2. Korean Person, I hate to break it to you but there is no GI Korea. ROK Drop was converted to a non-profit organization years ago. Its original funding was generous and its expenses are low so its endowment grows every year.
The original GI Korea has been replaced by a board of directors which make an occasional post to manufacture a little controvery over THAAD or gun control when things become a bit quiet.

So, ROK Drop isn’t going away no matter how much the Chinabots want it to.
As befitting setnaffa, he turns the question of relevancy of the ROK Drop to a America vs China conflict.
A day in the ROK Drop usually involves patriotic Koreans going up against dimwitted and racist Southern Whites.
The Koreans here have the advantage of understanding and being well informed of the issues surrounding Korea unlike the Setnaffarians.
The Setnaffarians spit out irrelevant words that make them look like they are out of touch of reality in addition to making them racists.
So instead they bring in China to the picture to make it look like that they are relevant, know what they are saying and that they are fighting the Chinese.
But then we know that the Setnaffarians work for the Chinese, so the above obviously does not make sense and it is us Koreans who see through the BS propagated by the Setnaffarians.
If it is a situation of American whites spitting out BS about Korea and the Koreans defending Korean honor against these ignorant and irrelevant Whites, then it begs the question of whether the ROK Drop is relevant at all.

BTW, this could never have come from anyone in a communist country.
Here is what I saw. There are lessons here that should teach us or remind us… and make us better people with a higher survival rate.
Normalcy bias: People continued driving into the tunnel even though it was clearly flooding. People waited in their cars when they should have been running for the downstream exit.
Lack of predictive analytics: It should have been quickly clear that the tunnel would flood to the roof. It is the lowest spot in the area (below the river), this amount of water is not simple rain, there can be no rescue. It should have been clear how fast the water was rising and how that need to be managed.
Lollygagging: walking when running was an appropriate response… or at least using hands in conjunction with walking to speed up movement (hold your cellphone in your mouth). Sitting on a car instead of moving toward that bright light at the end.
Inability to swim: this is a reminder that swimming is a fundemental human skill… learn it as an adult and make sure your children are 100% comfortable in the water. My ability to swim has saved my life a couple of times and saved the life of two others. (A drowning mother will climb on her drowning daughter in a vision that sticks with me as an informative lesson rather than a traumatic image).
Dumbass drivers: slowing and stopping instead of realizing the need to exit the situation as fast as possible (reminded of a guy who hit the brakes when an IED went off instead of getting out of the area at top speed). A bus driver responsible for a load of people should put it in granddaddy low and clear the pathway of crap drivers slowing to a crawl while thinking… thinking… thinking to wait out the water?
In the end, it is generally better to address abnormal situations you dont understand by running away from them as quickly as possible and being called a scaredy-cat than sticking around and being called a chilling statistic.
Three heads of state travel to Camp David … and agree to open a hotline.
An email among low level staffers could have accomplished the same thing.

This supposed new cooperation between U-K-J: does this mean the US will stop the discriminating treatment of South Korea? South Korea by far had the largest manufacturing Foreign Direct Investment in the US last year, outstripping all of the EU combined. South Korea is playing the most critical role in helping the US with boosting chips and batteries to contain China. Isn’t it time the US gives South Korea the same equal treatment that the US gives the EU and Japan? Let’s start with US’s refusal to give South Korea an unlimited currency swap that the US gives to EU and Japan.

