U.S. Marine Bases in Japan Continue to See Growing COVID Case Numbers

The Marines in Japan continue to have rising COVID case numbers:

Another 73 people were confirmed positive for COVID-19 at Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni over the four-day New Year’s holiday, according to base news releases Friday and Monday.

The base 25 miles south of Hiroshima has reported 143 cases of the coronavirus respiratory disease since Dec. 27. Its new case numbers surged suddenly but fall short of the 200-plus at Marine Corps bases on Okinawa where a viral cluster erupted in mid-November.

Another Marine Corps installation, Combined Arms Training Center Camp Fuji, reported 10 COVID-19 cases between Dec. 27 and 28, according to a base news release Wednesday.

Tokyo reported 103 new cases Monday, the first time the capital city has confirmed more than 100 infections on one day since Oct. 8, according to NHK.

The public broadcaster also reported Monday that Okinawa prefecture, where the bulk of U.S. forces in Japan are stationed, reported 130 cases Monday, breaking 100 for the first time since Sept. 25.

Okinawa public health authorities reported 235 cases within the U.S. military on Saturday, a single-day record for that population, according to The Asahi newspaper on Sunday. A spokesman for Marine Corps Installations Pacific did not return an email request for comment Monday from Stars and Stripes.

Japan overall reported 477 new cases Sunday, according to the Johns Hopkins Coronavirus Resource Center.

You can read more at the link, but Japan with 477 case numbers is still incredibly low though the number has been growing the past three weeks.

Amazing! COVID-19 spreading like a virus! Whodathunkit!

One wonders if anyone wearing a reflective belt picked up the disease?

Also, “cases” may be asymptomatic, which has some people panicking.

Even using the Safe and Effective vaccine and having multiple booster injections, as required of all in the USMC who wish to stay in the USMC, does not prevent acquiring, suffering from, or spreading the current variants.

Maybe some people need more jabs? If only there was a simple solution…

as some have been saying, masks are worth fuckall…(GI from CNN the most approved government propaganda outlet so you should be happy) “Don’t wear a cloth mask. Cloth masks are little more than facial decorations. There’s no place for them in light of omicron,” Wen told CNN, Townhall tweeted.

Masks are not to protect anyone from covid. They are just a badge of compliance easily visible to those expecting compliance… citizen.

Clearly the Marines need Moar Safe and Effective.

Why haven’t they been provided with this month’s Booster?

C’mon, CH… You know “the Marines always get it after the Army does…”

Conveniently ignoring scientific facts while going about spreading falsehoods, hoaxes, and fake news.

For what, I wonder?

Korean Person,

Simply explain how you have a covid outbreak in a 100% vaccinated population.

Bonus point if you can tie this in to Safe and Effective.

Dear Comrade Setnaffova’s dimwitted sidekick or is it Dear Comrade himself?

Then Explain.

Out of 100 people who are vaccinated how many will get infected and out of that how many will recover without serious symptoms that require hospitalization and death?

Out of 100 people who are not vaccinated how many will get infected and out of that how many will get seriously ill and die?

How many jabs has humorless scold “Korean Person”, the sadly obvious Chimese troll had?

We would gladly answer the questions posed, if any government health agencies would release the actual numbers.

Failing that, all we’re left with is mockery of the patently amateurish Kabuki Theatre put on to identify who is a good little serf.

And the good little serfs.

Happy New Year, y’all. Make sure you’re Safe and Effective!

Korean Person,

That is a legitimate question.

Fortunately, I have already had to convince some “trust the science” types… so I just happen to have the science.

TLDR:

Based on Germany, Denmark, and (possibly¹) the UK… official government numbers directly from official government websites…

Those who are boosted are protected from delta and omicron, as they are largely underrepresented among the hospitalized. So you are absolutely right. I highly encourage you to get your booster every 3 to 6 months for the rest of your life. Not only will you always be right, but you will always be Safe and Effective.

On the opposite end, the unvaccinated are ~50% underrepresented in hospitalizations for omicron and ~25% overrepresented for delta.

And then the vaxxed. Highly overrepresented for both delta and omicron. You are better off to be unvaxxed than (outdated) vaxxed. This is why the big push for boosters. They do prolong the protection for some months… and they delay anyone admitting the vaccines aren’t going as promised.

Everyone with their thinking cap on knows what happens after Shot #3 because governments are already purchasing (or offering) Shot #4.

As of now, government is acting like they know eventually it will be better to be unvaccinated than vaxxed and only single boosted.

And in reality, the protection spread between perpetually boosted and unvaxxed simply isn’t big enough for anyone not in a high risk demographic to trade a fair natural resistance to a disease that won’t hospitalized them for a better but perpetually boosted resistance to a disease that won’t hospitalized them.

