USFK Reports 40 New COVID Cases in 2 Days

The COVID spread is getting worse in USFK:

U.S. Forces Korea on Tuesday announced the fastest surge of new coronavirus cases among its personnel, surpassing a record set in July.

Forty people, including U.S. military family members and South Korean contractors, tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday and Friday, the command said in a news release. The previous record was 37 infections over a three-day span between July 5 and 7.

Fifty-one USFK personnel tested positive between Aug. 23 and Friday, which is, so far, fewer than the previous record of 58 cases during a weeklong period in July.

Stars & Stripes

You can read more at the link, but according to the article half the cases are at Osan Airbase. It is unknown if the higher number of positives had anything to do with the maskless party recently held at the Enlisted Club.

“Getting worse.”

How many dead?

ChickenHead
ChickenHead

The reason deaths over 50 are mostly vaxxed and deaths under 50 are mostly unvaxxed is because the over-50 group were the first vaxxed.

In a couple months, when the under 50 group has been vaxxed as long as the over 50 group currently has, let’s all check these numbers again.

The booster/3rd shot/desperate move/panic injection may hide this for another 6 months.

CH, I think you’re right.

My wife and I are bucking the social tide right now; but we’ve both beaten cancer (by the grace of God) and we take care to wash our hands regularly.

We haven’t been sick from anything this year except the news of our craven, gormless, feckless, pusillanimous knave-in-chief (and his handlers) latest failures.

In comparison with Joey Leg Hairs, Moonpie is a “stable genius”. Even our KM from Beijing is a brighter bulb.

Not so fast

https://news.sky.com/story/covid-19-data-shows-vaccines-reduce-risk-of-hospitalisation-and-death-but-you-need-to-read-it-with-a-clear-head-12365728

And the takeaway from the article;

From the beginning of this pandemic it’s been very easy to take figures out of context – whether to alarm people or to delude them. This is another one of those instances where context is phenomenally important.

The vaccines are reducing the risk of hospitalisation and death from COVID-19. It is there in the data – provided you read it with a clear head.

Bovine scatology. They are not providing any details. Just fluff.

Also, Sky is Australia. And they send swat teams out to kill stray dogs so that people won’t leave their homes to rescue them.

Gotta read the room better, TOK. And the governments have lied so many times in the past 18 months, we’ll never know the truth.

TOK

Well, setnaffa, if you want to believe the government’s being lying to you, and want to continue to believe that the virus and the vaccines are all fake, that’s your prerogative.

But as someone who had had close brushes with the virus in question in a society with loose and unenforced social distancing laws(come to Korea, with the exception of the masks, the thermometers in the entrances, the cumbersome entrance regulations for people coming in from overseas and the occasionally person in the suit, you will be forgiven for thinking that Korea is not under the pandemic), I will take my precautions and the pandemic more seriously than the typical Trump supporter.

You’ve been lucky that the virus hasn’t touched you or the persons close to you. Hope it stays that way.

setnaffa has had a brush with cancer, is old, and to top it off unvaccinated.

A perfect person to get infected, but not infected yet. Why is that?

It seems that he doesn’t go out much which means less contact with other persons and explains the fact that he hasn’t been infected yet.

If he is not going out on purpose that means despite what he’s saying he’s scared of the virus and is practicing proper social distancing.

Hypocrisy!!

Like the orange skinned person he obviously supports.

The problem with speculating on vaccines or no vaccines or masks or lockdowns or whatever is the data that would allow us to form valid opinions is not collected, not released, or based on outright lies.

That information alone is enough to form a valid opinion.

Let’s look at what is happening.

Questionable statiatics aside, early adopters such as Israel are having some sort of issue worth noting… while covid-denying Sweden seems to be fine.

That is enough information to form some valid opinions.

Let’s look at structure.

Everything is design to promote covid fear and the increased power grabs and financial fraud that goes with it. Nothing is really designed to promote true public health.

That is enough information to form some valid opinions.

Let’s look at history.

The pharmaceutical industry have a long history of fraud, deception, hiding bad results, you name it. Did they change their corporate culture for just this incident?

That is enough information to form a valid opinion.

Pointing to a statistic released by those who wish to promote a narrative is not really good information to form a valid opinion unless the statistic fits into an entire framework of knowledge.

