Dead Frog Found in School Lunch at High School in Seoul

This is pretty gross:

Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education said Tuesday it will open an investigation into the shocking discovery of a dead tree frog in a lunch dish provided to students at a high school in the capital the previous day.

The incident occurred at the unnamed high school in western Seoul, where students were appalled to find a tree frog carcass in radish kimchi, a popular Korean fermented side dish, served with their lunch Monday.

The school sent a letter of apology to all students and their parents, saying the contaminated kimchi was discovered after being delivered by a supplier to the school as a finished product. The school said it discarded all the radish kimchi products stored in the school cafeteria and terminated its contract with the food supplier.

South Korean DJ Complains About Being Kicked Off American Airlines Flight Due to Her Pants

Sorry, but I have little sympathy for someone who was clearly wearing these pants to be provocative and get attention:

DJ Soda said she was kicked off a flight because her sweatpants were found to be “inappropriate” and “offensive.”Instagram/deejaysoda

A popular South Korean DJ claimed she was kicked off an American Airlines flight and “harassed” into taking off her sweatpants in public because they were deemed “inappropriate” and “offensive.”

DJ Soda, whose real name is Hwang So-hee, took to Instagram and Twitter to detail how she was “harassed and humiliated” on Monday after boarding an American Airlines flight from New York to Los Angeles.

“I was forced out of the plane and was harassed to take off my pants in front of the flight crews at the gate,” the 36-year-old wrote. Hwang added that she “never had an issue” wearing the pants on her current North American music tour.

During the incident, Hwang had been wearing black sweatpants with the words “FUCK,” “FUCK YOU,” and “FUCKIN,'” printed all over, which she said were sponsored by the clothing brand Ripndip.

British Man Says People Need to Accept They? as a Transracial Korean Woman

I feel bad for this person because clearly they are suffering from a mental illness, but in today’s media and culture this is actually celebrated. With that all said, despite all these surgeries Oli London looks nothing like a Korean:

London, 31, who underwent multiple surgeries to look like BTS member Jimin, most recently identified as a Korean woman using “they/them” pronouns.

In the May 2 episode of the Channel 4 series, London sat down with a Black woman, who was not named in the video, to discuss whether someone can identify as “transracial.”

“I identify as Korean,” London said. “I used to live in Korea. I was living there for one year. I love the culture, the history, the people. I put myself through a lot of pain, a lot of surgical procedures to have more of a Korean aesthetic. I spent a lot of time learning the language, learning how to cook Korean food.”

London said “people didn’t really get it” when they came out, but they hope to be more accepted over time.

On the other side of the table, the woman opened her response by immediately rejecting the idea of transracialism.

“Transracial does not exist, and I think it’s very, very harmful to push the narrative that it is possible to switch races,” she said.

“I can’t sit up here and suddenly say ‘Oh, I’m a white woman. And if you as a white person says, ‘Oh, I can be Black or I can be Korean,’ and I can’t swap or benefit from the privilege that you benefit from, then it’s clearly not an equal exchange. Because whiteness in this country has been set up in a way. How I interact with the police, how I interact with the medical system can result in me dying.”

Bomb Squad Called to Help Remove Anti-Tank Round from Man’s Anus

If this wasn’t in the Army Times you would think this was a Duffel Blog story:

A 57mm round, once used by 6-pounder anti-tank guns like one seen here, became lodged in an unfortunate location. (Army)

The phrase “shell shocked” took on new meaning last week when a man in Gloucester, England, managed to lodge a 2-inch-wide World War II anti-tank shell inside his rectum.

The rectum’s owner, who (understandably) chose to remain anonymous, told medical staff at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital that the 57 mm round, part of the man’s WWII memorabilia collection, became embedded inside his anus after he “slipped and fell,” as one is known to do in England.

An explosive ordnance disposal squad was subsequently called to the hospital to ensure the munition was not in danger of detonating within the individual’s personal hurt locker. By the time EOD personnel arrived, doctors had already removed the shell.

Korean Ahjummas Respond to Ruckus with Maskless Man at California H-Mart Store

Why do people have to act like jerks, if you don’t like the mask policy at H-Mart than don’t shop there:

A man who caused a ruckus after refusing to wear a mask at an H Mart in California was forced to leave the store as its manager and customers stood together to kick him out.

What happened: The incident occurred at the Korean American supermarket’s location in West Huntington Drive, Arcadia around 6:15 p.m. on Aug. 6. Emilie Tan (@emilieeetan), who was shopping with her boyfriend, managed to film parts of the chaos. Tan told NextShark that they first found the man arguing with the manager at the back of the store. At the time, the man was “already visibly aggravated,” yelling in the manager’s face and refusing to leave “because he didn’t want to wear a mask.”

British Man Has Surgery to Look Like His Favorite BTS Singer

You have to love the way the media empowers people that clearly have mental issues such as this supposed Instagram influencer who had plastic surgery to look like his favorite BTS singer:

White influencer Oli London has announced that they now identifies as Korean, after undergoing multiple surgeries to alter their look. Pictured right in 2018

“Now finally, I feel Korean,” said London. “I identify with the Korean community. Maybe they will accept me more now because I have the look. Maybe people will think I’m actually Korean, which would make me really happy. They can see how much I love their culture because this is the extreme length I’ve gone to, because I love Korea so much.

“I just want to make Jimin proud as well, because Jimin is my ultimate idol. I want him to be proud, I’m sure he’ll be proud that I look exactly like him now. I have his eyes. I finally have Jimin’s Korean eyes and they’re so, so beautiful… So I’m so, so happy with my new look. I can’t wait to see the final results when my swelling goes down.”

Newsweek

What makes this even better is that media turns to someone else who also clearly has mental issues, Rachel Dolezal, the fake black person, to further justify this behavior:

In an interview with TMZ, Dolezal, former president of the NAACP chapter in Spokane, Washington, was asked about the furore surrounding London, who now calls themselves Jimin.

“I don’t know Jimin personally, obviously, so they can speak for themselves in that regard,” she said. “But I do think that the broader issue here is compassion and kindness, and that personal identity is not the big fish to fry when it comes to somebody’s personal choices or how they feel.

“I think that we need to focus on fighting the public outrage issues of police brutality, of deinstitutionalizing racism. Those are the issues that I think that we need to come together on to fight publicly, and to be kinder to people and fight a little bit less on social media against somebody’s personal choices.

Thin Blue Line Flags Now Banned on U.S. Military Installations

Apparently you cannot back the police or in this case the security forces with the Thin Blue Line flag because it is now considered racist:

The Air Force acknowledged that the display by security forces airmen at Ramstein Air Base of a “thin blue line” flag violated Defense Department policy on what types of flags can be flown on U.S. bases.

The 86th Airlift Wing posted and later removed photos on its Facebook page of airmen in uniform carrying a black-and-white American flag with a blue horizontal stripe during a 24-hour rucksack march as part of National Police Week.

The photos drew immediate condemnation by some in the community who questioned the display on a U.S. military base of a flag that has become a polarizing symbol in a nation grappling with police violence and racism. The “thin blue line” flag is used to show support for law enforcement, but it’s also been used by white supremacist groups and flown at far-right rallies.

Stars & Stripes

You can read more at the link, but based on this logic supporting firefighters with the thin red line flag should be banned as well. Taking this to its most extreme would be banning the U.S. flag since they are carried by extremist groups as well.
