South Korea Suspends AstraZeneca Vaccine Due to Blood Clot Cases
|Here is the latest on the vaccine efforts in South Korea:
The government is temporarily suspending AstraZeneca vaccines for people under 60 after a third blood clot developed in a patient after an AstraZeneca shot.
Joong Ang Ilbo
Korea’s Covid-19 vaccination Task Force team said Wednesday that a medical worker in her 20s was diagnosed with blood clots in her legs and lungs twelve days after she got her first AstraZeneca jab on March 17.
She developed shortness of breath on March 29.
This was the third case of blood clot problems following AstraZeneca inoculations.

Commie moon fails….again
“Lemme know when the kinks are worked out…” is how I’m approaching the whole thing…
“Infectious disease professor Dr. Kim Woo-joo of Korea University agreed weighing the benefits against the risks appeared to be more complicated for younger people who aren’t at great risk of severe complications from COVID-19 themselves.
“For people under 60 the fatality rate from COVID-19 is less than 0.1 percent. ,” he said.”
So the chance of (known so far) side effects is higher than the death rate.
OK, which one of you let a Korean scientist tell the truth about all this vaccine nonsense?
At least the UK has “suspended AstraZeneca vaccine trials on children” over this revelation.
What? They are testing unnecessary vaccines on children?
Is it possible that so many doctors, scientists, reporters, and politicians are this fùcking evil? Or are they simply caught up in the same mass psychosis that allowed average Germans to be Nazis?
WTF is going on in the world?
On the flip side, anybody who allows their kids to be experimented on doesn’t need to reproduce… so, I fully support unnecessary testing on children.
Keep up the good parenting, scolds and liberals.

Awwww… I placed the money quote in bolt text but WordPress dropped it.
Let’s try again.
“For people under 60 the fatality rate from COVID-19 is less than 0.1 percent. But the rate of blood clot events after AstraZeneca vaccination is slightly higher than that,” he said.
While the rest of the world were rushing to pre-order the Pfizers and Modernas, Calamity Moon and his underlings sat by and did nothing believing their vaunted ‘K-quarantine’ will hold back the pandemic.
That and they wanted to spend their precious tax Won on things that will benefit them only.
When they realized that they will get a lot of blowback as a result of Koreans not being vaccinated, they went into overdrive and tried to secure the vaccines.
Of course the easiest and cheapest solution were the AZ shots which conveniently were produced by SK here in Korea. It also made for good publicity. “Koreans are being vaccinated with Korean-made vaccines”, which fit nicely into the leftist nationalist agenda.
But alas the situation with AZ and the blood clots has clearly shown the folly of Calamity Moon and his leftist followers. And that during a time when they are getting a lot of flak and lost two major elections.
TOK is probably 100 percent correct.
Getting the AZ vaccine is currently more dangerous than Winnie-Fauxi Disease
TOK, the UK is on the verge of gaining herd immunity by end of next week, and they did it mostly by using the Astra Zeneca vaccine.

