Well, not yet. And South Korea hasn’t excuted anyone in a while, so Captain Lee Joon-Seok may not have a date with Old Sparky for some time.

Anything else on the rest of the owner’s company? It’s not like this was a one man show.

Tbone’s mental vomit: “NRA fights for dog and cat eating”

Actual article: NRA fights against attachment that made pigeon shoots illegal.

It must be difficult to go through life with such low reading comprehension skills.

tbonetylr
tbonetylr

Sure CH the NRA cares about animals, or dogs and cats. You can tell here…

[Pigeon shoots are not a genteel sport, despite the NRA’s deceptive description of the shoots as ‘ethical’ and part of a sportsman’s heritage.

In a single shoot, sometimes thousands of pigeons die, often in a horrific manner as described by Addicting Info.

{The pigeons are stuffed into a tub and fired outward. The force of the launch typically severely injures the bird so that even when the shooter, standing a few feet away, misses the bird, the injured creature falls to the earth and slowly dies. In some cases, people — typically teenagers — are paid to wander around the field looking for still-living birds and break their necks. In other cases, the birds are left to suffer in the field until they die of their injuries. It’s incredibly cruel and nearly every animal rights group in the world has condemned the practice.}

Yet since it is a gun sport, the NRA went on overdrive, lobbying the Senate Republicans who promptly squashed the bill, keeping dog meat legal in Pennsylvania, at least for the time being.]

I just wonder who these people are in Pennsylvania, I’d bet S. Koreans are the owners & operators of these underground puppy&pussy butcher shops…

“While many crazy Americans pamper dogs and lavish on them human love and affection, in some parts of the world dogs are a source of meat.

Yet, even here in the States, a minority of people consider dogs fine dining, leading to an underground canine meat trade, sourced by cruel and often filthy puppy mills uncovered by an SPCA investigation.

After learning dogs were being butchered for food in Pennsylvania, however, one lawmaker tried to draft a bill to stop the dog slaughterhouses and kennels in the state.”

Tbone, the easily-disprovable point that you were pushing was, “NRA fights for dog and cat eating”.

There was no mention of birds.

Stop self-medicating with spray paint and bunk weed… and take you ADD medicine.

Soooo,,, now we have proven you to be full of Teadrinkerariean-style shyt on your original point, let’s look at some of your new points.

“Sure CH the NRA cares about animals, or dogs and cats.”

Of course they are NRA rather than PETA… so their function as an association is to protect gun ownership from those who constantly seek any form of emotional weakness to chisel away at those fundamental rights.

While mission creep is popular these days, as NASA chases climate change and MTV seldom plays music, it is actually a pleasure to see the NRA fight limitations on firearms even when faced with the innocent stares of watery-eyed puppies and kittens.

On the other hand, there is a great deal of cross-over between gun owner and dog lover… so it is easy to suspect the NRA, and many of its members, have a great deal of concern over the welfare of dogs… probably cats to some extent, as well… but, as that is not an issue in the NRA charter, those concerns are secondary, as they should be… and foolish for you to pretend they are an issue.

Shooting pigeons sounds pretty terrible coming from a hyperventilating leftist and repeated by a dim man-child angry at the world over his failed life. It may not be more terrible than many other fates which befall a bird so low on the food chain. It is likely much less terrible than the life of a factory farmed chicken, Mr. Tbone-likes-to-lecture-but-isn’t-a-vegitarian.

“I just wonder who these people are in Pennsylvania, I’d bet S. Koreans are the owners & operators of these underground puppy&pussy butcher shops…”

There is a pretty good chance Koreans are involved in the underground dog meat trade in America… though it could be Chinese, Taiwanese, Vietnamese, Eskimos, French Polynesians, and Hawaiians (who have about the most screwed up diet of any place I have ever been).

Koreans aren’t into cat, which is something pretty much anyone living in Korea would notice on their own… if they could get their nose out of the Dwaejibond glue pot long enough to take a look around.

There is a better chance the Chinese, Taiwanese, French Polynesians, and yes, the Swiss, are involved in the underground cat meat trade.

