Sierra Club executive director John Bennett is planning to be among hundreds of Canadians converging in New York City to join the Peoples’ Climate March on Sunday. With over 100,000 people expected to take their slogans to the streets and coordinated rallies in cities from around the world, it’s said to be the biggest climate rally in history.
“I’m done waiting. Twenty-five years of waiting is enough,” Bennett commented in a news release. “We need action now!”
Vancouver-based photographer and filmmaker Zack Embree went to New York to express both the urgency for policies to address climate change and to capture the moment through his lens.
“There’s a huge conversion of people here in New York City,” Embree told the Vancouver Observer today while making his way to Manhattan by public transit. “People are taking part in a huge march from all over the world here to make a statement that we really need concrete action right now on climate change….It’s a historic moment.”

Not Sorry: Actress Daniele Watts Won’t Apologize for Racism Claim
An actress who was detained by Los Angeles police is refusing to apologize for claiming race played a role in the incident, despite calls from local civil rights leaders.
Earl Ofari Hutchinson, who initially rallied behind the actress, said she “cried wolf” in this instance. “I was one that was very outspoken about it,” he told reporters. “We take racial profiling very seriously. It’s not a play thing. It’s not trivial.”

Ah, this is the UN climate summit that so few important heads of state are attending… including Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper.
This is just another insulting carbon-belching circle jerk vacation for the hypocritical elites in this age of Skype and virtual reality teleconferencing… and is pretty pointless since they get to meet all over again soon in beautiful Paris to find new ways to transfer wealth from those who work hard for it to those who work smart.
The sad-sack drones who go there by public transportation (or not) don’t even question the carbon-intensive first class travel/living/meal arrangements of the delegates.
Besides, Tbone, you are the last person who should be bringing up climate change as almost everything you huff creates a greenhouse gas…

Asia, now 4.4 billion, is projected to peak at around five billion people in 2050 and then begin to decline. Populations in North America, Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean are projected to each stay below one billion.

If the world would stop sending perpetual aid to artificially influence the population level which the environment will sustain, many of the problems with hunger and disease could be solved in Africa as the number of people and the environment reach equilibrium.

The Michael Brown memorial burned down… probably due to one of the many candles within the collection of flammable items.
Credit must be given to the neighborhood, in this case, though. Community leaders spoke a message of peace and thanked emergency services for promptly putting out the fire. Then they led the crowd in community-building songs and chants as they cheerfully worked together to clean up the mess. They rebuilt the Michael Brown memorial even better than it had been before.

There was an article a few weeks ago where some Kurdish female fighters said that muslim extremists believe if they are killed by a female they can’t go to their heaven. No 72 virgins for them 🙁 .

Eric Holder hated by GOP so they can rest much easier now since he announced his retirement and of course he said he’d stay on until a new Attorney General is selected/voted in. The GOP just might vote anyone in(maybe not a black or white female though) as long as he/she ain’t black just to get the black man out the door sooner.
