Former U.S. Official Claims that Japan Would Defend Taiwan If China Attacked
|Considering Japan’s pacifist Constitution, I am not sure legally how they would be allowed to respond if just Taiwan was attacked. Additionally the Chinese would more likely blockade Taiwan prior to any attack which makes Japanese involvement even more Constitutionally difficult:
Tokyo would step up militarily to defend Taiwan if Beijing moved to reunify the island with mainland China by force, former deputy national security adviser Matt Pottinger said in a panel discussion on Tuesday with other top Trump administration officials.
Pottinger, considered one of the key architects of the Trump administration’s hardline China policies, said Japan first suggested a quadrilateral alliance with the US, India and Australia – now known as the “Quad” – as a defense strategy against China. He also pushed back on assertions that the former administration strained ties with Japan and other allies in the region. (…….)
“There’s a saying in the Japanese military: ‘Taiwan’s defense is Japan’s defense.’ And, and I think that Japan will act accordingly,” Pottinger added.

I often wonder about the veracity and wisdom of people who talk to reporters.
That message wasn’t meant for you and me.
And the reporter was only a messenger.
Certainly. But I’m wondering if Japan would do anything while Joey Leg Hairs is still making money from Beijing…
Just like the plot was bigger than Trump, the plot is also bigger than Puppet Biden.
(On the doll, show me where the bad man touched you… wait… what the hell? The doll is touching you now, too?)
There are battle lines clearly being drawn… and America and China are on opposite sides.
My theory is this has to do with a debt-based financial system that is overwhelmed and unsustainable and needs to have the losers pay for the winners… and America needs to win while it still can. It is unclear what victory would look like… except that things don’t change much for America except national debt reduction.
Also, the rich are going to get richer, the poor are going to remain poor, the super-poor will be elevated to normal poor, and the middle class is going to shrink greatly.
“Debt Slavery” will be more of a thing… as enjoying life will require more rentals and subscriptions… while technology, law, and engineered social structure will discourage creativity or independence… unless you are paying a premium for it.
This is not a sure thing. Technology can release a lot of freedom and independence. But the forces controlling against it are smart and plotting and resourceful and organized and very high-tech.
Good luck!
That’s why I don’t understand why people think hoarding precious metals or cryptocurrencies will save them. Can’t make soup outta olatinum or dogecoin…
Maybe I had better cultivate some friendships with local farmers…
Who knows what will happen. What the globalist ruling elite, the corporatiats, and the ideologues want to happen are not a sure thing in any way.
Commerce will continue in some form… and the demand for some things you hoard or can produce will still exist… for which you will be rewarded… even if it has to be against law or policy to do so.
If I was allowed to hoard one thing, it would be ammo. With these easy-to-store/subdivide units, all other things become purchasable. It seems as if others share this idea.
If you ignore the programming telling you otherwise, you can live happily without 200 TV channels and the latest software updates that your friends all have.
What do you really need?
Water
Food
Shelter
Weapons
Medical
Power
Communication
Have a plan to satisfy those desires in most situations and you are ahead of the masses.
Can’t make soup outta olatinum or dogecoin…
Dogecoin has the best memes, brah.
CH, I do want power… POWER! *ahem* Electrical power to run my PC lab, that is…
Liz, I completely agree. Wish I could afford a box full of souvenir dogecoin, but the real ones at 1 DOGE = $0.37 USD, are selling above my paygrade… Wife thinks I already have enough useless clutter…

Hey I think I’ll buy some of those real dogecoins for stocking stuffers (for our boys) this year! those are awesome! 🙂
Then again, it might be too old an idea in six months. Things go by so fast these days…
Liz, I think that even though it started as a joke, it’s more solid than bitcoin.
OTOH, you could buy ’em each a nice Study Bible (possibly ESV or NASB), a hardback of Atlas Shrugged, and an M1 Carbine from the CMP. Those will never go out of style. Of course, those *are* more than $5 each…
I also think a small cloth US flag they can hide in case things do go sideways and we USAians need to move out of the limelight. My wife got a 4″ × 6″ flag at her citizenship ceremony and the fellow next to her gave his to me.
Of course, with the “blood chit” in my A2, it’s gonna be hard to camouflage my opinions. C’est la vie.