Isn’t it time the US gives South Korea the same equal treatment that the US gives the EU and Japan.
You don’t have a clue what you’re talking about or asking for.
Uh, sure… guess it’s time to call up State Department to let them know it’s time to flood South Korea with millions of Islamic refugees and Africans. Oh, I almost forgot, how about some Ukrainian refugees too, and don’t forget supplying F-16s and tanks to the AFU as well!
Anyone have Soros on line? We have to let him know it’s time to increase budgeting in South Korea. Time for some of that open society money funding naked angry feminists running through the streets screaming for “equal rights.” There’s a distinct lack of BLM/Antifa/feminist/LGBTQIAA++++ activity in Korea, time to change that. Should be easy now that Soros is cutting operations in Europe.
I don’t want to get into the proverbial weeds, but overall, South Korea is treated far better than America’s Western allies.
As for Japan… I forget where I read it, but shortly after 1945 American communists were utilized by the American occupation government to rewrite Japanese history and laws (I’ll have to dig up my old books on this for the details). They castrated Japan spiritually as well as militarily much to the chagrin of traditionalists like Mishima. It was a deeply traumatic experience, but in all fairness, the Japanese were kinda asking for it. Now if one is advocating equal treatment to the Japanese, I guess you’ll be happy to have Korea’s constitution rewritten by State Department.

It is well know that the US has no qualms about giving Japan access to the latest military technologies, while having second thoughts about providing South Korea access to the latest US military technologies.
In the case of the F-35, Japan is allowed to do depot maintenance to its F-35s while South Korea is not allowed to.
The US also lets Japan keep a stockpile of plutonium while not allowing Korea to reprocess its nuclear fuel waste.
This doesn’t look like equal treatment.
However, the Setnaffarians want to keep the status quo.
Why is that?
Ah yes, setnaffa works for Russia and ultimately the Chinese, it is in their interests to keep Korea weak and to spread anti-US feelings so that there is no threat to Russia and China from the free world.

Instead of expressing condolences which any normal person will do, the Setnaffarians express anger at the victims for well being the victims and giving critics of Yoon the ammunition to undercut him.
But Yoon at the same time brought this onto himself by appointing incompetent underlings to government positions they cannot handle.
It is also interesting to note that despite statements of “it’s not about Yoon”, the Setnaffarians are interested in seeing Yoon remain in power as long as possible because he’s obviously giving the Setnaffarians what they want in regards to mental comfort.

Check out this article which gives a summary of what the occupation government (GHQ), staffed by State Department and FDR administrators, did to Japan.
-They freed thousands of communists and legalized the Japanese Communist Party. Some of whom would participate in various GHQ committees that drafted the new constitution.
-The JCP would then go on to dominate Japan’s education system due to the American Trade Union Law of December 1945.
-GHQ also created the Science Council of Japan for the purpose of preventing/impeding R&D that could have beneficial security purposes. The council is well known for Chinese Communist connections.
While it can be argued the article is from a “pro-Japanese” website, the basic facts are easily verifiable.
Not covered in the article is the communist insurrection in Japan during the period of 1950-1970. Shocking I say! Surely it has nothing to do with GHQ’s policies! During the Cold War, one hand (State Department) of the American Empire spawned communism, yet the other hand (DOD) was tasked with containing communism. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Op1kSWOCCs
There were fears of a revolution and the Japanese government went so far as secretly training paramilitary forces for the possibility. Mishima’s Tatenokai was one of them. A decision that had it’s own blowback in the form of an attempted coup, though arguably it was more political performance.

It is well know that the US has no qualms about giving Japan access to the latest military technologies
The US actively undermined domestic Japanese military R&D via the Science Council of Japan created in 1949. One of the purposes of the council was to oppose scientific research for military purposes. The US gave Japan access to American military technologies with the understanding that Japan would not be a major defense industry competitor. This is unlike South Korea which is shaping up to be one of the world’s largest arms exporters.
I suppose if you want equal treatment to the Japanese, you’d also be fine with having America establish a Korean Science Council that would partly disband the indigenous defense industry.

