Tokyo Now Off Limits to U.S. Troops Due to Surge in COVID Cases
With the growing COVID wave in Tokyo it was only a matter of time before this happened:
Japan’s capital city, host to the Summer Olympics, reported another 3,300 new coronavirus cases Friday, as U.S. military commands began restricting their populations’ access to the inner city.
Some U.S. commanders, alarmed at the all-time high rate of new infections in Tokyo, put the city off-limits altogether, even for fully vaccinated individuals. U.S. bases in Japan reported 20 new coronavirus patients on Friday.
Tokyo is experiencing its fifth and most extreme coronavirus wave, in sheer volume of new cases. It reported its one-day pandemic high, 3,865 new patients, on Thursday.

Officially, 4000 a day infection in Tokyo, and 10,000 nationwide. But they’re saying this is just tip of the iceberg due to Japan hiding the real numbers by carrying out enough covid tests a day by design. The number of infection rate per number of tests is 40%, meaning they’re only testing if they absolutely have to. Japan’s hospitals are also overwhelmed with sick patients, and yet they took 500 medical nurses from those hospitals and ordered them to deploy for the Olympics – further straining an already collapsed medical system. Many sick Japanese are dying in their homes and even on streets – their deaths disguised as heat stroke. They can hide all they want to save their deteriorating international image, but it won’t prevent the truth from coming out pretty soon.

Japan infections now exploding, reaches up to 15,000 in one day only. The multiplier effect will ensure the numbers should reach 40,000 per day in a couple of week or so, if not even far sooner. Not counting all those people who can’t get tested because Japanese government wants to keep the numbers down as much as possible. Japan spiralling our of control. Meanwhile in Korea, more mass vaccinations and stiffer social distances is working, as the number of infected is down to 800’s today, as of late afternoon. So we should see a number below a thousand for the first time in weeks.