An opinion on covid is not a look at a statistic of questionable validity. It is based on an understanding of how government, corporations, and people operate… and an honest evaluation of the situation and how it fits with the way the world works.

Anybody who makes fun of people for thinking “the government is lying to you” or even cares about you should go to Afghanistan and wait for their rescue flight.

TOK, I know the virus is not fake, so stuff your strawman arguments. (BTW, those with Ph.Ds are more likely to avoid the jab. Why is that?)

What I’m saying is the same gov’t talking heads (including WHO, CDC, NIH, and FSA) have had 12 different views about masks, going to Chinatown, lied about lockdowns (“two weeks to slow the spread”), lied about covid cases (we still don’t know), lied about hospitalizations, lied about effective medications, lied about deaths (of covid, with covid, or just we need the covid money), and lied about everything else.

And folks like Obama, Pelosi, Biden, and Fauci have been very cavalier about going maskless. Same with many other leaders who demand yhe masks and yhe lockdowns.

They’re even lying about the effectiveness of the PCR testing, the so-called “vaccinations” (actually gene-therapy), and the so-called “variants’.

No reasonable person can make a reasonable assumption that the government is acting in good faith.

Maybe if they had not be so mendaciously NeverTrump at the beginning, we could believe some of what they say; but that ship sailed 18 months ago and sank itself.

I know at least 76 people who have had the disease. All recovered. Only 4 had to be hospitalized. The guy with 6 heart stents spent 11 days. The guy who had had a stroke before covid spent 6 days. The other two spent 4 days. All had comorbidities (diabetes or taking chemo on the last two) and had experienced a large viral load due to household members with the bug.

Of course China, Inc. wants Americans and Koreans terrified, cowering in a corner somewhere. That’s why KM is such a compassionate son of a running dog.

Healthy people have nothing to fear if they wash their hands and avoid swapping spit with strangers.

While it would certainly be nice to be as decent of human being as Setnaffa, I am afraid I don’t rank that high.

If you would like to specifically address any point I made, I would be delighted to discussed it with you.

If you are unable to do that, it is likely your opinion does not matter… as an opinion that cannot be discussed and defended is not an opinion. It is simply regurgitation of propaganda and programming… and only worthy of ridicule.

TOK, you are also welcome to share your thoughts. I have given a very brief statement why the pandemic and the vaccines (both belonging in scare quotes) are very likely not what the official narrative is portraying them as. Feel free to explain your opinion and why you hold that opinion.

The usual reaction when confronted with an accusation of using multiple identities is to either ignore it and/or lightly brush it off.

Korean Man showed all of us a good example of the above.

But from the strong reactions shown by CH/Setnaffa, it seems that I have inadvertently hit the sweet spot.

And today Setnaffa has been gracious to share with us a new fact. The fact that he still works at home.

As Korean Man once mentioned, I thought he was an old man on meds. But if he’s still working, then maybe not so old?

Also, Setnaffa despite his ideas of the government lying to him about the pandemic chooses to stay at home and isolate himself, which would clearly explain why he has not been infected despite his refusal to wear a mask or get vaccinated.

So, if he thinks that he has been lied to by the government, then why not leave the house mask less? Unless of course, deep down he believes what he has been told and is afraid of getting infected by the virus.

Trump has shown hypocrisy, no reason why his followers shouldn’t.

Of course if Setnaffa/CH is a Russian bot, then that would explain the inconsistencies.

ChickenHead
ChickenHead

Korea Person has a lot to say… which can be a good thing… but upon closer inspection, like an empty can, it is all just noise.

It doesn’t matter if Setnaffa and I are the same Russian bot.

Address my points concerning covid and the vaccine… and share your counter-thoughs with the reasoning behind them or your existence here is meaningless.

Too many people yap and yap and yap… but they can’t explain the reasoning behind their yapping.

Somebody can be wrong. Information can change or expand. Opinions can evolve as understanding increases. But if people hold or reject a belief but cannot explain why… they are nothing.

They are a tool of their cognitive masters rather than a rational human. And they may be treated as something less than human by those who oppose them… just as they are treated as less than human by those who use them.