Nobody here is working for China or Russia
Then why all the accusations of “Chinabots” here?
Anyway, here are some things the US can do to give fair treatment to South Korea, as they give the same treatment to other US allies like EU, Japan, and Israel.
Allow S.Korea to reprocess their own nuclear waste.
End the restrictions on South Korea’s missile systems.
Allow S.Korea to develop its own nuclear-powered subs.
Grant S.Korea an unlimited line of currency swaps to stabilize Korea’s constantly volatile currency exchange, especially at this time when Korea has towed the US lines against China (which in turn has hurt South Korea’s economy and currency value due to the fact that China is South Korea’s 20% of exports).
These are not unreasonable demands nor even favorable treatments. These are the same treatments given to other key European, Japanese, and Israeli allies that South Korea doesn’t get for some ungodly reason that none of the Americans here can explain.

I believe I expressed it more eloquently than that.
But did you watch the video?
Drivers entered a clearly flooding tunnel and then stopped and waited for… it to drain? Rescue?
Let’s be honest here. This is not intelligent behavior.
I understand why it happened.
Normalcy bias (nothing dangerous ever happens), over-reliance on government to solve problems (if it was a problem, it would be blocked), inattention (can I finish a bottle of soju before my favorite drama ends?), 8282 (I certainly don’t want to drive the long way).
Is that an excuse?
Maybe. I narrowly avoided death brought on by inattention once. That was a real lesson. Had I been a little less lucky, people would be saying the same thing about me. “What was he thinking? Why didn’t he…”
If you disagree, feel free to explain why their action was correct and why the results would have been worse if they had done things differently.
But respond carefully, lest you remind me of the report of Colin Powell’s death where they said, with a straight face, how it would have been worse if he hadn’t been vaccinated.

Then why all the accusations of “Chinabots” here?
It is obvious that the Setnaffarians have no idea and understanding of the issues regarding Korea.
Korea according to them is still under the dictatorship of Park Chunghee and Chun Doo Hwan and to them Koreans are docile robots that do what the President tells them to do, dare not criticize the President, and accept wholeheartedly the USFK.
So to them it is incomprehensible that Koreans are criticizing Yoon, impeaching Park, and voting in the DPK.
But since their limited minds cannot process this new reality, it is easier to turn to a simple explanation that “Oh those who criticize Yoon must be Chinese”.
The other dynamic is that the Setnaffarians are working for the Russians and ultimately the Chinese.
They want to hide the fact that they are weakening Korea and what better way than to project this onto the patriotic Koreans thus trying to discrediting us.
However at the end of the day, the trip and fall because of their failure to grasp and understanding issues regarding Korea. That and their obvious pro-Russian and Chinese stances.

These are the same treatments given to other key European, Japanese, and Israeli allies that South Korea doesn’t get for some ungodly reason that none of the Americans here can explain.
As soon as you start reprocessing fuel, you start getting large amounts of plutonium, which isn’t economical as a fuel source and further complicates waste disposal. It is very useful for making bombs though. Giving consent to reprocessing is de facto consent to bomb making capacity. In theory, plutonium could be economical as a fuel in fast-neutron reactors, but no reactors have yet proven reliable. As a reminder, South Korea in a joint 1992 declaration with North Korea promised to not develop reprocessing capability, a stance the South has been happy to uphold, so resistance to South Korean reprocessing also comes from internal politics.
Now that this is established, let’s point out you are lumping Europe and Israel together with Japan is conflating the history. There were drastically different circumstances pertaining to their reprocessing.
Japan is the only non nuclear weapon state that reprocesses fuel. They were the only ones “granted” the right to reprocess. This occurred during the Carter administration during the oil shock. They managed to fool the Americans into thinking plutonium reactors would solve the energy crisis. For reasons stated prior, it did not.
European nuclear reprocessing states got into the nuclear club before American anti-nuclear proliferation efforts. They weren’t granted anything by the Americans, but today they certainly are being “granted” American guidance on green energy and dismantlement.
Israel went fully nuclear without admitting it went nuclear. Due to the sensitivity of the regional politics, they weren’t persecuted for it. Again, the Americans did not grant them anythings like it did for Japan. They simply went for it. South Korea could likely do the same (hint hint wink wink) but it doesn’t because the internal political will isn’t there.
Points 2 and 3 extend from the nuclear reprocessing issue and are not interesting to cover in depth, but suffice to say, Russia and China would not appreciate so expect economic reprisals among other things.
Point 4… why they hell do you want to further tie the Won to the Dollar!? Unlimited line of currency swaps would not increase stability, it would off shore American inflation. The current volatility is due to global supply chain fuck up and can’t be fixed by paper.