Tbone, there are certainly issues you can trip people up on around here in the Gotcha Game… and there are certainly issues you could bring up that would make people respect your observation, analysis, and concern.

But, it seems you lack the cognitive skill to identify these issues and think them through.

Life was hard for you in Korea… and it is probably harder in America without the low expectations and easy money offered an English “teacher”.

Poor Tbone.

“Tbone, I am curious about the depth of your knowledge on the NRA. Please tell us more.”

I know that the NRA seems to make people do and say stupid things, including yourself.

A 2014 Iowa female senate candidate(R-Joni Ernst) who was leading or tied in polls going into this last week just lost newspaper endorsements because she refused to meet with them to answer questions and canceled one appointment with the largest newspaper(Des Moines Register). It’s a first ever for Iowa, no senate candidate has ever done this Why did she clam up now? Because she didn’t want to answer whether she would really shoot a federal employee/armed violence against government who might take away her rights. And if the gov’t tries to implement the Affordable Care Act then federal officials should be arrested and/or shot.

“Ernst’s extremist remarks become an issue as election nears
Rachel Maddow reports on remarks made by Iowa Republican Senate candidate Joni Ernst about using her gun and arresting federal officials, and Ernst’s unusual avoidance of meetings with newspaper editorial boards in her state, cancelling scheduled meetings.”

Also noted in the video above you’ve got Sharron Angle(R-Nevada) who said she’d use guns to get what she wants in her attempt to win vs. Harry Reid…
“Sharron Angle, a Republican Senate candidate from Nevada in 2010, talking about “Second Amendment remedies” if conservatives didn’t get the election results they wanted. We also played tape of Joni Ernst, a current Republican Senate candidate from Iowa, saying she is ready to turn to armed violence against the government.”

Tbone… exactly what roll did the NRA play in this? I didn’t even see it mentioned in either event.

None-the-less, the NRA has something like 3,000,000 to 3,500,000 members.

Two divided by 3 million times 100 equals… ah… point zero zero zero zero 67 percent (.000067%)

In 2010, the first statistic at the top of search results, there were 5 foreign English teachers in Korea busted for drugs. There were about 22,000 English teachers in Korea at that time so…

Five divided by 22 thousand times 100 equals… ah… point zero 23 percent (.023%)

Interestingly, despite these small odds, you are guilty of both stupid speaking AND drug use.

You should join the NRA and buy a lottery ticket.

GOP&Personhood measure/amendment…
http://www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddow-show/watch/iud-is-not-an-ongoing-abortion-in-your-body-349733443628
An IUD is not an ongoing abortion in your body or an ABORTIFACIENT.
Dr. Stephanie Teal, of the University of Colorado Denver School of Medicine explains to people like Colorado Republican gubernatorial candidate Bob Beauprez, Pennsylvania cabinet-maker Conestoga Wood, and the Christian crafts chain Hobby Lobby, why an IUD is not an ongoing abortion in a woman’s body.

Or…
http://www.usnews.com/news/articles/2014/10/29/personhood-amendments-shake-up-elections-in-north-dakota-colorado
“Next week, voters in two states will consider ballot initiatives that would redefine what counts as a person, with anti-abortion measures geared to assert that a person’s rights begin as early as conception.

Colorado’s Amendment 67 will broaden the definition of “person” and “child” in terms of how the state approaches crime, and North Dakota’s Measure 1 would alter the state’s constitution to protect the “inalienable right to life” at “any stage of development.”

These so-called “personhood” amendments are by no means new — similar measures have failed in places like Mississippi, Florida, Nevada, and Alaska, and date back to attempts by federal lawmakers to add a personhood amendment to the U.S. Constitution in the 1970s and 1980s. However, North Dakota’s version could be the first of its kind to pass by ballot initiative.

While Colorado’s version stands to fail, it’s influenced other races in the state, and signals a new approach for the groups championing personhood measures, one that critics say hides the initiatives’ true goals from voters.”

Sen. Lindsey Graham’s (R-S.C.) principal focus is probably on this year’s re-election campaign, which he’s expected to win easily, though the senator has also begun hinting about his national ambitions and plans for two years from now.