Korea Person, instead of fantasizing about Setnaffa’s work life, how about discussing the issue.

TOK
TOK

OK, I’ll bite.

It seems that the main focus of the discussion is as follows;

1. Whether or not we have been lied to by the government
2. Whether or not we should get vaccinated or let the virus run its course

I will only speak for Korea, since I live here and get to see thing first hand.

First point. Despite the Moon government’s somewhat clumsy handling of the pandemic, I do not think the government is lying to its people or using it as a means of “control”.

Let’s take testing. The testing may or may not provide us with an accurate picture of the situation, because it’s a sampling of the general population. With a few exceptions, such as those entering the country or those in the epicenter of an infection, no one is being forced to get tested. However if there were in a location where a person got positively infected, then it is recommended for the person to get tested and usually he or she will go to the testing center to get tested. Because they want to go to bed knowing that everything’s being cleared up.

Now if a lot of people go get tested and those people tested positive well of course the numbers will naturally go up.

Then should we panic?

Well depends on one’s point of view. But as per the article I linked in which setnaffa graciously trashed, it says that we should “look at the numbers with a clear head.”

As for me the numbers are not good, but no need to panic. And with a few exceptions since no one is being forced to get tested there isn’t government manipulation of the numbers.

If there’s manipulation then it’s the government moving the goal posts.

But those goal posts are more akin to the government trying to find an excuse to reduce the social distancing measures, because they know that the measures only make people angry, especially during election season.

There were times when the government dragged its feet for increasing social distancing measures and when they did decide to increase, watered it down, compared to the previous announced measures.

I don’t have the numbers with me but I can comfortably claim that the government has increased the benchmark number of infections for the social distancing levels.

But even with the increases, the numbers have caught up and now we are in Level 4.

So, no in the case of Korea the government ain’t lying or misleading us. Clumsy, yes but conspiracy no.

The next favorite subject vaccines.

For Koreans over forty, one of the disease that afflicts them is the Herpes Zoster. It is painful especially when blisters appear on the skin and in some cases you will have to go to the hospital.

Why bring this up?

Because there is a vaccine for this. It is very expensive and one-shot for the rest of your life.

Since one of my relatives, came down hard with this disease, I decided it was prudent to get vaccinated.

The doctor explained that just because I got the vaccine does not mean I will be 100% immune from the disease. But even if I did get infected, the body will be able to fight it off better which means I will experience mild symptoms before my body rids itself of the virus.

Which brings us to the current crop of Covid vaccines.

I don’t know where you got that idea, but no one expected the vaccines to be perfect, and in the case of the Korean government, they didn’t tell Koreans it was perfect.

However, if you are not lucky then you can get the virus and if you are more unlucky then you can get seriously ill or maybe die.

Statistically, I’m in agreement that if you are young and healthy the chances of the above happening are low. But if you are old and/or have underlying conditions then maybe getting the vaccine and some form of protection is better than no protection at all. And if the vaccines help reduce the transmission rate, the more the better.

Like the case of the above Herpes Zortes, some protection is better than no protection.

Which brings us to why the Korean government is pushing the vaccines onto the population.

As I stated previously, most Koreans who get Covid are not seriously ill. But since there is a chance that they can and to prevent them further spreading the virus they are taken to a “treatment center”, usually a converted officetel or dorm, until their bodies have fought it off.

If they get seriously ill, then they are taken to a hospital which have been equipped to take the patients.

The effort above is taxing since the government is paying for all of this and requires a lot of manpower.

And it can’t go on forever.

With enough vaccinations(Korean government is aiming for 80% vaccination rate before announcing “with Covid”), Korea will hopefully be into a situation where the numbers are manageable so as not to require cumbersome restrictions and the large number of facilities to isolate and treat the infected.

But anyways, the best solution is a pill like Tamiflu. Until then, the vaccine even with its imperfections is the best thing we have.

Ah yes, the shingles vaccine. Let’s review and decide for ourselves.

There are two: Zostavax and Shingrix.

Shingrix is the newer one and recommended for adults 50 and over.

Zostavax was the first generation shingles vaccine but is no longer available. Wanna know why?

It was CAUSING shingles.

You would expect the FDA (responsible for protecting us against dubious health products, right?) to come clean, admit mistakes in licensing it in the first place, and maybe apologize.

