Russia Threatens South Korea Over Possible Weapons Delivery to Ukraine

The Kremlin is threatening to send advanced weapons to North Korea if the ROK sends arms to Ukraine:

South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol speaks during an interview with Reuters at the presidential office in Seoul, Tuesday. (Yonhap)

Any decision by South Korea to supply arms to Ukraine would make Seoul a participant in the conflict, the Kremlin said on Wednesday, after President Yoon Suk Yeol opened the door to such deliveries.

South Korea has denounced Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and supplied economic and humanitarian aid to Kyiv, but unlike the United States and European allies has so far stopped short of sending weapons. (…..)

Former Russian president Dmitry Medvedev, a close ally of President Vladimir Putin who frequently makes hawkish comments on Russia’s military campaign in Ukraine, suggested Moscow could respond by supplying advanced weaponry to North Korea.

“I wonder what the inhabitants of this country (South Korea) will say when they see the latest designs of Russian weapons in the hands of their closest neighbors – our partners from the DPRK?” Medvedev said in a post on Telegram, referring to North Korea by its official name, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.

The conversation should go like this:

“We don’t get involved with politics. We will not give weapons to Ukraine. Hey, Ukraine, you wanna buy some weapons? No? You only take free weapons like a homeless bum picking up cigarette butts? What about all the money you got? Ah, luxury property in Europe? Got it. Say, Russia, you may have noticed how artillary is the hero of this war. Have you seen our fine line of artillary? Go ahaid. Kick the tires. And while you consider the extended warranty, keep in mind we know you aren’t giving NK jack shìt becasue you need that over on the western front because Poland is going to rush into Ukraine and NATO is going to deprive you of depth¹.”

¹Russia has survived its invasions becasue of depth. It has been a long way for an enemy to fight. But soon, the distance from NATO to Moscow and St. Petersburg will be measured in hundreds of miles.

I didn’t buy it before but I am increasingly convinced the Russia we see today will be somewhat broken up within 20 years… probably soon after Putin dies.

Turkish influence will come up through Georgia, Poland will be a bigger European power than France or Germany (thanks, USA), and a remilitarized Japan will (economically) dominate a fragmented China and Pacific Russia.

China is like the Arabs of the 70s and the Japanese of the 80s. They are not a real threat. They can’t maintain their economic pace forever. Unlike the 90s Japanese society whivh adapts and overcomes, the Chinese central government can only respond by being crazy strong or weak.

Aftet looking into the chinese leadership, it is clear most would benefit from a weak central government.

Also, nobody buys that communist revolution tripe anymore so they can’t fall back on that.

The last gasp of central government power will probably be an invasion of Taiwan.

The next 10 years are going to make the 60s look like the 50s.

Yoon sure has a big fat mouth.

Worse, his lack of action in protecting South Korean interests while bending over so willingly so that so-called South Korea’s “allies” is even worse.

The secret leaked docs by the US, now clearly show how Yoon has lied to the Korean public, claiming that the leaked documents were fake. Just as stated in the document, it’s confirmed that South Korea sent 350,000 rounds of artillery ammo to Ukraine for free, via Poland. South Korea also sold 500,000 rounds of ammo to the US, also probably sent to Ukraine – with full knowledge of the Korean government.

For what? And how does that help South Korea in any shape or form, other than making more enemies out of China and Russia? South Korea’s highly lucrative trade with those two countries imploded, along with the South Korean economy.

In return for all this, South Korea’s reward is America’s economic attacks against South Korea. Hundreds of billions of dollars of South Korean economic prosperity have evaporated into the US economy.

Just watch and mark my words, when both China and Russia slap South Korea silly with retaliations that are yet to come, the US, EU and the rest of them will all watch and egg the Chinese and Russians on. Sure, there will be some smatters of American/European support for South Korea, but that will just about be it. Instead, I bet my last dime, that both the US and EU will attack South Korea economically by putting more sanctions and restrictions on South Korea’s exports – kick em while they’re down. This is not something that hasn’t happened before. The US is already at it again, as yesterday they announced restrictions on South Korean steel (for having government-subsidized energy).

It’s really unfortunate that South Korea has all the stuff that the US, EU, and China want for themselves – chips, batteries, arms, ships, etc.
Because the country is under attack from all sides. With all the highly important strategic stuff that Korea makes, it should be the country dictating to the world, instead of the other way around. This is why I detest and loathe Yoon so much – because he’s giving away all of South Korea’s cards to its underserving “allies” for absolutely nothing in return. For instance, it is not a matter of Korean industries forcibly being set up in the US which is what makes me angry. It’s the fact that South Korea got absolutely nothing out of helping the US. It’s not a matter of secretly giving arms to Ukraine, but what makes me angry is that South Korea got absolutely nothing out of the Europeans.

The US has all the useless organizations like the G7, EU, NATO, AUKUS, and the QUAD to lean on to get their technology and military arms to fight for their own hegemony. WHY IS SOUTH KOREA ALWAYS THE ONE BEING LEANED ON TO COME UP WITH ALL THE IMPORTANT STUFF FOR THE US? AND RETURN FOR WHAT? MORE IRA BILLS?!!

Enough is enough!

