When they say “pro-democracy”, they mean it like “Democratic Peoples’ Republic of Korea”…

And naive people assume they aren’t fascist murderers willing to put their family, friends, and neighbors into death camps if the Party so orders… in spite of the 100 Million dead from Socialists in the 20th Century, the current camps in North Korea, and the genocide against the Uighur people in China…

I can’t see how anyone born in America could stomach living in a communist country. Unless they themselves were just that evil and wanted to spread it.

Communism (and a lot of socialism) attracts a lot of stupid losers, who can’t excell on their own, with the promise of being just as rewarded and empowered as the smart hard-working winners… without the effort necessary to get smart or work hard.

If you want to find a loser, find someone pushing loser-empowering ideologies.

It also attracts predators who use the false promises of communism/socialism to manipulate the losers into enthusiastically promoting their agenda… which has nothing to do with communism or socialism or equality of any sort.

I have yet to meet a Bernie Bro who didn’t have a high opinion of themselves and their completely worthless skilless “education” and weren’t angry because they weren’t getting the money and position they felt they were entitled to.

Hired a seemingly well qualified system administrator some years ago. Dude had every entry-level CompTIA, Windows, and Cisco certifications a person can have. Oh, this guy’ll be good … I thought. He was useless; had zero troubleshooting/problem-solving skills. A certification queen. Couldn’t figure out simple things like adding a printer to the network. Was gone in four months.

But yeah, this was the same guy whose initial onboarding was held up because he wanted to renegotiate his salary AFTER signing the offer letter.

I learned later; he literally lived in his mom’s basement.

And I’m now suspicious of anyone who has more than two or three certs.
