Impeached President Yoon Detained by the CIO for Questioning Over Martial Law Decree

The Korean left got the further humiliation of impeached President Yoon they wanted. I think this whole CIO investigation is being used to humiliate Yoon and making him look guilty to influence the Constitutional Court. The court will eventually rule to determine if Yoon’s martial law decree was Constitutional or not:

President Yoon Suk Yeol was detained, Wednesday, for questioning over his botched imposition of martial law, becoming the first sitting Korean president to be taken into custody.

The investigators are required to decide within 48 hours whether to file a formal arrest warrant to continue questioning him under custody or release him.

Investigators from the Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials (CIO) and the police arrived at the presidential residence compound in Hannam-dong, central Seoul, at around 4:30 a.m. More than 3,000 police officers were mobilized to execute the warrant to detain him and maintain public order around the area.

Following a standoff with Presidential Security Service (PSS) personnel that lasted about two and a half hours, investigators managed to move forward by passing through three layers of makeshift barricades set up by the PSS, consisting of rows of guards and buses. To get past, the investigators had to climb over the buses using ladders.

The investigators then reached the nearest guard post to the residence. Several of them were allowed to pass, with presidential chief of staff Chung Jin-suk and Yoon’s lawyer Yoon Kap-keun, granting permission for them to proceed.

At 10:33 a.m., the CIO said they executed the warrant. The detention came 43 days after Yoon declared martial law.

Korea Times

You can read more at the link, but Yoon released a statement saying he believes the CIO has no jurisdiction for insurrection cases, but agreed to be detained to avoid violence.

In a blow to the far right crowd, including GI Korea who advocates for a Yoon-backed military rule in Korea, impeached PM, Han Duk-Soo apologized for the Marshall Law.

I think this whole CIO investigation is being used to humiliate Yoon and making him look guilty to influence the Constitutional Court.

It has nothing to do with attempting to humiliate. Yoon was given plenty of chances – three chances in a whole month, to voluntarily attend the summons and cooperate with the investigation. He failed to attend any of them. Thus why he’s getting arrested. The DPK party never told him to behave the way he behaved. Nor did the DPK party told Yoon to attempt to take over the country with a purpose of becoming a life time dictator by killing off the opposition. So stop the blame game, GI Korea.

We can even argue that Yoon was even given favorable treatment when he was not immediately arrested and confined for a serious crime like treason, encouraging insurrection, and abuse of power as the President. A normal Korean who committed a far less serious crime like Yoon’s charges, would have been arrested for non-cooperation with the investigation after failing to show up for one summon – and certainly not three summons.

Like I said, South Korea is not the same as the United States where Trump will never be arrested nor serve any time, even if he murders people live on TV.

So go f*ck yourself.

With every action to create the optics that support their agenda, the left exposes its true self.

But they live in a bubble apart from reality.

They think that by treating Yoon as a lowly criminal before there has even been a decision on the existence of a crime, they can influence that decision. And they can make him a criminal in the mind of the public by embarassing him.

The Korean globalist left has learned many dirty tricks from the American globalist left but they didn’t learn why they failed.

Exhibit A: President Trump 2: Electric Boogaloo

Yoon’s martial law was a government-on-government action rather than a government-on-people action. And with every sensational act that puts the best intetests of Korea in last place, Koreans start to understand why it was done.

An extreme example of this dynamic would be, “Trump is a racist bigot phobe becasue he wants to take away the rights of transsexuals.”

That is a statement of fact to the left.

What the average person sees is, “Trump wants to ban mentally ill or predatorial men in dresses from going into bathrooms with little girls.”

Electric Boogaloo.

The Korean left is falling into this same trap, as demonstrated by Yoon’s rising popularity ratings.

They are deathly afraid Yoon’s actions will not be found criminal.

“Trump is a racist bigot phobe becasue he wants to take away the rights of transsexuals.”

He has a Chinabot as the second in command, the acting President Musk

The Korean globalist left has learned many dirty tricks from the American globalist left but they didn’t learn why they failed.

Acting President Musk works closely with CCP.

Remember, Musk said he needs Indian engineers to replace American engineers who are too dumb, and Trump agreed with him. That’s a text book globalism 2.0.

That’s a text book globalism 2.0.

Capitalism (money talks, bullshít walks) is a terrible system that is better than all the others. But when coupled with Free Enterprise (leave me alone to make money on a level playing field), it is by far the best.

When the government takes away free enterprise and creates an unlevel playing field for the large capitalists, it becomes the terrible system of Crony Capitalism.

Then the leftists point to it, yell “capitalism failed”, and demand something similar to communism… which quickly devolves into cronyism… but without the capital.

Globalism works in a similar way.

Improving your country by bringing in smart and capable people is not the same as allowing yourself to be flooded by worthless people going directly to the welfare rolls and prisons.

Allowing foreign companies to enter your market so your domestic companies can learn how to compete on a global scale (wink to China) is not the same as artificial barriers on small domestic companies that keep them from competing with the multinationals that are influencing politicians to keep it that way.

Encouraging free trade has a lot of benefits in competition, advancement, and quality of life. But when one side manipulates their currency and erects many non-tariff trade bariers, it is not equally beneficial.

When multinational corporations provide excellent goods and services at low prices due to economy of scale and other efficiency optimizations, it is fantastic. When large companies use their position to drive out competition, crush innovation, raise prices, and pay increasingly low wages, it is not so fantastic.

When globalism introduces you to different cultures and allows you to cherrypick their best points and “appropriate” them as your own, this is advancement. When you are forced to accept the worst parts of a culture by those who fled the worst parts of their cuture, and get called a racist for objecting, this is to intentionally keep you from advancing.

This list keeps going.

“Globalization” is not necessarily a bad thing. In fact, it is the future… one way or another.

But the purpose of much of the globalization now is to institute a corporate neofeudalism where maximum labor is extracted with minimum compensation amid a lowest-common-denominator global monoculture.

That is what people need to be aware of and bring loud attention to when they see it.

So Globalism is OK, as long as it’s done by American billionaires. An American President that slaps 25% tariffs on their friends, but at the same time helping China to strengthen their economy and technology is perfectly fine as long as the rich Americans make the money. Just don’t let anyone else do it because that kind of Globalism is not OK.

The double standard is just ludicrous.

For the Setnaffarians. anyone associated with the right and Trump himself is OK to do business with other countries esp. China.

For those who are associated with the left and Democrats, it is a sin to do business with other countries esp. China.

The Setnaffarians have constantly shown hypocrisy and double standards, which seems to be a common trait of right wingers.

Back to the main subject.

It is obvious that is attempting to spread fake news and misinformation.

The current head of the CIO was selected and appointed by Yoon, and is a former judge who graduated from the same law school as Yoon

So how can he be influenced by the Korean left in terms of having Yoon arrested?

As for the Constitutional Court, they are looking at the constitutionality of Yoon’s recent actions.

The judges may be aware of recent developments, but to them it is a seperate matter.

should get his facts straight and stop trying to spread fake news and misinformation.

So Globalism is OK, as long as it’s done by American billionaires

I said no such thing. Please quote me exactly when making fresh statements claiming to be based off my thought.

The rest of your comment on the topic was equal garbage.

For those interested in globalism, consider the U.S.-led global order after World War II brought economic growth, alliances, and peace, preventing a third world war and contributing to the collapse of the Soviet Union. America prospered. It can be argued this happened off the labor of other countries, such as South Korea. The response would be that the countries which worked hard, worked smart, snd cooperated with America benefitted greatly.

After the Cold War, in a world with no ideological enemy, the globalist elites started pushing a “liberal world order” that dismissed national identity and prioritized global unity. This started undermining America’s national interest. But it furthered the interests of the multinationals who saw “global unity” as a way to transfer wealth from the first world middle class to cheap labor while getting a large share of that.

This explanation is a horrible oversimplification, as those who full under globalists, ruling elite, deep state, etc., fight each other constantly. They only band together when threatened by those not belonging to the In Crowd.

Because a stable, unified, and prosperous America makes many aspects of globalism harder, there has been a very intentional effort to destroy America and its middle class.

A few of many examples:

Lopsided trade deals, designed to transfer money and industry out of America has hurt the middle class and destroyed America’s strategic industies.

Mass migration of no-skill and culturally incompatible people has societal and financial instability.

The weaponization of American justice, the manipulation of media and social media, and the suppression of domestic political opposition has increased while police are defunded, crimes go unpunished, services and infrastructure collapse, etc.

The Trump administration seems to be aware of this and is looking to put America first.

Does it make America safer?
Does it make America stronger?
Does it make America more prosperous?

Because it is impossible to completely disconnect from the last 30 years of history in a short time, there will be many cases where it is not possible. The low-wits will point and screech at every outlier without observing the general trend.

Let’s see what happens.

Whatever happens, the screechers are gonna screech.

Let’s laugh at them.
