Korean Small Business Owners Hold Rally Against COVID Restrictions
Small business owners have been getting hammered by COVID restrictions and it appears they may have had enough:
Hundreds of restaurant and other small business owners demonstrated in central Seoul on Tuesday, demanding the government lift business hour curfews and sufficiently compensate them for losses from the prolonged anti-virus restraints.
Some 200 members of the so-called emergency association of small business hit by COVID-19 gathered near Gwanghwamun Square in central Seoul in a protest rally calling for the right to survival.

Completely unnecessary regulation that is, by obvious evidence, have no impact on the spread of the bad cold.

It certainly can’t be the threat of seeing a lifetime of work, goodwill, and savings evaporate because some unelected bureaucrats in China,the USA, and yes, even in South Korea, want to make a killing on Pfizer stock by mandating annual taxpayer-funded shots for every man, woman, and child…
This is a government set-up.
Either these people were protesting continuously but only got attention during the omicron panic…
…or they actually started protesting when they will get zero public support.
No Korean business owner has that little sense about what is going on.
When they decided to try to stop people from buying food, they lost the right to govern.

Not exactly.
There are no Covid restrictions against truckers and farmers, so they can care less.
On the other hand, the restaurant, bar, health club, and nighttime entertainment business owners and workers are not happy because they feel they have been asked to bore the brunt of the costs of the pandemic so that the government can get off easy
That and the lack of active support for these business and the inconsistent policies by the government has led to things boiling over and may help Yoon get a few more votes during the elections.