Context, of course, is everything in a case like this, and according to CNN’s report, Graham was speaking to an all-white audience earlier this month at an all-male club, which had invited the senator to deliver “irreverent” remarks.

“I’m trying to help you with your tax status,” Graham says in the recording. “I’m sorry the government’s so f***ed up. If I get to be president, white men in male-only clubs are going to do great in my presidency.”

CH, as I’m sure you know, I’m pro-gun rights. I personally own something like 10 guns (they are of course in the US with my parents). I grew up in a house full of guns. All my neighbors had guns. One of my grandfathers was an avid gun and knife collector. Those weapons went to my dad and will eventually become mine someday. That said, I do not have any pictures of anyone in my family posing with their weapons (outside military photos). We were taught not to flash weapons around.

I have no problem with open carry, for example. If you are on your way back from the gun range, or hunting, or what have you, and stop in a 7-11 to get a Slurpee, or McDonald’s for lunch, I have no issue with that. But that is not what I see. I see a bunch of people using their weapons as a fashion accessory and/or political statement. It’s inappropriate and it would make even me uncomfortable, which I believe is part of their goal. I have no idea what level of training, nor the mental state of these persons.

Also, I have seen many self professed NRA supporters make statements that some of these school shootings were “false-flags” and faked by Obammy to stir up anti-gun sentiment. Of course it is hurtful to the families who have lost a child. Does the NRA leadership truly believe this? I doubt it. But, does the NRA attempt to disavow this BS and distance the organization from the members and individuals who espouse this nonsense? I haven’t seen it.

When I see the NRA today, I do not see my grandfather or the type of men I grew up around. I see Ted Nugent, Alex Jones, and the Duck F@ckers. Also, I’ve noticed the NRA now seems to be chock full of religious extremists. Not to say everyone in the NRA is an extremist, but they are a lot of visible and vocal extremists in the NRA. I do not care for those folks nor do I want to share in their company. Not to mention the CEO being a draft dodger himself. That carries a lot of weight with me. No sir, the NRA has lost its way.

Leon, you make great points.

I can’t say if the NRA encorages or simply tolerates the fringe element…

…or, just as in everything else, the media only pushes actions and opinions in proportion to the level of outrage they generate…

…as with pretty much everything, there are a lot of reasonable Democrats, Republicans, Tea Partiers, Occupiers, blacks, whites, liberals, conservatives, Christians, Muslims, etc., who get no airtime for their reasonable views on their pet topics.

I would speculate for every noisy nutjob in the NRA, there are many silent and normal people who simply want to be part of a larger group which works to block each slice in the Death by a Thousand Cuts strategy used against gun owners.

The NRA’s job is not to encourage or discourage the rantings of the tinfoil hat crowd. The NRA’s job is to protect all American citizens from those who would like to subvert a part of the Constitution.

A truth in reporting, government accountability, or mental health association is better suited to comment on those issues.

As for the CEO being a draft dodger, kindly provide a link that is not based on the speculations of the anti-gun crowd. He was an actual student when his number came up… so depending on your views on student deferment for actual students…

There are likely many men like your grandfather in the NRA… and they are likely the silent majority.

Regardless, the NRA has been effective at limiting unnecessary controls on firearm ownership by those who all-to-frequently maintain different standards in regards to their own armed protection… and is considered one of the three most powerful lobbying groups in America… which shows competent leadership and backing by a broad membership base.

…something to consider.

Leon Laporte

I hear you. Speaking of lobbying, I have a big problem with professional lobbyists in general, regardless of my support or lack thereof for the issues the lobbyists are lobbying for (or against). I think that system is broken as well.

The NRA could choose which members they disavow. Hell, Nugent is on the Board of Directors. As an organization, I do not see them making any attempt to separate themselves from the wackos. At worst they tolerate them, at best they (silently) embrace them. They have moved well past their original purpose and are now no more than an organ of the gun manufacturers. I’m not 100% sure, but I think my grandfather had also left the NRA quite some time ago.

