Canadian Prime Ministers Blasts China’s “Coercive Diplomacy”

If you have the Canadians angry at you then you know you have done something wrong:

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau warned China on Tuesday that its “coercive diplomacy,” repressive measures in Hong Kong and detention of Uighur Muslims are counterproductive for itself and the rest of the world.

Trudeau took aim at Beijing’s record as he marked the 50th anniversary of Canada’s diplomatic ties with China.

“We will remain absolutely committed to working with our allies to ensure that China’s approach of coercive diplomacy, its arbitrary detention of two Canadian citizens alongside other citizens of other countries around the world is not viewed as a successful tactic by them,” Trudeau said at a press conference.

Report Claims South Korean Election was Rigged By China

This is an interesting report about how the Chinese may have interfered in the South Korean parliamentary elections this past April:

So, as if we didn’t have enough to worry about, South Korea’s April 2020 National Assembly elections were likely rigged, with help from China. There may not be a smoking gun (yet), but there are a lot of empty shell casings scattered around and a seemingly severely wounded democracy.

A recently released independent report, Fraud in South Korea’s April 2020 Elections: It Probably Happened and is a Big Deal for the United States, by Grant Newsham, a retired Marine Colonel and former reserve head of intelligence for Marine Forces Pacific, details some of the alleged methods used as well as the indications of inconsistencies in results.

They include Electronic Counting Machines (ECM) and/or attached computers containing Huawei components; the National Election Commission server allegedly “protected” by a Huawei firewall; early voting ballots printed with QR codes, making them easy to manipulate which is why the practice is banned in some jurisdictions; serious chain of custody issues for early vote ballots; a large number of unexplained fires at election-related centres; and much more.

The combined outcome was a massive, surprising win for President Moon Jae-in’s party in an election with results that seemed so statistically improbable that the former head of the highly prestigious Korean Advanced Institute of Science and Technology said “either God did it or it was rigged”.

China Upset with Patch Used for U.S. Air Force Exercise

Here is the latest piece of news the Chinese propaganda apparatus is using domestically to keep their population hostile towards the U.S.:

The United States has staged a simulated island assault exercise featuring a red silhouette of China on air personnel’s uniforms, in what Chinese state media described as a provocative gesture.

The drill, to be completed on Tuesday, was being conducted in California, but triggered warnings from Chinese state media that China would fight back if the US attacked it in the South China Sea.

US-based Air Force magazine reported that the training by the US veteran drone fleet, which began on September 3, suggested that the US Air Force was focusing more on the Pacific region.

Patches on uniforms made for the exercise featured an MQ-9 Reaper drone superimposed over a red silhouette of China, the report said.

In the drill, Exercise Agile Reaper, three MQ-9s partnered with the US Navy’s Third Fleet, which deployed carrier strike groups, submarines and other vessels and aircraft to the eastern Pacific, along with transport aircraft C-130s, and special warfare and Marine Corps personnel.

The reapers performed air strikes during a mock amphibious assault on San Clemente Island off the Californian coast.

NYPD Officer Arrested for Being a Chinese Spy

It makes me curious what the Chinese were trying to learn from the NYPD?:

Baimadajie Angwang, a community affairs liaison at the 111th Precinct in Queens and a member of the US Marine Corps Reserve, – NYC Police Benevolent Association / Facebook

A New York City police officer has been arrested on charges he was secretly working as an agent of the Chinese government.

Baimadajie Angwang, a community affairs liaison at the 111th Precinct in Queens and a member of the US Marine Corps Reserve, had for years been reporting back to “handlers” in the People’s Republic of China (PRC), according to a criminal complaint filed at a New York federal court.

Mr Angwang, 33, an ethnic Tibetan native of China and a naturalised American citizen, had allegedly been reporting back on the activities of fellow Tibetans in the US since 2014.

According to the charging documents filed on Monday, Mr Angwang also assessed potential Tibetan intelligence sources, and used his position in the New York Police Department (NYPD) to pass along information about its internal workings to the Chinese.

“The investigation has revealed that Angwang had used his official position in the NYPD to provide consulate officials access to senior (police) officials through invitations to official NYPD events,” the complaint said.

Since June 2018, the FBI said Mr Angwang has been “in frequent communication” with an unidentified Chinese consular official he referred to as “Boss.”

That same year, he was awarded “Officer of the Month” by the NYPD for his initiative and public service.

The Telegraph

You can read more at the link, but apparently Angwang claimed he was being tortured back in China for being a Tibetan to get asylum in the U.S. However, Angwang’s father is retired from the People’s Liberation Army and his mother is a retired Chinese government official and member of the Communist Party. With family ties like that it makes me wonder why he was allowed to work in any sensitive position in the U.S. much less be allowed citizenship.

This is just another example of the broken asylum system in the U.S. which is now being used by adversaries to infiltrate spies.

China Declares that COVID-19 Fight is Over, While 5 Infected Chinese Travelers Arrive in South Korea

It looks like the Chinese propaganda apparatus is at work again as they declare that COVID-19 has been stopped in China:

“We have exerted great effort which led to a momentous and strategic victory in the battle against COVID-19.

” China has announced its victory over COVID-19 on Sep. 8 and presented medals to honor disease experts who were seen as role models in the country’s fight against the virus.

The country has reported zero cases of local infections for nearly a month.

While China has officially declared victory, some are voicing criticism as the rest of the world continues to suffer from the virus.

If you watch the Korea Times video you can see that 5 Chinese travelers to South Korea recently tested positive for the coronavirus which is causing doubt about what the Chinese government is claiming.

Opposition Media Figure and Political Activist Both Arrested in Hong Kong

Just another example that the freedoms that the people in Hong Kong once enjoyed are over:

Jimmy Lai, chairman of Next Digital, sits handcuffed in a vehicle as he is led away from his residence by law enforcement officials in Hong Kong on Aug. 10, 2020.

Right before China retook control of Hong Kong in 1997, tycoon Jimmy Lai started Apple Daily in part to promote democracy in the city. For 25 years, the newspaper survived advertising boycotts and political pressure but never backed off its tough coverage of the Chinese government and pro-Beijing lawmakers.

It might not last through the summer. Hong Kong police arrested Lai and several of his top executives on Monday and sent hundreds of officers to search the Apple Daily offices, a demonstration of the broad potential for the new national security law to silence criticism and dissent beyond pro-democracy protests and activism.

Passed in June, the legislation bars “crimes of secession, subversion, terrorism and collusion with foreign forces” as interpreted by the Chinese government and enforced by Beijing’s new security office in Hong Kong. Lai’s arrest wasn’t entirely unexpected, but it still shook the foundations of press freedom in the financial center and raised fears about what might come next.

His arrest under the security law was part of an investigation into an online activist group that received more than $129,000 (HK$1 million) funding from overseas bank accounts, the South China Morning Post reported Tuesday, citing unidentified people.

Agnes Chow, a prominent activist and founding member of the-now dissolved pro-democracy Demosisto party, also was arrested for on suspicion of breaching the security law, Cable TV reported Monday night.

You can read more at the link, but if the CCP was smart they would just arrest these people for violating “libel laws” like the Moon administration in South Korea does. This sounds better than arresting people for violating national security laws. These arrests show they don’t care what international community thinks and just want to publicly show the people in Hong Kong that the way things were before are over.