But this brings up a great question.

Why are those with an outdated vax being hospitalized at a rate higher than the unvaxxed?

There are a number of theories, such as more risk-taking. But there are also theories (actually confirmed science with other vaccines) that:

– vaccines can sometimes actually help the virus infect cells by producing suboptimal antibodies (antibody-dependent enhancement)

– the immune system can be trapped fighting the virus it was originally immunized against instead of a slightly different version (original antigenic sin)

Of course the statistics to investigate this are “not kept” or not released.

Sooo… hopefully that answered your questions.

¹UK fits the same patterns as Denmark and Germany if you throw out London’s numbers which oddly favor the vaccinated. The suspicion is that they are fake.

Well right now I have self isolated (with my spouse) in the basement.
We have covid.
We got it from a person who had covid previously and was vaccinated three times. Not only did we catch it but so did people in his band and others in his circle of friends. I think this vaccinated person gave this to at least 10 people I know of.
He was feeling ill but went out for New Years anyway thinking it couldn’t possibly be covid…because vaccinated and boosted and already had it before.
My spouse had covid before and says it wasn’t as bad this time (we are in our third day). I’m not that much noticeably sicker.
Hope the boys don’t get it

Of little practical import, unless non-federalized TX National Guard troops deploy to South Korea, this just caught my eye:

In a letter to the adjutant general of the Texas National Guard, Gov. Greg Abbott ordered commanders not to “punish any guardsman for choosing not to receive a COVID-19 vaccine.”

“Unless President Biden federalizes the Texas National Guard in accordance with Title 10 of the U.S. Code, he is not your commander-in-chief under our federal or state Constitutions,” Abbott wrote. “And as long as I am your commander-in-chief, I will not tolerate efforts to compel receipt of a COVID-19 vaccine.”

“While I refuse to be commandeered into doing the federal government’s work, President Biden still poses a career-ending threat to Texas’s unvaccinated guardsmen,” he wrote. “Let me be crystal clear: It is the federal government that has put Texas’s guardsmen in this difficult position. As your commander-in-chief, I will fight on your behalf.”

I don’t know, Liz… your story doesn’t sound very Safe and Effective.

I hope you make it through OK… along with the other 99.9999% of the unobese without >3 comorbidities.

If it is omicron, probably the best thing that could happen is for your kids to get it… or, as the Eurofags say, get the “dirty” vaccine.

In the interest of science, see if you can determine how many people are involved in this cluster, vax status, age, BMI (or S/M/L/XL), comorbidities (diabetes, etc), and report your findings.

This is quite a good chance to collect some real world data.

Prediction (based on current (possibly incomplete) knowledge):

Delta
3 shot: underrepresented (<6 months)
2 shot: overrepresented (3 – 6 months after)
0 shot: overrepresented slightly

Omicron:
3 shot: underrepresented (<6 months)
2 shot: overrepresented (3 – 6 months after)
0 shot: underrepresented

There are some outside factors that could affect this… like unvaxxed people of like minds hanging together… so some built-in selection bias.

But in a random sample of 100 people, if shots and boosters did nothing, we would expect to see:

3 shots: 38
2 shots: 24
1 shot : 11
0 shots: 27

This reflects the unvaccinated, vaccinated, and boosted population of America.

Numbers higher and lower than that would give us a clue what is happening.

If this supports the theory that boosters (temporarily) protect and old 2 vaxxes invite infection, we can make a big deal.

If it doesn't support this theory, we can put the cherry picker away and yell statistic anomaly due to small sample size.

“CASES” WAS ALWAYS A SCAREMONGERING METRIC: Doctors Finally Get Real About Covid Hospitalizations Amid Omicron Spike. “An exacerbation of a chronic illness is not a Covid hospitalization. If a person with diabetes goes into diabetic ketoacidosis because of a viral infection, you treat the diabetic complication. Hospitals frequently see these complications in people with chronic conditions with influenza, pneumonia, and other acute illnesses. This phenomenon is not unique to Covid. However, it seems everyone has forgotten.”

Dear Comrade Setnaffova and the Knights of the Order of Fake News and Misinformation

Unlike u and ur sock puppets I have a job and a life which means I don’t spend all day every day putting up dozens of comments in the ROK Drop.

How many jabs has humorless scold “Korean Person”, the sadly obvious Chimese troll had?

Three. Of course!

We would gladly answer the questions posed, if any government health agencies would release the actual numbers.

Ah yes. The Dear Comrade and his sockpuppets do not hesitate to use numbers from fake news sites to buttress their anti-vax lies but are unwilling to use numbers from government sites.

And conveniently say that the government has not released them.

