The Chosun Ilbo is reporting that Tiger Woods is coming to Korea in November to play in a golf tournament on Cheju-do which will include many of Korea’s best golfers (Chosun Article). I wonder if the student activist groups such Hanchongnyun will protest him like they protest us soldiers? What better way to get your group’s message out than protesting the world’s greatest golfer who also happens to be an American. However, these groups won’t do this because the Korean government doesn’t like having international attention brought on them by their anti-American groups. It is okay for the groups to fire bomb, assault, and throw things at US soldiers because that can be easily concealed internationally and be used for propaganda purposes domestically. However, protesting Tiger Woods would bring international attention to their cause which the Korean government does not want. So Tiger Woods feel safe on your trip to Korea, the Korean government will make sure that you don’t see the, “we don’t serve Americans” signs in some windows and they will make sure you don’t get assaulted or hit by protestors. That is saved for us soldiers. However, Tiger if you could please come up to 2ID land. You would be a much cooler person to have come up here than the washed up celebrities (Wayne Newton), washed up rappers (Coolio & Montel Jordan), and washed up actors (the chick from Stargate-SG1) that we usually get stuck with.