No. None of the above. The FDA approved Shingrix AND recommended everyone who had Zostavax to be revaccinated with Shingrix.

If you knew this history about shingles vaccine products, would you still take the shot?

I did not know that about the shingles vaccination…thank you!
Makes sense my brother had a horrible attack of shingles a few years back, and he got the vaccine. Of course, “it would have been worse if he didn’t get it!” He lost 20 pounds, it was really really bad.
Anyway, two senior FDA vaccine regulators are stepping down in protest over this business. Anyone convinced something just MIGHT be wrong now?

From the article:
Their announced plans to depart come as the Biden administration prepares to begin offering Covid vaccine booster shots to the general public the week of Sept. 20. Some health experts saw the move as premature and political, especially because the FDA hasn’t finished reviewing data on boosters yet.

Endpoints News, a biotech industry publication, reported that the officials are leaving because they’re frustrated that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and its advisory committee are involved in decisions they think should be up to the FDA.

The final straw was when the White House got ahead of the agency on booster shots, according to Endpoints News, citing a former senior FDA leader.

When asked at a briefing later Tuesday whether the departures will affect trust in the FDA, White House Covid czar Jeff Zients said the decision to distribute boosters was made by a number of senior health officials, including acting FDA Commissioner Dr. Janet Woodcock.

“As our medical experts laid out, having reviewed all the available data, it is in their clinical judgment that it is time to prepare Americans for a booster shot,” he said.

The FDA’s acting commissioner actually has the last name Woodcock?

setnaffa

“The woodcocks are a group of seven or eight very similar living species of wading birds in the genus Scolopax. The genus name is Latin for a snipe or woodcock, and until around 1800 was used to refer to a variety of waders. The English name was first recorded in about 1050. — Wikipedia”

In other words, the White House told the FDA, “Hold this bag and we’ll chase the birds to you…” The two probably decided not to be saps.

Although the vaccinated employees are statistically just as likely to be carrying Winnie’s Wuhan Wog (Yes, it’s an Aussie word that means “an illness or infection, typically a minor one.” Look it up!), only the unvaxxed are considered “unclean.”

I’m not denying some people have died from the “Sino Sinus Syphilus” as CH once named it. But Lord Caernarvon, the dude who finance Howard Carter’s expedition to dig up King Tut died from an infected mosquito bite. In statistical terms, it’s kinda meh. I do not believe any country, even South Korea, has been totally honest about infection vs. hospitalization vs death and the demographics behind that.

Now it it’s your family member, that’s very sad; but maybe not a good reason to (a) lock down a nation or the world, (b) force people to be injected with experimental gene therapy that obviously doesn’t work as advertised, or (c) pretend it’ll all go away if we’re good little sheep.

And, as I stated earlier, one of my doctors told me to wait. So I will–at least until December, when I get to ask again.

Meanwhile, take another look at how well masked and socially-distanced Obama’s birthday party was. And also the Taliban. If the pandemic pr0n was even close to accurate, they should all be dead by now.

Quick Score Update:

People I know who died from covid: 0
People I know who died from covid vax: 1

Nice. So I just found out someone I know got vaxxed and a week later died from heart inflammation. The vaxxed side of the family that pressured him into it and the unvaxxed sude are now at war.

While the doctor said this was exactly a symptom of known covid vaccine side effects, I will be curious to see if this is documented as a covid vaccine death. My guess is no. I will find out after the family trauma has subsided.

I wonder how many other cases like this go officially unnoticed.

I know someone who has had syncopal episodes since the vaccine (think I mentioned him). They haven’t determined it to be vaccine related, but it was very coincidental. He has broken a few bones from falls since (and had three surgeries related to the falls).
My spouse flew with a flight attendant whose brother has had headaches so severe he isn’t able to work anymore, and the guy he flew with said his arm (not the injection arm, the OTHER one, strangely) was paralyzed for a day after getting the jab.
Also the father and uncle of a friend of ours both died within 10 days after getting the jab.
These are all outlier coincidences, but the one percent who die of covid (no one I know either…and our entire mountain has had it, to include our family with the exception of moi). That’s something we need to shut down the economy for and demand everyone get these jabs.