Didn’t setnaffa vehemently oppose Korea having access to plutonium but didn’t oppose Japan having access to it?
Because GrayBlack is saying pretty much the same thing.
Another evidence that GrayBlack is another of setnaffa’s sockpuppet.
And how can the Setnaffarians say that the US treats Japan and Korea equally, when even the Setnaffarians themselves believe in more favorable treatment for Japan.
No doubt, being Russian and Chinese agents, they don’t want Korea to be strong.
As a side benefit, resentment against the US by Koreans for holding them back will benefit setnaffa’s Russian and Chinese masters since it will help drive a wedge between the alliance.
In reality, it’s the Setnaffarians who are doing things harmful for Korea while driving a wedge between the ROK-US alliance.

GrayBlack is saying pretty much the same thing.
I’m being very patient with you explaining the history. If you’d stop strawmanning for a second, you might learn a thing or two.
As I point out, what happened with Japan isn’t what happened with Europe which is also not what happened with Israel. The circumstances surrounding reprocessing differ from South Korea. The US did not “grant” the right to reprocess to Europeans or Israel. The former joined the nuclear club before the door shut and the later utilized geopolitical leverage to unofficially go full nuclear. The only country “granted” reprocessing capability was Japan which made an awfully well timed lobby during the oil shock. I also point out that the US has been trying to stuff the genie back into the lamp in the case of Europe.
Furthermore, I point out South Korea could probably do what Israel did and get away with it, but don’t be surprised at the geopolitical implications that would draw both Chinese and Russian ire. I also point out that South Korea’s own internal politics is preventing that scenario. The 1992 declaration is merely a hint, the SK political establishment, on both left and right, isn’t willing to drop the from the list of NPT signatories for various reasons.
Whether or not South Korea starts reprocessing is really up to themselves. They already have all the technology to do so and the US would likely turn a blind eye, but it’s clear there would be no economical reason to reprocess. The only practical use of plutonium being bombs. As of now, the production of plutonium (and long range rockets with nuclear subs) would set off alarm bells in Beijing and Moscow more than in Washington or Tokyo.
GrayBlack

The biggest liability to Biden is… Biden.
If you wish to be critical of Yoon, fine. But take it seriously.
This is an example of the article not being serious:
“Last July, a U.S. strategic nuclear ballistic missile submarine arrived in South Korea as a show of force against increasing military threats from North Korea. Yoon’s visit to this submarine was intended to convey solidarity with Biden. Instead, it frustrated many Koreans because it looked like a personal tour for Yoon and his wife.
Koreans questioned why they could not also receive such tours since Yoon and his wife were allegedly aboard the stealth ship for pleasure rather than official business. Koreans also wondered how the submarine could be deemed “stealthy” if Yoon let the North know exactly when and where it was docked.”
Not a single Korean I know asked why they couldn’t get a stealth submarine tour. Not one.

A hotline? Did we timewarp back to 1968?
Interesting. If you are pro Joe and Kammy … you are an anti-Xi.
President Joe Biden’s summit with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol at Camp David was meant to serve as a show of force as the countries grapple with persistent provocative behavior from North Korea and with China’s military and economic aggressions.
Biden’s call for ‘new era of cooperation’ with Japan and South Korea likely to ramp up tensions with Beijing