If you don’t see the flaw in this statement, you aren’t engaged.

Russia threatening to turn South Korea into a fireball of war, and the US neocons like Victor Cha, demanding South Korea to give military aid to NATO?

Where the Fck is the G7? The QUAD? Where are your big-shot friends, Japan, Germany, or France? That you need military and economic help from SK in return for American economic hidden tariffs against SK?

Who’s kidding who? The Soviet Union armed the Kingdom of North Korea in 1945 and propped up the Kingdom until the 1990’s. They share a 35-mile border which can be used to supply weapons and food any time. Actually, the Republic of Korea would do well to keep as much armament as it can to deal with 3 real threats (North Korea, Red China and the Russian Empire), and one potential threat (Imperial Japan).

It’s doubtful the Chrysanthemum Crowd would attack South Korea. Unless Seoul throws in with Beijing.

Hmmm…

Let’s consider:

– North Korea: It is unclear how much of a threat they are. It appears thieir primary goal is to keep doing what they are doing. As long as that isn’t threatened and/or they get subsidized, they are zero threat.

– China: China is kind of a threat economically. It is unclear militarily. It would seem Taiwan would be a bigger prize. Doesn’t matter. China has all the problems coming that Japan had in the Lost Decade… times 5 or 10.

– Russia: Russia has its hands full trying to secure that big flat spot between Germany and Moscow. They have no interest in Korean adventures.

– Japan: Japan is going to take a big interest in the regional economies over the next 20 years. Some of this will be supported through militarization. The important concept is maintaining their access to natural resources… for those of you who remember WWII.

Let’s see what happens.

Japan has a rapidly aging population. Their young men are seemingly more ghey than the K-pop crowd. And they want to marry their favorite anime/manga/hentai characters. Their young women are pretty much not interested in the local boys, so they might be available for starting wars. At least the cartoons suggest it.

However, girls that look like preteens and furries probably only interest other trannies, so I’ll need to defer to any local experts.

The CCP and the Norkistanis are THE big threats militarily… to the local sea life… What they don’t suck out of the sea with their environmentally-destructive factory ships, they pollute with the land-based toxic wastes and plastic garbage. And they expend billions of dollars on missiles to kill even more fish.

Currently, Russia is just ridding itself of Chechans and the chronically-unemployed in revenge for Beslan. Sadly for Ukraine, their nazi fetish scared no one.

Medvedev is promoting a straw man argument. Any serious study of Russian “advanced weaponry” reaches this conclusion: the domestic engineering talent exists, and the advertising is great, but actual production and delivery are problematic and require significant foreign investment. Will North Korea fund the production of these advanced weapons?

Also, can Russia really afford to transfer advanced weapons to North Korea instead of using them to bolster their situation in Ukraine?

This article describes the Russian military R&D dilemma, especially the section on prioritizing perception:

Jax, you’re totally leaving out one thing.

Russian nuclear and bio-warfare experts dispatched to North Korea to coach them on developing missiles and weapons of mass destruction that can easily reach Washington and New York. Russia wouldn’t even have to spend a dime. They can just let the North Koreans pay for it all, which Pyeongyang will gladly do.

South Korea is in a unique but unfortunate position where it has to have peace (and it doesn’t always have to be friendly relations) with all the countries not just because of North Korea, but it also has to trade with everyone to keep up with its standard of living. South Korea doesn’t have any shale oil or unlimited money printing press backed by Gulf State oil. Without a strong economy to pay for all the R&D and imports, South Korea’s military will be weak. With the total collapse of South Korea’s exports to China, Russia, US, EU (who all are engaged in economic warfare against each other), things look bleak. What’s making it even worse is South Korea’s clueless ruling party leadership. I say the hell with all the US sanctions on every country. South Korea should just ignore and trade with Russia, sell all the products, and buy their energy, instead of importing US energy at 4 times the price. South Korea and Russia always had a great relationship since the Cold War ended in the 1990s. The US sanctions totally destroyed the goodwill between Korea and Russia. Look at India and Japan, QUAD members buying cheap Russian energy, ignoring US sanctions. Why shouldn’t Korea do the same? Yoon is the problem.

It was obvious from his writing style that Korean Man has been changed his nickname.

So I wonder why GI Korea has now decided to make this very obvious fact public?

It is also interesting to note that GI Korea is turning a blind eye to setnaffa using sockpuppets.

Which is obvious considering that he supports Yoon and the Korean right.

He might not say it but it is also obvious that he doesn’t like Koreans who oppose Yoon and his dumb policies and is secretly hoping that they do not post comments in his right wing blog.

It is also interesting to note that setnaffa is racist judging by his derogatory remarks about Japan in addition to his derogatory remarks about China.

I wonder how long it will be until he shows his true self and makes derogatory remarks about Koreans.

Or has he already?

Pretty dang sad when chinabots stop ragging on Japan to defend their sworn enema.

And they still, for all their words, never offer more than projection, deflection, and lame ad hominem.

Is there some place where we could request a better class of troll? I mean, Beijing is not sending their best and brightest…

Why can’t they be more like Taiwan, a place that still honors Chinese traditions and is friendly to everyone?

So in a way setnaffa doesn’t like Asians uniting under a common cause.

Interesting