Yes, I consider the student deferments draft dodging. It wasn’t much different than the well off folks in the civil war paying bounties. But in LaPierre’s case, he may have gotten a deferment for a “nervous condition.” I would think if that were untrue, he or the NRA would have answered that criticism and quashed the rumor. Especially since it works against his own argument for a national mental health database which would possibly preclude him from owning a gun! Once again, the silence is deafening.

Hmmm…

– Lobbying

Yeah. Broken beyond comprehension… and may be one of the little cuts that lead to the overall destruction of many things that are good about America as big money gets increasing influence over the will of the people… though people banding together to generate big money, such as the NRA, is a successful model, for many lesser issues the government keeps the citizens properly divided and unable to counter well-organized big business.

– NRA

I suspect you are right… the NRA is somewhere between toleration and (silent) embrace of the conspiracy theorists, far right, Christian extremists, et. al… as it builds membership and brings in the lobbying funds… that do, in fact, further the goals of the vast majority of members who work a 9 to 5, have 2.1 kids, and drive a Toyota minivan.

As for being an organ of the gun manufacturers… well… I am OK with that… as long as my goals (free to buy guns) and the goals of the gun manufacturers (free to sell guns) are in agreement. In reality, the quality and design of guns gets better and better while the price has remained affordable. I see no villains here. There is great pride in owning a gun collection… and, while it sounds more sinister than collecting other precision machines such as Swiss clocks or motorcycles, the reality is gun collectors aren’t the ones out shooting each other over who will get the corner to sell crack on.

– Draft Dodging Via Deferment

That is all before my time… so I’m not really sure how it all worked out when there was a need for soldiers but also a need for students. I suppose the stupid and the poor went to Vietnam in larger numbers than the rich and the smart. I suspect it’s easy to sit back and criticize a teenager for wanting to go to college instead of joining a highly unpopular war and risking getting his guts blown out by some pajama-wearing zipperhead in a muddy swamp for dubious gain.

Nugent, like John Wayne, didn’t go to war and then compensated by waving the flag harder. That could be looked at as regretfully doing their part after-the-fact or just shameful overcompensation.

I suspect with so many powerful enemies, the rumors of LaPierre’s “nervous condition” would have long ago been dug up if there was any truth to them… as there would exist a record… and an NRA-hating liberal politician or bureaucrat would have long ago gleefully leaked it. The silence is likely there because there is no need to deny such a completely groundless rumor any more than there is reason to deny rumors of being a midget or owning an illegal elephant.

– In the End

I don’t really care… as long as the government stays over in its corner and quits trying to make one-size-fits-all policies. I have never owned a gun which committed more crime or hurt more people than much of Washington D.C. or Wall Street does on a daily basis with a pen.

In what must have taken years of preparation and foresight, the North Koreans for decades have purposely driven their country towards strict totalitarianism and abject poverty among its masses. All to ensure that when one day ebola reared its ugly head and spread across the globe, there would be too few tourists to pose an actual threat of letting in the virus.

I don’t know what their secret is, but they are light years ahead of the rest of the world. Well played North Korea, well played.

‘Bout god am time!

Thanks to Obama! What else has Obama done wrong? Because of him the gas prices have decreased(ruining the economy), the unemployment rate is below 6% and the stock market reached record highs this month. Down with Obama says the GOP, he has ruined everything because GOP’s are now questioning whether a high stock market is good for GOP’s. Hahahahaha!!!!! Heck, Obama even “ruined healthcare” even though it’s a non-issue with almost all GOP candidates today. What else? Oh yeah, he stopped a war or two, what a puke face that black man Obama.

Tbone, how is your math homework coming?

CH, everyone can look above at your own evidence that you don’t know math, similar to S. Koreans and their statistics on foreigners. You also have a difficult time with common sense or putting two things/events etc…together and coming up with an obvious conclusion. Perhaps you should do the math yourself instead of hoping I do it for you you sloth.

What is your job again? Well whatever it is it’s obvious that a former ESL teacher can put the math slam down on you stupid.

It doesn’t matter who wins Senate because of the filibuster by the minority party.

Denny: Plus they won’t have enough votes to override a veto so business as usual.