P3do Joey Puddingpants is not doing anything without Beijing’s permission.
“Biden’s call for ‘new era of cooperation’ with Japan and South Korea likely to ramp up tensions with Beijing”
Let’s hope this cooperation isn’t the same level of cooperation that sees Ukraine being supplied with just enough weapons and support to prolong the war and slowly destroy the country, but never enough to break through Russia’s pre-defensive line.
Somehow, with the historic floods showing Xi has lost “The Mandate of Heaven”, I think China may be replacing him faster than Russia replaces Putin, who at least hasn’t bored everyone with reading his worthless books of nonsense…
Xi should keep a food taster handy…
This supposed new cooperation between U-K-J: does this mean the US will stop the discriminating treatment of South Korea? South Korea by far had the largest manufacturing Foreign Direct Investment in the US last year, outstripping all of the EU combined. South Korea is playing the most critical role in helping the US with boosting chips and batteries to contain China. Isn’t it time the US gives South Korea the same equal treatment that the US gives the EU and Japan? Let’s start with US’s refusal to give South Korea an unlimited currency swap that the US gives to EU and Japan.
hyw
Thank you GrayBlack for bringing the receipts about our paralyzed-from-the-neck-up chinabots and their ridiculous demands for things they don’t wa t or even understand.
Equal treatment to Japan, eh?
So Ulsan and Pusan need a bit of the old Oppenheimer Treatment to satisfy the thirst for equality?
Noted.
1. The best way to detetmine what the left is up to is simply to observe what they accuse others of doing.
Sadly, incels in CCP prison camps can’t understand individuality not being handed to them on their daily talking points memo and sanitary napkin.
It is true that you can determine what setnaffa and his sockpuppets are up to by simply observing them accusing us Koreans of being “chinabots.”
Dumbass drivers:
More deragotary remarks about the victims of the tunnel tragedy by the Setnaffarians.

There were fears of a revolution and the Japanese government went so far as secretly training paramilitary forces for the possibility. Mishima’s Tatenokai was one of them. A decision that had it’s own blowback in the form of an attempted coup, though arguably it was more political performance.
Silly Korea Person,
We know the left accuses those of doing what they do.
Nobody here is working for China or Russia.
You know that, and so does everyone else. Your accusations are hollow to the point of ridicule.
Your hate for America, Japan, and Korea is obvious, and your attempts to drive a wedge between any cooperation against China is obvious too.
It is unclear who your audience is.
Nobody here has any control over these policies. You would have equal influence going out and yelling at the polluted Chinese sky.
What you claim to be evil redneck plots against Asia is actually apathy. Nobody here cares about these issues because the current situation is working. Why change it?
Successive Korean administrations have felt the same way, so they make no real effort to change anything.
But keep going.
You are very good at prompting a discussion of the issues based on logic and reason, even if it contradicts the emotional and agenda-driven message you want to push.
Your handlers should be embarassed at your counter-productivity.
Then why all the accusations of “Chinabots” here?
Anyway, here are some things the US can do to give fair treatment to South Korea, as they give the same treatment to other US allies like EU, Japan, and Israel.
These are not unreasonable demands nor even favorable treatments. These are the same treatments given to other key European, Japanese, and Israeli allies that South Korea doesn’t get for some ungodly reason that none of the Americans here can explain.
“Dumbass drivers:
More deragotary remarks about the victims of the tunnel tragedy by the Setnaffarians.”
There are accusations of Chinabot because you act like a Chinabot.
– you seek to drive a wedge in any anti-China alliance
– you promote policies that damage Korea
Of course you could be a lost Korean-American seeking identity from an imaginary Korea that doesn’t really exist while being influenced by destructive leftist and Chinese Confucius Center agendas.
Whatever the case, it is good to hear you whine… especially with the knowledge that your whining will change nothing… except perhaps push some smart people far away from your ideas.
– you seek to drive a wedge in any anti-China alliance
– you promote policies that damage Korea
I believe setnaffa’s sockpuppet described setnaffa. 😀
For the record, I’m blasé about Japan or South Korea having reprocessing capability under present circumstances. The US has more important issues to deal with. Just don’t be surprised if South Korea is locked out of the Chinese/Russian markets for critical raw materials.
“If you’d stop strawmanning for a second, you might learn a thing or two.”
He is here to strawman, not to learn.
But your information is not wasted. I am learning.
This makes perfect sense and fits into my understanding of history.
I agree. This is a non-issue for Korea. There is zero gain and it is bad neighborly politics.
Besides, South Korea is outsourcing its offensive nuke and missile capabilities to North Korea.
At some point, North Korea will collapse and South Korea will be there to safeguard their nuclear technology.
That is going to be an interesting time for those who are brave.
Just don’t be surprised if South Korea is locked out of the Chinese/Russian markets for critical raw materials.
Ah yes.
A threat from the Russianbot.
Indisputable proof that setnaffa is working for the Russians and ultimately the Chinese.
No doubt he is using his sockpuppets to amplify his message.
If you play in traffic, don’t be surprised if you get hit.
A threat like that is indisputable proof that I am working for the cars.
China’s biggest threat aimed toward the USA and Taiwan:

BTW, whatever happened to the bikini bike couple?
I am told that if you criticize President Yoon, you’re a commie who wishes bad will on South Korea. But here’s another Korean, writing for “The Hill”, who writes Yoon is hurting the US alliance – by being an incompetent idiot who can’t do anything right, and whose only interest is far-right politics.
https://thehill.com/opinion/national-security/4158145-south-koreas-yoon-will-be-the-weakest-link-in-the-next-korean-war/
I guess this author is a commie too – part of the 77% of Koreans who do not approve of Yoon’s performance so far.
Chinabot thinks The Hill is anything even but liberal?
Poor silly chinabot. We really do pity you.
Only China cares about Yoon. And only because he’s not a puppet of Beijing.
The rest of us recognize South Koreans have a right to elect whom they want.
Even Moon. We complained about moonpie because he was destroying the South Korean econonmy and that hurt our friends.
But a careful and truthful examination of what we wrote would uncover the fact that we agreed he was South Korea’s self-inflicted disaster, not ours.
Yoon has his own path to walk. We’ll see where it takes him.
I read the opinion piece in The Hill.
It worked hard to find little things to criticize.
While it was filled with petty dumbness, this almost made me laugh.
“Kishida will be the right ally to help Biden counter Kim, but Yoon is likely to be a liability for Biden.”
Not one.
setnaffa, you missed your chemo treatment again, please contact my office to arrange an appointment before the big tumor on your neck grows bigger. Thanks.
I am curious what the difference is between “official business” and a “personal tour” when you are a president inspecting a submarine.
I presume official business involves questions like, “So what does that dial do?”
A personal tour is more like, “Cool sub you got here. So can I wear the captain’s hat? Torpedos away! Pew pew pew! I hear you let women on these babies. They going to give us a show? Or do you let them touch stuff not involved in cooking and cleaning? Can I scratch my name on the wall with a key? I gotta take a crap. Where is the officers’ crapper? Is it true what they say about situational homosexuality after a year underwater? Can we take this thing for a spin? I want to come up out of the water like a dolphin. Maybe we can sink a Japanese fishing boat. My wife says you need brighter colors and fresh flowers. I know a guy who sells flowers. This tour is great! I hope you let all Koreans take a tour like this. It would really help me in the polls, especially with the incel and momma’s boys demographic. So what does that dial do?”
The chinabots continue to make me laugh! They are obviously from a country where doctors don’t really know how to use the right chemo.
I recommend they send folks to MD Anderson for training.
While they’re pathetic and amusing, I dreadto think what sort of sewage-oil-based “medicine” they’re calling “chemo” in Xinjiang…
Or do they just feed them piss-eggs?
Look it up. That’s a real Chinese medicine under the CCP…
Thought this was funny enough to share. LOL
Prigozhin didn’t kill himself.
For the ever so fragile chinabots who don’t actually understand medicine, America, or sarcasm, I offer this delicacy:
