KF-16 Pilots Reportedly Entered the Wrong Coordinates Before Accidental Bombing Strike on South Korean Village
|The ROK Air Force is very luck no one was killed in this accidental bombing strike because this could have been far more tragic:

The number of houses damaged in last week’s accidental bombing of a northern village has grown from 58 to 142 following a second survey, the local government said Sunday.
The village in Pocheon, some 40 kilometers north of Seoul, suffered large-scale damage after two KF-16 fighter jets “abnormally” dropped eight MK-82 bombs outside a training range during live-fire drills on Thursday.
Initially, 58 houses were reported damaged, but the number grew to 99 as of Saturday morning, and following a second survey, grew further to 142, according to the Pocheon municipal government.
Twenty-two households have evacuated their homes, while another nine households have returned following partial restoration work.
The number of injured civilians has also increased by two to 19.

Initial investigations found the pilot of one of the KF-16s entered wrong coordinates for a bombing site. Officials said the pilots of two KF-16s had more than 200-400 hours of flying time. Lee said they likely piloted KF-16s only two to three years.
You can read more at the link, but these pilots did not have a lot of flight hours which I would not be surprised contributed to this accident.
Yeah, that’s a low flight time/novice type of mistake, would think the flight pair lead would have a little more experience than 200 – 400 hours though article doesn’t break down total time vs time in type.
So the pilot was inexperienced with around 400 hours and made a rookie mistake but the woman who flew her helicopter in front of a passenger jet with less than 500 hours was experienced so it was everything but her fault.
To help non-pilots understand, what is the ability expectation of pilots with 400-500 hours?

There were statements of fact and a question to help evaluate those facts correctly.
It is too bad you can only understand the world in relation to artificial social constructs such as race and gender.

We called them “co-pilots” and they were still typically in training with both an experienced aircraft commander and an instructor pilot on board. Training missions for the BUFF were 11 to 14 hours. At 400 hours, we expected them to be able to make it safely downstairs to the urinal and back to their seat with minimal assistance.
On the subject of DEI, I can’t help but notice that the MAGA crowd likes to hire mini-skirt wearing air-headed blondes to major positions.
In other words, the MAGA claim that they hire based on merit is all BS.
The MAGA are fans of DEI as long as they can hire mini-skirt wearing air-headed blondes under the DEI initiative.
I have visited some bombing ranges in my Air Force career. One person who is always at the range is the Range Control Officer. He is responsible for SAFE delivery of ordnance on targets in the bombing/gunnery range. Questions: what protocol was followed to clear the flight into the range? Did the pilots check in on arrival at the range? Did the Range Control Officer brief or confirm what targets were available or restricted on that day? No accusation intended or blame assigned; I would just like to think the Accident Investigaton Board is asking these questions.
