Golden bat found in InjeThis undated photo, provided by the Inje municipal government on Jan. 17, 2019, shows a type of bat with golden-yellow fur that researchers found hibernating in Inje, a town in South Korea’s northeastern province of Gangwon. The endangered species, designated as the country’s Natural Monument No. 452, is also known as a golden bat due to the color of its fur. It is unusual to find the species in a northern area of the country, as it is more often spotted inhabiting southern regions. (Yonhap)

Golden bats found on S. Korean mountains

This photo, released by the Environment Ministry on Jan. 17, 2016, shows a type of bat with golden-yellow fur that researchers from the Korea National Park Service have found on Mount Odae in the northeast province of Gangwon. They also found the endangered species, also known as the golden bat, on Mount Wolak in the central province of North Chungcheong. (Yonhap)