As for this blatant lie:
“While the rest of the world were rushing to pre-order the Pfizers and Modernas”
The rest of the world? You mean EU, US, Canada, and Japan – the OECD. The rest of the world got very little vaccines because the EU slapped export controls on Pfizer and AZ vaccines, while the US also slapped severe export controls on Moderna and Pfizer vaccines. How is your beloved country of Japan doing vaccinating their people after ordering 150 million doses way back in September 2020? It was later found that Pfizer’s only guarantee of delivery was that they would try hard to meet the Japanese demand. LOL. Canada has only vaccinated 2 million so far, despite ordering early, 50 million doses of Pfizer and Moderna vaccines back in November 2020 but ended up getting only a small portion of the promised batches.
So this accusation that South Korea didn’t order their vaccine is the reason why there’s a vaccine shortage is a crock of sh*t. You could have ordered the vaccines back in 2020, but none of the vaccine companies ever promised in writing that they would deliver the promised batches to any country, nor do they have the capability at this time to meet the worldwide shortage (after the EU and US hog all the vaccines for themselves).
South Korea making the AZ and other vaccines, is a blessing that should be celebrated, not lambasted. Without that in-house manufacturing capability, the vaccinations would have stopped and come to a crawl, since you’ll be totally depended on the generosity of other countries that manufacture those vaccines. The vaccination program in South Korea would have gone much more faster without people like you and the rightwing Korean press that keeps printing and keeps emphasizing unfounded negative news on the AZ vaccine in their effort to politically embarrass the ruling party. It’s the people like you, which is causing the slower vaccine rollout.
South Korea could easily stop all AZ vaccine exports that are made in the country to the rest of the world, and only ship to South Korean destinations. But unlike the US and EU, SK is still adhering to the spirit of sharing the vaccines with other countries (especially the developing countries who have been left out) instead of hogging all the vaccines for themselves.
Y’all missing the point.
The vaccines are unnecessary for most of the population… and are actually more dangerous than life-saving for people under 60. And nobody has any idea what the long-term effects might be…
…which is a good reason to test them on children… as long as they are British.
I would like to believe Korea’s lagging vaccine program is actually a wise wait-and-see response cleverly disguised as incompetence.
Whatever the case, if the vaccine was safe and effective, the international race scolds would be screaming about white privilege.
Wouldn’t it be interesting if in 20 years, the only people who could reproduce viable babies were Koreans (who would choose not to), the inhabitants of the Shìthole Countries (who won’t quit) and anti-vaxxers (who will generate industrial quantities of smugness).
Whatever the case, since choking on food is a bigger killer than covid for the under-50 crowd, the wise path is likely to let the vaccine keep being tested on American liberals and Karen’s before pushing on an entire population.
Choking on food is probably a bigger killer than covid for the under-90 crowd, unless (like the NY Times) one adds in all other cause of death (like fatal wounds from drive-by shootings and car accidents, end-stage renal failure, cancer, heart disease, emphysema, et cetera ad nauseum) in order to get those sweet, sweet, CDC covid death checks…
Korean Man,
Again you failed to do your research.
As of March 2021, the UK administered 10.8 million first doses of the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine and 15.8 million doses of the Oxford University/AstraZeneca vaccine.
So your claim that “they did it mostly by using the Astra Zeneca vaccine” is incorrect.
And, as for your other claim that the right were responsible for the slow vaccine rollout, the leftist were the same if not worse when it came to raising skepticism about the vaccine.
You see the government’s intentions were to take it slow and at first they claimed that they could afford to wait and see how the other countries are doing before starting the vaccinations. A position strongly supported by the leftists. The leftists also claimed that the vaccines were ‘unsafe’ and ‘could not be trusted’.
Then why the 360 degree turn?
It seems someone withing the ruling party who had brains told the rest of the ruling party and the government the ramifications of delaying the vaccinations(ie Korea being left out of the upcoming global reopening, Koreans not being able to enter other countries because of the lack of vaccinations, etc.)
TOK, let’s take your UK vaccination data at face value. 15.8 million doses of AZ is still the majority of vaccination. Without the AZ vaccine, the UK cannot possibly be facing herd immunity by next week. Can you at least admit that part?
As for the 360 degree turn by the SK government, that was caused by the rightwing carelessly and intentionally creating new waves through illegal mass gatherings by churchgoers like that pastor who organized anti-government protests infecting even himself. If it wasn’t for all the rightwing idiots infecting themselves and others creating waves after waves of new infection breakouts, SK government’s plans would have let other countries experiment with possible side effects like how Australia, NZ, and Taiwan are doing right now. Those countries took the same strategy as what SK government planned to do before the f-ing religious rightwing idiots started new mass waves.
So the game changed due to new waves, and SK has no choice to change strategy and order more vaccines much earlier than planned. But like I already pointed out, ordering those new vaccines earlier still would not have made any difference because the vaccine manufacturers in Europe and America are priortizing their own populations first. You still haven’t answered my point about how Canada and Japan ordered their vaccines so early and yet they still have severe shortage like SK.
I did a little math here. In 2019 UK’s population was 66.65 million. Assuming the worst, zero population growth (which is not likely in the UK) your numbers say 26.6 million doses have been administered. I will for this comment assume these are full two dose course and not total shots which is a mix of 1 & 2 doses. The calculator says that’s 39.9% vaccinated, no where near the 65-75% various experts toss around as herd immunity, which before 2020 was believed to be over 80%. So I am to believe that the UK will vaccinate 25% of their population in one week? The last I read albeit a few weeks old Israel is the closest to achieving anything like herd immunity.
Another reason AZ vaccine is not coming quickly out of the UK, is their decision to divorce the EU. Their Customs Ministry sat on their hands until December to work out an export deal with the EU and 4 months in no one (including the Brits) know what the rules are. The EU is their primary export partner as of January and still their primary conduit of exporting pharmaceuticals to the world. My job involves logistics and we can’t even get a complete written copy of the new rules.
2ID Doc, it was all explained in the Korean link I provided above. Thanks.
Yeah, Doc, ten-cent boy doesn’t need to read GI’s links; but he expects everyone else to supply clicks to his masters…
In regards to Korean Man’s latest comment, it seems his logic is ‘the Korean government wanted to take it slow for the vaccines but couldn’t because of all the right wing protests.’
I’m not a big fan of the pastor myself, but if my memory is correct, the protests in questions happened during August, leading to a new round of infections which died down in October.
The Korean government relaxed social distancing rules then and naturally infection rates started increasing again, which was a never ending year long cycle that could have been avoided had the Korean government took a more active step in filtering people who were entering from the PRC.
As for the vaccines, the Korean government didn’t unveiled its plan to procure vaccines until early December. Before that the government’s position was ‘no need to rush the procurement of vaccines we can take it slow’ and went so far to suggest that masks were the ‘best vaccine’.
So from the looks of it the right had little to do with the government’s about face in regards to procuring vaccines.
Had the Korean government been more smart, we would have started vaccinations on December with Pfizers and would have been halfway through the process.
Correction on the last paragraph
Had the Korean government been more smart, we would have started vaccinations on December with Pfizers and would have been halfway through the process by now.
TOK, at least half of the infections came from Protestant Christian churches who are mostly homophobic rightwing haters who support Park Geun Hye and Park Jung Hee. The Christian right are the single biggest obstacle to Korea’s future. What happened in August with that preacher was just one of many examples where the right tried so hard to torpedo South Korea’s efforts at fighting the infection.
ten-cent boy, show us the names of all of the sick, their church affiliation, and documented proof of where they got it from: church, bus, train, taxi, office, restaurant, sporting event, bar, etc.
Otherwise, you’re lying out your behing butthole, right?
