Suwon Elementary School Teacher Convicted for Raping 11-Year Old Girl

At least this pedophile got jail time, but it seems to me he got off pretty light by receiving only three years for committing statutory rape of a 11-year old girl:

An elementary school teacher was sentenced to three years in prison for having sexual relations with a 12-year-old girl.

Suwon District Court handed down the verdict on Monday, finding the teacher 32, surnamed Shin, guilty of violating the Sexual Crime Act against Minors. He was also ordered to undergo 80 hours of anti-sexual crime education.

According to court documents, the teacher got to know the student, then 11, through an unidentified app in October last year. The teacher introduced himself as a 19-year-old and suggested offline dating. The two met at a cafe in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province, and had sex. He took photos of the girl’s naked body.

“He cannot be forgiven,” wrote Judge Song Kyung-ho in a ruling statement. “Despite his position as an elementary school teacher, he tricked the teenage girl, who has not reached the age to fully understand sexual relations.”

The teacher claimed he didn’t know his partner was an elementary student, but the court dismissed it.  [Korea Times]

Considering this pedophile is an elementary school teacher I wonder if this was his first victim or are there others?  I also wonder if after this guy is released from prison he will some how end up back in a classroom again?

Former US Marine Claims He Did Not Intend To Murder Japanese Woman, Just Kidnap and Rape Her

Here is an update from the trial of a former US Marine who killed a Japanese woman on Okinawa last year:

The parents of a 20-year-old Okinawan woman murdered last year told a packed courtroom Friday they want the former Air Force contractor charged in her death to pay for the brutal crime with his life.

“A murderer, who took my daughter’s life, should not be allowed to live,” the mother said in a statement read by her lawyer during the second day of Kenneth Franklin Gadson’s trial at Naha District Court.

Gadson, 33, a former Marine who was a civilian employee at a Kadena Air Base cable and internet provider at the time of his arrest, is charged with murder, rape resulting in death and the illegal disposal of a body in the death of Rina Shimabukuro. He is being tried under Japan’s lay judge system with three judges and six jurors.

Shimabukuro disappeared after going out for a walk on the evening of April 28, 2016. Gadson became a suspect — and was later charged in the crime — after police spotted his SUV while checking vehicles captured by security cameras in the area.

During the previous day’s proceedings — which mostly focused on whether Shimabukuro’s killing was premeditated — Gadson read a prepared statement pleading guilty to rape resulting in death and illegal disposal of the body but denied the murder charge, stating that he had “no plans to kill her.”

Gadson told the court he planned to knock her unconscious, take her to a hotel in a suitcase to rape her and release her afterward. After failing to knock her out, he panicked and was not able to complete his plan, he said.  [Stars & Stripes]

South Korea’s “Molar Daddy” Accused of Raping 14-Year Old Girl Before Killing Her

Here is an update on a former South Korean media darling known as “molar daddy” that allegedly raped and murdered a 14-year old girl:

Lee Young-hak

Lee Young-hak, who was arrested last month for allegedly killing a 14-year-old girl, has been indicted on murder and rape charges, the prosecution said Wednesday.

The Seoul Northern District Prosecutors’ Office said the 35-year-old was indicted on charges of raping the daughter of a friend of his while she was asleep and strangling her to death, among other charges.

If he is found guilty, he could be sentenced to life in prison.

According to the prosecution, his deviant sexual desires, including pedophilia, sadism and voyeurism, were a big part of his criminal motive.

Lee lured the girl to his house in Seoul by using his daughter, who left after giving the victim a drink that had powdered sleeping pills in it.

While his daughter was away, Lee raped and sexually assaulted the victim with sex toys.

When she woke up, he strangled her to death with a tie and a towel, and with his daughter, buried her body on a hill in Yeongwol, Gangwon Province.  [Korea Times]

You can read more at the link, but it appears the motive is that after his wife committed suicide he had no one to carry out his strange sexual fantasies so he used his daughter to lure her friend to his house where he committed the crime.

Korean Man Arrested at Guam Airport for Rape Charge in Oregon

I wonder if this guy forgot that Guam is part of the United States?:

A man wanted in connection with sex crimes in Oregon was apprehended on Guam after he arrived here on a flight from South Korea, according to a written statement from U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

The 59-year-old man, who is not named in the statement, is wanted on charges of rape in the first degree, sodomy in the first degree and two counts of sex abuse in the first degree, according to the statement.

The South Korean man arrived on a flight Oct. 19 and was taken into custody by Customs and Border Protection.  [Pacific Daily News]

17-Year Old Korean Girl Raped by Step-Grandfather for Six Years; Gives Birth to Two Babies

Something is not adding up with this story.  How did the grandmother not know about the rapes when the teenager gets pregnant twice?:

A man who raped his step-granddaughter over six years has been sentenced to 20 years in prison. The girl had two children as a result, according to court documents.

Suwon District Court said Thursday that the man, identified only as “A,” 53, had raped the girl, “B,” 17, since she was an elementary school student.

The attacks started when the girl moved into his house in 2011.

B is a granddaughter of the woman “A” lived with without official marriage registration. The woman took custody of the victim after her parents divorced.

The man was able to keep his attacks secret because he raped the girl when her grandmother was absent, according to court documents. He also told the girl: “I will kill you if you speak out about this.”

The grandmother learned of the shocking story early this year and reported it to police.

“It’s horrendous and shocking,” the court said. “Even though he has no criminal history, a heavy punishment is inevitable.”

The man claimed sex with the victim was “always consensual” and he did not know about the babies.  [Korea Times]

At least this is another example of how South Korea is giving out longer sentences to rapists.

