carries an epi-pen which right now is a contraindication to get the shot(s).
Who lets themselves get injected with a strange substance made in record time with experimental technology by the lowest bidder immune from liability for the purpose of solving a problem that doesn’t exist?
At least wait a decade while it is tested on soldiers and Sub-Saharan Africans to make sure nobody comes out looking like a thalidomide kid.
…though it seems soldiers are out this time… as the vaccine is voluntary rather than mandatory for the military.
That says about all I need to know. The military never found a mandatory vaccine they didn’t like to include in their unlabeled Gulf War Syndrome Starter Kits.
Also, notice there is no outrage and shaming that rich white people are getting it first. That’s… unexpected.
…though the rich white people that are in power seem to be getting a high percentage of photo op injections with empty syringes, syringes with no needles, caps still on, etc… seemingly unaware of the digital zooming abilities of modern TV resolutions.
And, of course, anybody with horrendous health problems who tests positive for covid died of covid… while anybody who has a reaction to the vaccine had it because of their minor health problems.
No. I think I will be holding off taking candy from strangers.
I think I will just take my chances with death… as more Koreans were killed in 2020 being hit by a car than died of covid… my chances are pretty good.
If you are under 65 and healthy, fear of covid is a mental illness.

I think it’s a matter of balancing risks. My age and medical conditions suggest I will probably have more risk from the disease than the vaccine, so I’m taking the vaccine route. If I turn into a lizard, so be it.

Hey Charliem! If you turn into a lizard, can I have your stereo?