Or is it because you do not want to see the truth?

This is hypocrisy which the Dear Comrade has shown several times in the past.

Which includes accusing others of being trolls if they do not agree with him while using troll tactics himself.

This hypocrisy is also repeated by the bird brained ChickenHead who says “I don’t want to be vaccinated so leave me alone” but continually puts up fake news on behalf of the Dear Comrade as part of their campaign to discredit vaccines and spread lies. For what purpose, one can wonder.

Since these two are not shy about showing their hypocrisy it is no wonder that one can be excused for thinking that these two are the one and the same.

It is sad to see that the Dear Comrade has no morals to the point that he has decided to use the ROK Drop, a blog dedicated to Korean news and issues for spreading of fake news.

One only has to see the Recent Comment list to see that they are dominated by the Dear Comrade, Bird brain and liz or Liz where the contents are fake news about vaccines.

This may be the reason why GIKorea is recently adding his voice by commenting that a certain comment is fake news.

Korean Person,

You asked what would happen with vaccinated and unvaccinated people.

I explained exactly what would happen based on openly available government statistics. I then explained why it would happen (actually is happening).

This is where you say:

“Gosh, that makes sense. I guess I was wrong.”

“I don’t believe you. Show me statistics” (and then later say, “Gosh I was wrong.”)

“But but but”

However, simply ignoring it without intelligent comment is the pùssy equivalent of, “Gosh, I was wrong.”

Since you have no curiosity in working toward the truth, it appears you are only a standard troll looking to be contrary to whatever is factually presented simply to stir things up. It isn’t like we don’t have over a decade of experience with this type of loser.

But don’t worry. You are not really the audience for my comment. You are only the catalyst to get it written up.

Good job.

Bird brained Chicken Head this is your summary of the overy long comment that hid your ignorance of the entire matter

UK fits the same patterns as Denmark and Germany if you throw out London’s numbers which oddly favor the vaccinated. The suspicion is that they are fake

So, tell me what scientific fact and figures you used to answer my question?

It doesn’t work like that.

You have to actually engage in conversation.

Try:

“I believe the statistics posted by the Danish government that show negative protection are actually due to high risk behavior by the double vaccinated or more frequent testing.”

Ooops. Too late. That’s how the Danish government already tried to rationalize it.

The article is behind a paywall… but here is a nice Twitter screenshot of Right-wing anti-vax mouthpiece… the Washington Post… saying two shots do nothing so get your booster!

Two weeks later, 43% boosted, and negative protection with two shots, the alarmism must be toned down to “Statistical artifact but you still should get a booster.”

None of this makes sense unless you look at it in terms of:

– the vaccine failed but more boosters kinda hide that by stretching out natural immunity where everyone eventually gets sick anyway over several years instead of all at once.

– the goal is not to stop covid but to get as much vaccine in as many people as possible as quickly as they can for unknown reasons.

My dear Товарищ Куриная Голова, surely you must realize the reason for pumping so many full of fake vaccines that permanently impair the immune system is to threaten to release an actually deadly, racially-engineered pathogen engineered to attack those who have had two or more doses of the swill to make lots of money.

Even our ever so busy Chinese Trolls with important jobs that keep them away so much that they hardly have time to post 12-paragraph misogynistic, raacist, and homophobic diatribes against the innocent members of the ‘Drop family.

What’s amazing to me is that they take my sarcasm seriously, proving they are commie trolls. That ilk typically don’t understand humor, can’t meme, and see everything through the lens of the current narrative.

I’ll leave this to remind them.

Not angry.

Not old.

Rather white.

And so goddamņ toxicly masculine that your shìt püssy will shrivel up into your panties even more than you thought possible.

P.S. lots of opportunity to comment on Korea if you have something intelligent to say. Right now, covid in general and Korea’s response is the hot topics… with the trolls encouraging everyone to spread some truth.

Knock yourself out with any conversation you want to start.

Going into day four and we’re pretty much over it. I think it was omicron, most likely. Anecdotally, most of the people in the circle of friends who got the covid from this guy were vaxxed and also had covid before. So it’s hard to say. One thing is for sure, this is very contagious…we did not talk to him for very long at all, maybe five minutes. But (knock on wood) it doesn’t seem bad. Think my recovery time is about the same as my spouse’s and he had covid before.
Per others, it just seems to depend on the person.
One overweight (nurse) friend had covid before, lost her sense of smell for one day and that was her only symptom. This time, no symptoms at all.
We’re meeting up Saturday after our quarantines are up, and hopefully I’ll find out more about the other members of the band (and others) who caught it.

But it is unpossible for the US military to spread covid.

They were 100% vAcCiNaTeD!

This can’t happen with this level of Safe and Effective.