Korean Teacher Arrested for Having Sex with 12-Year Old Male Student

I guess the moral to this story is that the teacher should have waited until the student was 13 which is just a creepy as having sex with a 12 year old:

South Gyeongsang Province education office director Kim Sang-kwon, middle, bows in apology for “inappropriate” relations between a female teacher and her 12-year-old male student, Tuesday. / Yonhap

A female teacher has been arrested for allegedly having sex with an elementary student.

According to police and South Gyeongsang Province education office, the teacher, 32, had sex with a male student, 12, in the classroom and her vehicle. They had sex several times between June and early August by what the teacher claimed was mutual consent, police said.

Having sex with a minor aged under 13 is punishable, even if it is consensual.

The case was reported to the police by the student’s parents, who found photos of the half-naked teacher on their son’s mobile phone.

They also found text messages from the teacher saying, “I love you,”and “I’ll buy you dumplings, come outside.”  [Korea Times]

Korean Lawmakers Pass New Law Authorizing Chemical Castration of Sex Offenders

It will be interesting in a few years to see if this new policy actually helps reduce the number of sex crimes or not?:

South Korean lawmakers have passed amendments to sex crime laws which will see those guilty of attempted rape and voyeurism subject to drug treatment, also known as chemical castration, in order to control their sexual impulses.

During the cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Lee Nak-yon held on Tuesday at the Government Complex in Seoul, the government deliberated and voted on a number of reforms related to the law concerning pharmacological treatment of violent sex crime offenders, meaning offenders committing crimes of attempted rape, voyeurism, and rape involving minor victims will all be subject to chemical castration.

In addition, those serving a prison sentence and court orders of pharmacological treatment in the last nine to six months will be able to appeal to a court to lift the orders after being examined by psychology professionals to assess the risks of recidivism.  [Korea Biz Wire]

Korean Ambassador to Ethiopia Accused of Raping Embassy Worker

South Korea’s diplomatic corps faces yet another sexual assault allegation:

Kim Moon-hwan

Korean Ambassador to Ethiopia Kim Moon-hwan is suspected of sexually abusing a female embassy staffer, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Wednesday.

It said Kim is also accused of sexually harassing several volunteers at Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), an aid organization under the ministry’s wing.

The ministry will send a team of internal inspectors to Ethiopia, Thursday, after investigating the cases on its own.

The revelation comes after a series of sexual offenses committed by diplomats over the past few years and a call for Kang Kyung-wha, the country’s first female foreign minister, to better protect the increased number of female officers.

The ministry said the victim testified against Kim during an internal inspection last week in Seoul of her superior who she said raped her after having a dinner and wine with her in Ethiopia, July 8.

“The victim testified that Kim sexually assaulted her, which she found very offensive, in addition to her statements about the case involving her superior,” a ministry official said.  [Korea Times]

Korean Man Convicted of Rape in Australia Received No Jail Time for Prior Rape in South Korea

It is pretty incredible that this guy rapes and assaults a female high school student in South Korea and gets no jail time:

A Korean man who fled the country after raping a minor was repatriated after committing the same crime in Australia, according to the Ministry of Justice (MOJ) Thursday.

The rapist, surnamed Hwang, 35, was initially sentenced to 30 months’ jail, suspended for four years, in 2010 for raping and assaulting a female high school student.

But during his probation, police and the prosecutors’ office investigated Hwang for breaking and entering in June 2012.

Sensing his probation would be cancelled, Hwang fled to Australia after a layover in the Philippines in July 2012.

The Korean court sentenced Hwang to an additional eight months in prison in his absence.

But even in Australia, Hwang’s old habits continued.

He was eventually caught and an Australian court sentenced him to nine years in prison on four charges of rape and attempted rape during his stay in New South Wales.  [Korea Times]

You can read more at the link, but this is another example of past lenient sentences for sex criminals in South Korea.  These past sentences were so weak that a Korean family had the rape of their son by a Camp Jackson NCO transferred to the US military legal system instead of being tried in a ROK civilian court.  The NCO rapist received a 30 year sentence for his crime while the guy in the above article rapes a high school student and goes free.

One of the worst sentences I have seen is when a 19-year old US Army private was raped by a taxi cab driver that picked her up at Incheon International Airport and he received no jail time because she did not resist enough.

US Soldier Stationed On Osan AB Accused of Raping Korean Woman in Gangnam

With the leftists emboldened every GI crime incident now has the potential to be blown up in the media.  So far this one has been kept pretty low key considering it happened back on April 1st and we are hearing about it now:

An American soldier faces a charge for sexual assault, the Gangnam Police Station said Monday. The soldier, part of the United States Forces Korea stationed at Osan Air Base in Gyeonggi Province, allegedly raped a woman after taking her to a hotel at 7:30 a.m. near a club where they met in Gangnam, April 1.

According to police, the woman had been intoxicated when she was taken to the hotel and then raped. She reported the incident to the police the same day, claiming she believed she was raped.

After about a month-long police investigation, in which the police analyzed video footage from the club and hotel, the police identified the soldier as the culprit. The police summoned the suspect for questioning June 17 and indicted him June 20, following the protocol of the Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA), a mutual defense treaty between Korea and the U.S.  [Korea Times]

Just like with all the other criminal cases involving US GI’s this soldier will be prosecuted through the Korean court system and if found guilty will be put in Korean prison.  It will be interesting to see in the coming months if the currently emboldened anti-US groups in Korea will try to revive the narrative that GIs are committing all these crimes and then flying home with no punishment.
